    hi there and happy new year. i get a question. if i use a data cable do i have to wire the doors and the trunk wires? and if i have to how do you wire? do i have to use the relay? the starter works, only the doors and trunk not working .The diagram from flashlogic shows only data cable .please i need some help . 2008 Lexus rx350.

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It all depends on what Flashlogic say in their documentation for your specific vehicle whether you need to hard wire the door or trunk triggers when using data mode. But usually data mode should cover it. You can see this video for some info: th-cam.com/video/IKrMMghNzBc/w-d-xo.html

    i m installing a viper 5706v remote start with a idatalink ads alca in my 2003 nissan pathfinder, here is one wire on bypass module that shows GROUND WHEN RUNNING OUTPUT, can you plz tell me where do i hook up this wire on remote starter?

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Anand Kumar If you are doing D2D mode, then you shouldn't need to connect this wire. If you are hard wiring, then connect the GWR wire from the bypass module to the GWR wire on the Viper remote start unit. I am not familiar with the wiring on the Viper but look at the wiring diagram of the alarm and you should see a wire for GWR (again only need to connect if doing hard wire and not data mode). Also see the Flashlogic diagram for your application and it will show you dotted lines for not needed in data mode.

Can you please tell me for 2008 Lexus RX 350 has +12 volt switched parking lights or ground switched . Should I conect the parking lights wires to positive or negativ? thank you

    • @dial2fast

      You should really find the wire and test it with a multimeter to be 100% sure.

      i appreciate for the response. l found parking lights wires pozitiv and negative bat too witch one I should connect the wires from the 4 pin parking lights + or -?

    • @orel1545
      @orel1545 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      dial2fast on the Honda Odyssey you connected the parking lights to the negative but on Nissan you connected the same wire to the positive .Which one I should do on 2008 Lexus RX 350? thank you.

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well if you say you found both positive & negative parking wire on your vehicle, then easiest is to use negative trigger. For negative trigger, connect the alarm's white/red wire to ground, and the white wire to the negative trigger parking light. Additionally, the white/red wire is your source input, and the white wire is output to the parking light wire. If you decide to use positive trigger, then you need to connect white/red wire to fused 12v source as input.

    • @dial2fast

      All remote start installs are similar (the type of wiring needed). Specifics to location of wire on each vehicle, and remote start modules wiring harness will differ between models.

    Good video man, but I do have a question, where do you get the wiring diagrams from?

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      With wiring diagram, you kinda have to dig around and hunt for a good reliable one. I have found some wiring diagram to be either wrong or incomplete. Typically ones from DEI is very good but then you need to be a dealer to get access. You can try checking/asking the the12volt.com forum as there are many good people willing to help there.

    • @rbntamez
      @rbntamez 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I have a 2002 subaru forester, do I need a bypass module or data link?

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Almost all modern cars have transponder keys (chip in key), so most likely yes.

    • @mehnlo
      @mehnlo 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      dial2fast mine doesn't have the transponder key. just the door/panic key fab. it can start with a regular key

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If that is the case, then you don't need the bypass module.

    Hello DIAL2FAST, hope you and your family been doing ok safe and healthy during this difficult time.Thank you for those good videos and Im a new subscriber.I have a favor to ask you if you could help and hope my English doesnt confuse too much.
    I have an 07 honda odyssey too just like your van right?
    i've started a few days ago to put in this 2-way after market i bought a week ago and tried to use this honda-sl3 bypass module with it that i purchased together with the previous aftermarket RS a few years back, but lost the owner manual/installation guide to it. Every connection seems to look ok ...to me and was able to get it started a couple times but shut off within 4 seconds. i dont know if the tach wiren needed to be conneted or not but it said (optional) so i didnt bother try to make that conection, besides i dont know wher to find that wire from the vehicle anyway, doesnt it tell you thats my first time doing it? Do you think these two devices work together or does it sound like i didnt hook it up right? hope you have some ideas or advise to help completing this job, so i dont have to think of getting a different complete RS system or just a different bypass module? the system that you installed in that 08 white honda odyssy i might consider puting in my van too. if i decide to go with those same modules as yours will that be a complete system and not having to do or get anything else? Any help would be greatly appreciated and sorry for the long + boring text, thank you.
    TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF , YOUR FAMILY AND BE SAFE.

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When you install a RS system, it can be very complex. You really need to know what it tells you in the installation guide. There may be some programming feature that needs to be enabled. If you say you are able to successfully start the vehicle, but die after 4 seconds, then the bypass module is working, but the RS might not be setup or wired properly. The most reliable tach measurement is using the tach wire connected to one of the ignition. That does require you run the tach wire to the engine and connect to one of the wire on the ignition coil. Again, you need to see what the RS installation manual specifies for programming this. You can get the system I used, but you really should figure out what is going on with your current system as it should work.

      @thaile2337 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, thank you very much for the quick reply , really didn’t expect it to happen that fast .. I appreciated . Forgot to mention about the confusion of the door lock connection; on the tech note witch I got from this source on the internet , it says that the type of door lock for this van is (B) = Negative? if I’m not mistaken there must have been some kind of RS system that was installed on this vehicle and taken out by the previous owner because there are a few t-taps still left on some of those wires in the kick panel. I was able to confirm the two wires for lock and unlock doors with +12v output on either side so I made those connections over the old ones. As for the other two wires which I think have something to do with the locking and unlocking of the doors and there are also t taps left on the wires. I tested the wires and they gave out +12v when lock or unlock button is pressed so I connected the two lock and unlock wires from RS. I hope I didn’t ruin anything in the electrical system of the van , for some reason the RS doesn’t seem to power up any more when I reconnected those connectors to the RS to try resetting/ starting over the RS. I didn’t know that you can find a tach wire at the ign coil like you said, I was looking for it at the injectors instead where as the tech note said to look for and it even said ‘ any wire not yellow/black’. I even tried to test some of those wires in those big connectors on top of engine towards the firewall poking a couple of wires except yellow/black wire looking for 4-6 v ac like the installation guide tell me to,but the engine shut off every time on two different wires I tested . Do you have any suggestion where I can find that tach wire on the 07 Honda Odyssey (Touring) thank you and I hope I didn’t really bore you out this time and again thank you very much for taking time reading and answering my text.
