Hello. I was wondering about the options for the own choice repetoire for these new diplomas. I was wondering for instance LRSM, it says own choice repetoire must be ARSM standard or above. I was wondering when the say this, own choice repetoire can be outside the ARSM List right? I was wondering for instance, do you think the Chopin Fantasie Impromptu op 66 could be allowed to be used in LRSM as I think it is ARSM Standard but not on the ARSM List.
@@musiconwingcc I can agree that the piece is not lrsm standard too. But if it is ARSM standard in difficulty to you, do you think it could be one of the pieces for lrsm. ive seen some people play it for the old dipabrsm diploma and I think that means it is ARSM Standard in difficulty level, so I think it can be used in a LRSM Diploma exam. The students I saw play the fantasie impromptu in a DIPABRSM exam all passed. What do you think? th-cam.com/video/tBm8R29UzO4/w-d-xo.html This boy passed the DIPABRSM Diploma with Fantasie Impromptu being an own choice piece. Does that mean it can be used in LRSM since the piece obviously is ARSM Standard as they new LRSM says own choice repetoire must be ARSM Standard in difficulty at minimum? What do you think?
@@jamesrichards1893 sure he passed dipABRSM with the piece stated but not with LRSM, even when the syllabus says ARSM minimum (granted, ARSM is somewhat at a lower level of difficulty than dipABRSM in my opinion), I don’t suggest my students/other candidates do the minimum. So that’s my opinion.

Yes you can pick pieces outside ARSM for LRSM. Personally I don’t think the Fantasie Impromptu is difficult enough for LRSM.
