I have to say Gary, as an American I've only visited England once this last April but I love watching your videos. They're very well done and it makes me want to visit some of these places next time I'm back.
So as an American, I'm just learning about Sunday roast which seems to be a nation wide thing. Today I learned that it isn't only Roast beef, but Ham, Turkey and I would guess Lamb as well. Good episode!
I used to live in Trottiscliffe and The George was my local! A lovely pub run by a dedicated family. The food is absolutely delicious! Lovely garden as well! Your review was spot on! Highly recommended!
You got me at 'warm plate' again. Can't stand hot food on a cold plate. The whole experience in the pub sounded top drawer. Thanks for taking us along. 😊
Brussel sprouts, love them, fabulous plate of food Gary, the gravy and Yorkshire puddings. My three dogs would love love the dog bowls. That's what you call a meal.
Glad you chose this place as I have been a few times as I used to live relatively close by. It's always packed on a Sunday because of the roast dinners. I used to have the lamb as most places don't do it for some reason. It was always good. Your meal looked delicious. I love meat cut thick, most roasts that you have out are always cut wafer thin. Love cranberry sauce with turkey but only at Christmas. Good selection of vegetables too. The Yorkshire pudding is a proper one! That gravy looks like it's served by the slice ! For £20 that's decent value. That's a 9 from me. Great review Gary as always.
Another wonderful review Gary. That roast dinner looked 10/10 for me. I'm so happy you said the turkey wasn't dry as if you cooked turkey properly then it shouldn't be dry. That gravy looked out of this world and thick just as I like it. Nothing worst than runny gravy imo. Great stuff.
That looked like a really nice plate of food. Turkey can often be dry but the way it looked and from your description, it sounded fantastic. The gravy, it looked just fabulous, thick and well made! Another place on our list to try! Fantastic review as always, Gary and keep up the great work. 😋🙂 It made me hungry!!
Great stuff Frank. Hope you enjoy it when you next have time to go. The pub itself is huge, make sure you get booked into the lodge. Thanks for watching!
Ocean Spray Cranberries had a major processing facility on the west coast of Washington State about 15 miles west of Aberdeen WA. There were a large number of bogs from which cranberries were harvested when I grew up there 50+ years ago. I chuckled when you held up the jar.
I'm a Brit but i love Curry's, Spag bols, Chillie's, Chinese etc but my absolute favourite meal is a decent UK Sunday roast/Xmas dinner! Bring it on with plenty of thick gravy and sprouts! For a £3.30 add on too a £17 Sunday roast i would have expected a bit more Turkey than just a few thin slices TBH..
Another interesting review,; well filmed, narrated and good surrounding sound. I like all sauces, particularly cranberry. That looked like a lovely meal served on a nice big plate. Just one disappointment Gary - the notice board outside boasted cask ales . I was looking forward to your comment on their beer. Keep up the good work, Philip
Superb roast dinner Gary and as you said all those little touches they add + excellent service make for a very pleasant dining experience. I'm drooling just watching you eat it !
Loving the reviews, Gaz. I settled on egg and toast today but this has enspired me to fire up the over for a midweek roast. Keep up the good work mate.
I don’t why,but when I go into these sort of pubs I always order a Ploughman’s…. Not a fan of a Roast Dinner, but it did look tasty! I’m moving to Kent ( Tankerton) on Friday from S.E London and I can’t wait….loads of quality Boozers. I’ll be watching your vlogs sat on a bench overlooking the sea in the freezing cold….Heaven!!
Im always slightly sceptical when a pub offers a huge range of dishes. That said, your roast looked excellent. The sprouts are a very good test of a restaurant - the window between under and over cooked is very tight, so well played the George. Price seemed fair for an excellent meal with great service in a lovely looking old pub. Great review.
Hi Gary. Growing up in UK with a Canadian Mum we always had homemade applesauce with any festive dinner. Having lived in Canada for 55 plus years I always serve homemade cranberry sauce with orange zest and Grand Mariner! Delicious!🇨🇦
Another great video Gary thanks. Isn't it crazy how most of us only eat turkey on Xmas day? It's such a flavoursome meat and delicious when not overcooked. Gammon is underrated I believe. Keep the videos coming I really enjoy them.
It looked amazing Gary and the extra gravy toped it all .the last breakfast you had was 20 bucs 😮 thought was a bit much..this was more value.keep rocking 👍🎸
Gary, 50 years ago, when me and the misses courting we used to get dripping toast in that pub in the winter, in front of that big open fire, you could have beef or pork dripping on proper crusty bread, pure heaven,
Hi Gary We went to The George last night based on Your recommendation and I must concur, the food and the service were excellent. The portions are very generous and I would highly Recommend the Steak and Ale Pie 😍 and for desert I had Sticky Toffee Pudding and Custard which was also delicious 😋 but definitely a case of Eyes bigger than belly coz after the very filling Main I should have called it a day, Phew 😄 was worth it though!
I remember years ago someone telling me that Trottiscliffe was pronouced Trossly.we used to pass the sign on the way to Ashford,Kent before the motorway arrived. Yes I love cranberry sauce. That roast looked superb. I find it odd that it is just us Brits that have roast spuds.😊
Another great review it looked superb I think what might of elevated it for me was really crispy knarley roasties but having said that the portion of meat was excellent
My mum used to cook minced beef with gravy, mash and veg and i used to have redcurrant jelly with it. I know it sounds awful but it was yummy. Years ago though. Similar to cranberry sauce taste. Well i love it anyway. Take care ❤
Gammon is often underrated. I find it can be the perfect choice for a roast dinner, just because it's so tasty especially when honey glazed Anyway, another excellent review Gary. Thanks
That looked a decent plate of food there Gary. I haven’t had a roast dinner for weeks now so I miss it. I think I will try an independent restaurant near me, to see how that is. It’s fabulous that you try so many different things out, makes your videos always a good too watch.
Hi Gary. I was eating my home cooked Sunday lunch earlier and at the end I heard myself say "That was a solid 8". I'm going to have to stop watching your reviews. A pleasure, as always, to sit at the table with you.
Haha. I'm sorry that I appear to be rubbing off on you John but please do continue watching them mate. Maybe one day, we'll have a nice Sunday lunch together - really appreciate it.
Afternoon Gary 👍that did look a lovely plate of food, I wasn't sure if that Yorkshire was a bit heavy but you said it wasn't and you ate it so you know. I'm the same with cranberry sauce, I'll have it every roast along with mint sauce. The gammon and turkey looked really good I thought with gorgeous thick gravy, I used to hate sprouts as a kid(of course) but love them now, that was a superb video in a beautiful place, great stuff mate, cheers✌️🍻
I think that looked really good, personally I wouldn't have gravy on gammon but we all have our own tastes. 20 quid in Kent for that, not bad. Thanks again Gary for a great review👍👍👍
That looked a proper large meal (much more so than the sausage & mash from the other day and only a few pound more). A great review. How wonderful even the doggies have a menu. Your subscribers are going up so fast it makes me dizzy !! Once again, the best food channel on You Tube.
You’re far too kind Stephanie. Thank you so much and I agree that it was a nice touch on the doggy menu as well as the good portion size. Hopefully 10k soon! 🤞🏼
Anywhere that has a menu for dogs instantly wins it for me, the roast looked delicious, thick gravy is the best, covered the food perfectly, looked like a great atmosphere in that pub aswell, the dog menu gave it a very special touch indeed.
Gary I’d like to recommend the Plough in Eynsford Kent. I take my family there for a Sunday roast twice a month and it never disappoints. If you go I recommend sitting upstairs away from the bar area and overlooking the river. I think you will be blown away by the Sunday roast dinner there. Gary why not give it a go!
Really enjoying watching your reviews Gary. Its great because it's giving those of us not living in England a bit of a scenic tour also. The quality of your reviews is excellent 👌. From the editing to the music and your company. We can't buy Gamon in Oz. I don't know why we don't have this available here.? It all looked lovely. I usually have cranberry sauce with turkey. 🍽️🧂
OK! As A Roast Gary , a bit mish mash with the presentation looked like it was thrown on the plate , do I like Cranberry Sauce not half always make my own from a recipe found on line , fresh cranberries of course & has sherry , port & brandy & roasted walnuts for some texture crunch
Try Roast pots , part boiled ,and create a textured surface in Duck or Goose Fat. Cut the carrots diagonally this will release the flavour, baton cut, tend to be rubbery when boiled like the ones on the plate and taste bland. The Broc looked under cooked. Skimpy on the meat, The rest looked good and no £1 extra for gravy. A tad over priced if there are two or more. Most of us would have a beer after all it’s a Pub. Cranberry, with Chicken, Turkey. If the meat appears dry, its because its probably been sitting under a food warmer, and will lose its freshness, over time, that goes for the veg as well. Sitting there ready for a big service, ie a Sunday. After all its not at home , cooker to plate, veg last because of loss of heat. 7.5.
Evening Gary , cranberry sauce, and bread sauce is a must have with the old turkey, with some roast chestnuts, are you from London or the outskirts Gary
Great clip as always Gary and Mr cameraman. The food here looked very good indeed and when your cooking in large amounts its hard getting things like sprouts and Broccoli cooked correctly, just a few minuets over and they can go to mush, so well done to the chef here. Cranberry Sauce wise its certainly a must for me with chicken and especially Turkey at Christmas, but then it must be home made. Blimey Gary just look at those follower numbers now my friend, well done. Chris
Happy early Christmas Gary that looked amazing think my dog would enjoy the canine menu ,you do go to some amazing places and all of the reviews are honest with humour keep up the good work gary
I like a bit of everything all meats and cauliflower cheese and all the gravies so I really like the carvery style meal as I think it is more value for money and can have unlimited veg etc
Afternoon Gary looks like a great venue. Nice to see sprouts as I love them. Yes I have cranberry sauce with my turkey and good old English mustard with gammon. Love my gammon in thinner slices though but thats a matter of choose. I'm surprised you don't put on tons of weight with all that you eat Gary! Another great vlog Gary well done.
Very nice roast dinner- everything looked delicious and the review was excellent I would eat this happily . Hope you got your early Christmas fix - I’m waiting for my local bakery to release their Christmas sandwich 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌🙌
💕❤️🧡🥰💜🩵💙💚💛💖 Gary and lovely cameraman, what a beautiful spot! Happy Sunday Roast Day. Looks large and good for disability friendly. Generous plate, though, I agree it did look a bit overcooked. But stunning portions. Cranberry.. yes, please. Im a mango chutney kinda-girl. Turkey looked scrumptious. Well done, gentlemen!!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽💋
Little expensive and £3.50 for the turkey was a no no, personally I'd score it an 8. Cranbury sauce,I love the stuff even have it on a cold ham or cheese sandwich even better on a toasted version
Think u needed that extra portion of Turkey there Gary, wasn't that much gammon to suffice your appetite otherwise. Nice touch with the extra gravy though, maybe they've seen your other sunday lunch reviews(?😀) All in all a decent looking plate of food but I do question how roast potatoes can be so uniformly oval unless they are bought in. Fair review and score though and I hope your stomach wasn't too bloated afterwards and you had space for a pint!!
Hi Gary, That looked a very good plate of food, well worth the trip. Agreed with the scoring too. Was that a Ford Consul on the way in? All the best, looking forward to the next review.
Lovely food in this wonderful looking pub thanks gary
Glad you enjoyed it Julie.
Great channel, Gary. I'm hooked!
Top chap. So enjoy your programmes. Thank you posting Gary.
Glad you like them! Thanks John :)
I have to say Gary, as an American I've only visited England once this last April but I love watching your videos. They're very well done and it makes me want to visit some of these places next time I'm back.
Wow, thanks James. Please do visit England again soon, you'll love it. Thank you again :)

So as an American, I'm just learning about Sunday roast which seems to be a nation wide thing. Today I learned that it isn't only Roast beef, but Ham, Turkey and I would guess Lamb as well. Good episode!
You will love it Jeff, give it a go
Assuming you mean gammon as ham, we also have pork for Sunday dinner. Great with the crackling and apple sauce.
And roast chicken. Delish
I used to live in Trottiscliffe and The George was my local! A lovely pub run by a dedicated family. The food is absolutely delicious! Lovely garden as well! Your review was spot on! Highly recommended!
Everything looks sooo nice. My mouth waters at some of these videos, literally.
Glad you liked it Mario.
My wife MAKES fabulous cranberry sauce to go with our turkey. Love it.
Delicious
I love that you include customer service in your reviews. I think it's often an under-rated element of the dining experience!
I totally agree!
Looked lovely that, generous portion. Another class video 👍👍👍
Many thanks Andrew!
I like apple sauce with pork, mustard with gammon, horseradish with beef, mint sauce with lamb, and cranberry with turkey.
What a lovely sounding combination Dave. Sounds delicious!
A mixture of redcurrant sauce and mint sauce with lamb is fabulous imho
You got me at 'warm plate' again. Can't stand hot food on a cold plate. The whole experience in the pub sounded top drawer. Thanks for taking us along. 😊
Glad you enjoyed it Jeff. Agreed on the warm plate!
Me neither hi 👋 Australia ❤🎉
Brussel sprouts, love them, fabulous plate of food Gary, the gravy and Yorkshire puddings. My three dogs would love love the dog bowls. That's what you call a meal.
Spot on mate. I really liked that neat little touch - I always appreciate things like that. Agreed, have a good Sunday!
Aye, can't fault a fair few Sprouts.👍
Super location Gary! Great to see the footage of the pub in the intro. 'Let's give it a go!'
Thanks Dan 👍 Always giving it a go!
Glad you chose this place as I have been a few times as I used to live relatively close by.

Glad when I hear that some of my subs have also been to somewhere I've reviewed and enjoyed it. Thank you Andrew - much appreciated!
Thanks for another great video Gary! It looked fantastic.
Glad you enjoyed it Shane. Thanks for watching
Loved the apology to the gammon 😂 your so polite :)
Thank you Lucy!
Looked great. Can't beat a bit of cranberry sauce on turkey. Good choice of restaurant.
Thanks Peter. Would highly recommend going if you live reasonably nearby. Thanks for watching
Glad you enjoyed it Richard. Sometimes Turkey can be a little dry which can ruin the taste - love thick gravy. Thanks for watching!
Looked lovely. Parsnips would be great with it
Yes, definitely Lesley. I do love parsnips at Christmas in particular.
Thanks for yet another wonderful offering, Gary. This has certainly activated my cravings for a traditional Christmas dinner...
You are very welcome Seb. Christmas not far away!
That looked an amazing plate of food ,and yes to cranberry sauce 😋 great review
Fantastic stuff Debbie. Glad you enjoyed it!
I live in Maidstone & have heard nothing but good things about the George but have never been….looks a fantastic pub
That looked like a really nice plate of food. Turkey can often be dry but the way it looked and from your description, it sounded fantastic. The gravy, it looked just fabulous, thick and well made! Glad you enjoyed it Andreas.

It won't be a Sunday, without Mr Gary having a Sunday roast! 👍💯✨
Haha thank you my friend. Hope you enjoyed!

Great stuff Robert. Glad you enjoyed it and spot on. The dining experience was superb!
Looked fantastic. Love cranberry sauce 😊

Cranberry sauce goes so well with Brussels and sage and onion stuffing, a great flavour combination, that dinner though a bit pricey looks delicious 😋
Sounds great!

Gary, 50 years ago, when me and the misses courting we used to get dripping toast in that pub in the winter, in front of that big open fire, you could have beef or pork dripping on proper crusty bread, pure heaven,
That sounds amazing and fantastic, Kenneth
Offering you the gravy boat is a really nice touch. I normally have to ask for one because let's face it, they never put enough gravy on the plate.
Completely agree. Didn't even have to ask, they just came over with it. Lovely place!
Hi Gary
We went to The George last night based on Your recommendation and I must

Totally agree! Absolutely adore gammon. Thank you!
My daughter always chooses gammon - since being a toddler - always her favourite.
Yeah, especially if you serve it with homemade onion sauce (cloves, onions, nutmeg etc) and a big fat Yorkie.
I use to occasionally like gammon with eggs and chips too. As long as it's not too salty

Yes always Cranberry sauce, Turkey looked nice as to the sprouts,
Oh yes Christine! Love it.
that looked perfect, the little things like extra gravy and service would make us go back. fair price.
Spot on Kev. It's why it got such a high mark!
Happy early Christmas Gary that looked amazing think my dog would enjoy the canine menu ,you do go to some amazing places and all of the reviews are honest with humour keep up the good work gary
Thank you very much, Stephen
I like a bit of everything all meats and cauliflower cheese and all the gravies so I really like the carvery style meal as I think it is more value for money and can have unlimited veg etc
That’s fair enough!
Trottiscliffe is pronounced Trosley 👍🏻
Looked a little shy with the meat portions.
I didn't think it was too bad Paul but I understand where you're coming from!
Hope you enjoyed it Susan! 😊
Very nice roast dinner- everything looked delicious and the review was excellent
I would eat this happily . Hope you got your early Christmas fix - I’m waiting for my local bakery to release their Christmas sandwich 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌🙌
Agreed! Oooo what does it have in it?
💕❤️🧡🥰💜🩵💙💚💛💖 Gary and lovely cameraman, what a beautiful spot! Happy Sunday Roast Day. Looks large and good for disability friendly. Generous plate, though, I agree it did look a bit overcooked. But stunning portions. Cranberry.. yes, please. Im a mango chutney kinda-girl. Turkey looked scrumptious. Well done, gentlemen!!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽💋
Thank you Mona. Hope you're very well and thanks for your lovely positive comments as always.
"We take card payments only" Like no pub I've ever seen.
Fair comment Derek.
@@GaryEats You have given me the need for my first roast of the autumn though Gary.
I'll cook it myself though!
Enjoy it mate.
Little expensive and £3.50 for the turkey was a no no, personally I'd score it an 8.
Cranbury sauce,I love the stuff even have it on a cold ham or cheese sandwich even better on a toasted version
Fair comment Chris. Love cranberry sauce as well!
Always have space for a pint Joe, you know me. The roasties didn’t look great but they tasted excellent! Thanks for watching as always mate 😊
Again great review looked amazing and doggy menu ha ha😂 thanks Gary 👍
Thanks Craig. Enjoy your week mate.
Nice one Gaz , Can’t beat a Roast for fulfilment on a Sunday! Lovely Jubbly !!!
Glad you enjoyed it Herbert!
That Sunday lunch looked fantastic 10/10 by looks alone
Great stuff Ray. Glad you enjoyed it :)
Can’t wait to see u go to Essex soon 👍🏾
Oh I will do my friend.
Hi Gary, That looked a very good plate of food, well worth the trip. Agreed with the scoring too. Was that a Ford Consul on the way in? All the best, looking forward to the next review.
Yes it was David. Thank you my friend, next review coming on Tuesday!
