I don't think you realize how MASSIVE the machine is, and how massive that concrete is. It's literally crushing feet of reinforced high strength concrete in a few seconds. A lot of the 'slowness' is probably smaller tractors taking the chunks he drops out from below him (you can see them working in the background now and again), along with trying to wait for the high pressure sprayer to wet an area to limit dust generation. Edit: Nope was wrong, at 17 minutes you can see the tractors in the background weren't moving stuff. But it also gives you a much better idea of how fucking MASSIVE the machine is, when the blue excavator at 17 seconds looks like a TOY compared to it, while being a NORMAL sized excavator. This machine is GARGANTUAN

after a quick google search i learned that hardened concrete was exactly what i thought it was. hardened concrete is concrete that is set. so yes, they are not tearing down a dam that has not fully cured. allow me to do the math. this is a part of a damn, its close to a water way. they don't want to use an explosive because it would spread so much debris and contaminate the water way. they use this machine to deal with the concrete and the impressive amount of iron, spraying water the entire time to reduce dust and pollution in the water way.

@@dogsarebest7107 A Liebherr 9100, or 9130, converted for demo will do it faster, more responsive, they probably have much better hydraulic pumps.
