I just love live performances like this that you just can't always get from studio recordings..the raw energy, the ambiance of the lights hitting the stage and camera being handheld, audience going crazy,Mr.Pickett Excitement and Soul..also that's crazy but when he does that "Mid Mid Mid" it sounds like a hip-hop loop I thought that was dope too
I would rate Wilson Pickett up there with ANY Soul Singer , any Time period , any planet , Period, bcs in order to BE the Man , you have to Beat the Man ... Who can match his charisma , his electrifying performance , his Voice .
DJJD..because we live in a different world and all than, back in the 60's when life was completely the opposite as of today......no cell phones, PC's, digital age was none exsistant. In the 60's it was putt'in your heart and soul into each tune like it was your last song.............grove on partner..............Wilson sure did.........
Such a great version, so different to Solomon Burke. This is the version copied by everybody now. Brilliant, it still one of my favourites after all these years

SACTICAL BAG I rate Wilson Pickett and Freddy Mercury as the 2 GREATEST singers and frontmen in all of Music. Rock, Blues/Soul. Period.
Only Otis.
he is the only r and b singer that can scream on KEY --and not lose that grit that only he can do!!!
Absolutely the best. Wicked indeed!
Lifting my spirits up!!!

Outstanding! Raw! Feel that energy! Brilliant! Thanks Bob
Mr. Pickett was 27years old at this time!!! So mature for 27
I do think this often about the fellas of that time-- lookin' at record covers or such.
just BRILLIANT
I would love to have a stereo version of this performance.
