Did I miss anything or did they not mention the name of the bike? It's a Rose Backroad FF for those who are wondering. It's a German bike brand and the bike has been released just 2-3 months ago. It also won the women's Unbound I think. I used to own the aluminum version of the backroad and I can say it's a class ride and quite affordable at the same time.
@@unripetoast-nu4lv That's thing they usually subtract VAT for US sale, but they include it. I'm not sure how that gets rectified, because I've bought a lot of stuff from Europe and I've never had a vender charge me VAT.
Honestly, I love sponsor shout-outs by anyone with sponsors. Sponsors make the racing world turn. And if Ben ever shows up in a NASCAR-like shirt with logos and patches all over it, I'll be cheering for him! And I did that with my Dad half a century ago when he was big-time into auto racing. I just had to jump my Sting-Ray like Evel Knievel and be all flashy in a pair of bright red STP pants, official team gear from the Richard Petty '73 NASCAR campaign.
Great video, what a beast he is! That frame bag looks ideal for my small bike. I saw another white Tailfin frame bag on another video, which was a prototype. Hopefully we'll see this one come to retail!
Amazing riders just to finish that xl in one shot, I’d just be finishing! Great interview, nice looking set up, what brand were the aero bars? Seems like he enjoyed the ride.
What a man, what a man what a might good man - machine! Thanks @Ben D as always for all your efforts and hard work producing this amazing ‘inside info’ content! I don't know if it's too late, could you do a video on the 50 and/or 100 milers at Unbound? Want to see how the more Mortal distance races went and work 🙂. Doing the 200 or the XL right now for me is just inconceivable 🙂.
I was curious what was his gearing is, I only saw the 44T chain ring. And when he mentioned "the new sram", is that the new 13 speed or am I trippin? I think it's not based on the current shifters.
Yeah, sorry - that was a little confusing. It's the 12spd - just new for him. Not the so new it's not out yet 13spd. His cassette is either the 10-50 or 10-52.
@@TheRidewithBenDelaneyI Looks like a mullet build with the SRAM Eagle T-Series (Transmission) XX0 or XX1 cassette and derailleur paired with Force parts in the front. Perfect for rough terrain.

I’m trying to figure this out, too. That bag looks amazing. The best I can come up with searching is maybe Tailfin? The straps, the zipper and the general shape of the bag seem to match, but the number of straps and side markings don’t. It’s a little blurry to read, but I think his bag might say “R&D Division” on the side, so maybe he got some kind of prototype or custom bag from them? Hopefully someone on here actually knows instead of trying to guess and google.
That's a Rose Backroad FF frame. I've been looking at new gravel bikes to buy and it has a nice spec sheet for the price. Unfortunately, I discovered that it's one of the few gravel bikes that still uses a pressfit BB, which is a deal-killer for me on gravel. 350 (or 10) miles in mud on a pressfit BB is no longer on my to-do list.
Spirit of gravel? Refreshing to see the winner on an unbranded bike. Shame the discussion began with tyre and groupset branding and that Seb felt the need to be obtuse about the chainlube. It’s the rider not the bike that wins.
@@SteveFullerBikes C’mon. Seriously? No one runs a new chain with no lube for a 350mile gravel race. He just didn’t want to name his lube because he hasn’t got a lube sponsor. Deliberately obtuse.
