Requiem was one of, if not the first MMORPG to use havok physics and have "gore" in it when you kill mobs. It was quite popular in Korea when it launched, if I remember right. It's a shame the original devs never updated the menus, or the graphics a bit, or added much more content past a few updates etc. The fact it's still running (even if relaunched a few times now) is amazing to me.

I only briefly saw the short scene of Shaiya and I was overcome with a feeling of nostalgia for how much fun I had playing the game with my friends back then. PVE and PVP, the healer was the strongest class.

The 4th Coming is an old MMO still online today with official servers and a bunch of private ones too. It for sure doesn't have the amount of players it had in the early 2000s but is still quite enjoyable to play.

I play requiem since it was Requiem Memento Mori and i was 10 years old child back then. And the game quickly became my favorite game ever. Yeah it was difficult reaching the endgame but i was having so much fun playing alone and with a lot of friends too. A month ago i started to play Throne And Liberty and in couple of days i was max lvl. And now when i am max lvl i did some raids/dungeons for couple of days and i collected some of the best endgame gear so easy and fast and i got so bored from the game and quit... Ive tried many mmos like this before, played some of them for some time again but in the end i quitted. Till this date and day i am still playing Requiem and when i started i was 10yo kid now i am 22yo guy and its my favorite! REQUIEM ON TOP ! 🔝
That's what I thought at first and my clip in the video doesn't capture it properly, but I think what's really happening is the tabs used to be organized into seperate categories/sections. So you would have a category for "featured items" and a section for "cosmetics".. so when you click a tab that used to be featured in one of those categories it would reorganize accordingly. It seems like they removed the categories, without removing the category functionality of the tabs. (that's my theory anyway)
@@Waydots The item mall shop is a complete mess. I personally think is is because the plan was to move away from a lot of the pay to win aspect which is why some of the pay items used to strengthen (reinforce) were moved to daily quest that you get at level 50. It is a shame that they screwed up the pricing on things like Premium and made it 5 USD for 24 concurrent hours, which is just absurd imo. In the past it was 8 USD for 30 days (date to date). Even on their website, they don't have any real info on the Cash Shop items. It just says coming soon. This is the outcome we get when the game is essentially maintained by a single individual (Helium). This, among many reasons is why I felt the game needed a strong Discord community server lead by fans so you can learn about these kinds of things. BTW. Not that anyone cares, but the whole row of tabs (left to right) for the Cash Shop moves to the bottom because if you look closely at it, there is an outline and color change to the specified tab that was selected which resembles the rest of the game's UI.
I have a soft spot for Requiem. It promised horror in an MMO, but it never really delivered. Since its beta, I've played in on and off over the years, the brown depression mist is a mood and some of the creature designs are kind of neat. That being said, outside a little nostalgia boost, the game bores quickly. I always have had the feeling the game is woefully under developed, shoved out into release with only a minimum of systems developed.
Nice series, just discovered it. I've lately been playing Eldevin cause I liked a TH-camr's review of it. I recommend it for the series if you haven't covered it yet though at 30 people online at a time it may be too crowded.
I have the original razer naga and play grim dawn one handed so effortlessly. If you love those diablo-esque games like pillars of eternity, you need that mouse. Such a good sponsor!
I actually remember playing requiem at some point. I, a young boy with no credit card, wished to try various free mmos instead of something like world of warcraft. The two that stood out were requirement and 9Dragons (I think), I put at least 20 hours into requiem and 100s into 9Dragons!
How about an MMO that died, got on a supported breathing by the community and revived itself in a complete make-over last year after the head Dev dipped for almost 12 years? The name of the game is Endless-Online. It's made in 2003 and it was a lot of fun to play back in the day. Never was and still isn't pay to win but is very grindy. 2D graphics, fairly large world with a lot of secred short cuts and areas, a lot of items to craft and very straight forward but extremely fun. Please check it out! :) I would be delighted to see a revew on it as it seems 99% of people don't know it. Played it since 6th grade back in 2008 and still come to it to bring some nostalgia from time to time.
I remember using an emulator to create an Everquest server of my own, yes i could great bots every level to back me up in fights and while it was fun, it still lacked that human element of the original that allowed you to be proud of an accomplishment and share in the glory together, like writing the tactic and carrying it out to kill the 2nd version of Innoruuk with just 13 people while others were failing with 30+. Others truly do help make you feel great about something in MMO's
I loved requiem memento mori, it was my first mmorpg, it's a shame the game was abandoned years ago and everything they planned for the future of the game was canceled, they just gathered all the game updates and put it on Steam as Desderium Mortis and called it "Requiem Revival", it came full of problems that will never be fixed again and the few old players who were excited gave up within a month, the game mechanics and pvp were a lot of fun at the time and there were a lot of active players, but still the game is very active in Russia, Russia always keeps old games alive and I never understood why haha

Oh my gosh. Titan Revenge reminds me of a game I played on Facebook called Wartune. I was 13 and I thought wings that big looked absolutely awesome. But just think: every time a new server was released, everyone RUSHED to be the first spenders to increase their Battle Rating ASAP. Purchases came with wings, and there’d be hundreds of P2W people in the main hub with their decked out gear. You couldn’t see your character. You’d get cool titles under your name like “Highest BR” and everyone would BEG to be in your Guild. Those were the days. Egregiously flashy characters, over the top abilities, poor english translation, and wings larger than the continental USA.

Hey, can you try some old MMOs? Like 4 Story- from Gameforge, or what about a Voxel Sandbox MMO like Trove- in this one you can build in guilds and it gets saved and the collecting costumes, mounts, pets are a big part of the game, there are so many stuff to collect it feels like getting all the pokemon in a pokemon game :D
Don't know if it still works but you should try Florensia, an old childhood mmo but still had a pretty good time there back in the days! Nice vid, as always!
I appreciate what the Reconquer dev was trying to do... but MMO players aren't exactly known for great time managment LOL. If you're looking for a good and less overt Runescape clone I'd recommend Black Grimoire Cursebreaker
The Secret World( I mean the original, not Legends). This game had an epic story, a perfect thin line between truth and myths. There was literally freedom of choice to build characters, but nowadays gen Z can't think out of the box to challenge yourselves. It was a masterpiece in my opinion! The best MMO ever created.
This Requiem ressembles to FFXII. From shopee of course...😄But its costumes and landscapes are a little similar... And i liked the weight of the combat...
When they set Requiem offline to redo it, my expectation where not that high but i hoped for at least a graphics update, until today i got no real answer what they did except renaming it. Its quiet sad to be honest, as it has alot of things in it e.g when it comes to Skills and the uberpower(?) i forgot what it was called. Even i liked it, that monsters weren't standard and popped into bloody pieces. What it made it most intresting to me lot of years ago was, it called itself the first MMORPG which was 18+
The changes that came from the "relaunch" were dismal for sure. There was a lot of things that were suppose to happen that never did. There was never even a real explanation as to what the issues were for not making the changes they planned and partially shared. I suspect it was because of major staffing issues during that whole covid period (beginning of 2022) and then the loss of one of the key members during that time. Not to mention the code for the game is extremely dated and modifying it breaks so much subsequent code. Uberpower = Possession Beast probably.
Surprised you didn't try Everquest 2 released in 2004 and the Origins (different from the current "live" servers where xpacks are still released every year) server, you have to select Origins in the versions in the launcher pad in upper left corner. Reluctantly find 300 people playing! It's dead, but fun...
@Waydots ah badass I'll sub and check it out! Thx! Played that game since inception, only stopped playing this last August, lol... finally broken free from the clutches
you forgot to mention the biggest part of the reconquer, u can make ur own macros to do anything u want... my acc in the video with the * in its name was macroing mining

Still haven't seen a video on it, been waiting for Josh to worst MMO it haha.It has a combo system with tab targeting. Fiesta Online was one of my favorites in middle school, I even made a plushie of the slime in home ec lol. It looks like Titan Revenge was probably made by the people who made League of Angels. That's the first game I remember the huuuuge over the top wings. Aion was the first game I remember that had usable wings. Eden Eternal was a game that was interesting with its skills and it had a marriage system. that gave you special skills and exp boosts.
I actually played tales of wind back in 2019 since me and my friend used to play a ton of mobile mmorpg's, it's not great, at all. It's boring like most mobile games. But it is what it is, and it was fun to play with a friend

I don't know if you can count it as dead, but theres a ton of bots playing "Foxhole" steam
Titan Revenge the future of gaming. Look at how we are turning into phone zombies.
Tbh I think wings could look really good on your character if done right
When they set Requiem offline to redo it, my expectation where not that high but i hoped for at least a graphics update, until today i got no real answer what they did except renaming it.
Uberpower = Possession Beast probably.
I honestly think those wings looked pretty bad ass
didnt know they still made the naga, loved that mouse when i was younger
Beautiful way to begin the year
Did you really leave the resolution in requiem at 1024x768? Why?
Surprised you didn't try Everquest 2 released in 2004 and the Origins (different from the current "live" servers where xpacks are still released every year) server, you have to select Origins in the versions in the launcher pad in upper left corner. Reluctantly find 300 people playing! It's dead, but fun...
I have a whole video on Everquest 2 from just a couple months ago!
@Waydots ah badass I'll sub and check it out! Thx! Played that game since inception, only stopped playing this last August, lol... finally broken free from the clutches
Thank god for that 10k hp potion for a 70hp char.
Have you tried Allods Online? I used to play that a little bit back in the mid to late 2000s. it looks kinda like wow
you forgot to mention the biggest part of the reconquer, u can make ur own macros to do anything u want... my acc in the video with the * in its name was macroing mining
Tian's revenge loading screen looks like great value Alecstraza from WOW
If you're looking for some other old mmos, I've played a few hundred lol.
I played Cabal Online for hundreds of hours, I think it's still up.
Wait an MMO exists that Josh HASN'T documented?! I'll get right on it chief thanks for the headsup!
But nah seriously i appreciate the suggestions :)
Bro that horrible RuneScape clone dev had the balls to make it limited play time lmao. Like why even bother
Missed opportunity on the name Wingdot in TItan Revenge.
Otherwise, great video. 🙃
I played a lot of requiem vack in the days! Loved it then. Looks horrible today 😂
can you try Kitsune Saga if it's still around? Or Adventure Quest Worlds
I actually played tales of wind back in 2019 since me and my friend used to play a ton of mobile mmorpg's, it's not great, at all. It's boring like most mobile games. But it is what it is, and it was fun to play with a friend
i remember playing ferentus a long time ago and there's a place where you can play it FHX Restoration
You have to try Shaiya !! Best chanel 😯 watch from France !
Puzzle Pirates would be interesting!
Bro, my dumbass thought the first game said "Razgovor Online" until you said "Reconquer Online" Had me confused because "Razgovor" isnt even out yet
Playing with one hand would be useful for Nikke 😌 I might actually check out the sponsor
After Aion came out lot of mmo's added wings..
