At 8:28 when I go to plugins ( I am using Astra like you) and go to the library it doesn't show me the page builder choice, it takes me to a video showing me how to use starter templates. If I go to Appearance again it takes me to the same video. Where is the page builder choice button? I finally googled it and it told me : Dashboard, navigate to Tools → Post Types and click the Add New Button, name it Portfolio, for example. Now, click on the Page Builder tab next to the Text and Visual tabs, use the Page Builder Add Widget and Add Row buttons to build your portfolio custom post type layout. But tools doesn't give me a post types choice. If I click on Available Tools it also does not give me any choices. To the right of the menu it only tells me to set up Analytics, Optin Monster and WP Forms. I went back to the video it took me to and ran it all the way to the end and then clicked Start Building your website. It then took me to Select Page Builder but it didn't include Guttenberg, only three other choices. I am stuck and can't go forward without it. Now I accidentally logged out of WP and when I came back in it is trying to set me up from scratch again and I can't find my dashboard/home. This is getting to be not worth it. This all started because I watched the video over and over again, trying to follow the instructions on how to choose a page builder and now I am lost. I want Guttenberg and Astra because I want a block builder.

Far too many online tutorials are too hard to understand and I'm NOT talking about learning code either. Some videos about how to build a website with their wellknown websites talk far too fast and with far too much information to take it in while watching their half hour or often much longer videos and then when the videos finally finish you are exhausted and can only remember a handful of what they said. BUT....... Thanks for the amazing stuff! When i submit sitemap in GSC it shows success but is unable to discover Urls hence the Urls are not even discovered. Tried submitting news sitemap plus post sitemap. It also does the same shows success status but no urls are discovered. Tried Api for instant indexing it is also not working. What might be wrong?

Unknowingly, I started watching the oldest one but after a doubt I had, I entered the channel and found there was yet another version, the one for 2019 and later, browsing through the channel, I found this other version. Naturally, I am taking this last version as the most appropriate for a newbie to learn how to set up a WordPress site. Is it any good to watch the other two versions or should I stick to just this one to get what it takes about setting up a WordPress website? Congratulations! If you are directly editing the theme's files then you would need a child theme but if you are using tools like the theme customizer and adding your CSS in the additional CSS area you would not need a child theme :)

Editing the look of your site would not be done through the Block/Gutenberg editor it should be when you try to create a page or post that you see the editor. If you are not seeing it when editing posts and pages you may want to check your plugins to see if you have the classic editor plugin active on your site.
If you have Beaver Builder and Elementor, then those take over the Gutenberg/block editor with their own interfaces. They each have their own documentation for how to use them.

Very informative but I have one question. My website is specialized (and ecommerce). I found a theme but I can't find a template that will work. Is there a way to change the existing photo's that are on the header, etc. on a template?
Most themes should allow you to change all of the images in the theme itself or if there is not a built-in option you can normally reach out to the theme's support for a method to modify the image.
If your theme has a custom interface then you would want to check with the support for the specific theme and they should be able to help with their interface. If you don't see blocs in your post and page editing screen, your site may be using the old classic editor. You would want to check if you have the classic editor plugin active and your site is up to date for the most common reasons to not see the block editor!

For your domain it would depend on if you are hosting your site with GoDaddy or another hosting provider. If you're on a different hosting provider then you can change your nameservers to point your domain to your new host as one option and then you would be able to set up your MX records on your new host to have your email working.

The only plugin that may matter would be the plugin from 8:24 otherwise you would likely want to reach out to the theme's support to see if the option was removed.

I don't understand the "install wordpress" step. I got my domain name through google domains and then connected it to my WP site though my account. I never had to install wordpress anywhere, I just log onto the wordpress site and edit my site from there. But I don't have have the "dashboard" tab or have the ability to install plugins. Is Gutenberg now unavailable with the Starter Templates Plugin? I downloaded and see Elementor etc. but no Gutenbgerg!
Elementor overrides the default WordPress interface which is why you do not see the block/Gutenberg editor.

Without creating redirects for the blogger permalink style it will cause issues when trying to visit those pages.

Very informative but I have one question. My website is specialized (and ecommerce). I found a theme but I can't find a template that will work. Is there a way to change the existing photo's that are on the header, etc. on a template?
Most themes should allow you to change all of the images in the theme itself or if there is not a built-in option you can normally reach out to the theme's support for a method to modify the image.

If your theme has a custom interface then you would want to check with the support for the specific theme and they should be able to help with their interface. The other possibility would be if you are using the block editor in which case you would want to take a look at our article below!

If you don't see blocs in your post and page editing screen, your site may be using the old classic editor. You would want to check if you have the classic editor plugin active and your site is up to date for the most common reasons to not see the block editor!

For your domain it would depend on if you are hosting your site with GoDaddy or another hosting provider.
If you're on a different hosting provider then you can change your nameservers to point your domain to your new host as one option and then you would be able to set up your MX records on your new host to have your email working.

Hi, great tutorial but I'm a little stuck. I'm a complete beginner to WP and following the tutorial exactly as a test run. Changing the "Take Action" button via the Primary Menu and I don't seem to have an option here to remove the button? Am I missing a plugin?
The only plugin that may matter would be the plugin from 8:24 otherwise you would likely want to reach out to the theme's support to see if the option was removed.

Hello. We have a site that was built in 2015. It is super slow but we don't know what we can remove safely since we no longer have access to the web designer. If you're using a page builder, most will attempt to override the default editor with their tool.

I don't understand the "install wordpress" step. I got my domain name through google domains and then connected it to my WP site though my account. I never had to install wordpress anywhere, I just log onto the wordpress site and edit my site from there. But I don't have have the "dashboard" tab or have the ability to install plugins. It says I need to upgrade to a business account. How can I work around this so I can get these features in the tutorial?
