This might have actually been Daws last preformance as Yogi, due to him passing away next year. So beyond being Rock-afire history, it might be Hanna-Barbara history.
It actually depends on when the recordings for the last Hanna-Barbera Yogi films took place. There was two animated films featuring Yogi that were released in 1988 - but I can’t find any source as to when the audio for them was recorded (obviously would have been done well in advance of the animation and release). But we have the documents showing the recording for this tape happened in LA on 9-11-87 so I suppose it’s possible that this might have been his last recording as Yogi.
Pretty sure his last performance as Yogi was for the animated special Yogi and the Invasion of the Space Bears. I checked and that special was released after his death.
It would've been funny if rather than Showbiz employees, they had Hanna-Barbera's stable of voice actors voice the Rockafire Explosion for these shows. After all, during that time they also had such talents as Michael Bell, Nancy Cartwright, Rob Paulsen, Kath Soucie, John Stephenson and Frank Welker.
This show is pretty interesting I can honestly see why this one didn't work out as they hope it would be. But for a show that featured the SPP Voice Actors in 1987 no less, isn't as bad compare to the others from that year. Daws Butler & Don Messick did a good job recording their lines for the two cartoon stars, the bit where Yogi is panicing over the park ranger that music bit did give me a chuckle as I can imagine the cartoon Yogi in my head saying all of that. The songs are pretty good too, I must say I cannot believe I am saying this but it a decent showtape.

Very fitting song choose for guest. “Who can be now” is very fitting. Man the showbizz can be clever. With few changes to the lyrics it still great. Who with me.
I remember hearing about this show when I first discovered the website all the way back in early 2004 back when all the info we really had about it was just that one image of Yogi and Boo Boo on stage that wasn't even the best quality version of it. So if were to go back to 9 year old me and tell him that we'll have not only the full show but lots of documentation regarding it's conception in 15+ years, he likely wouldn't have believed me! But then again, I don't think any of us would've ever expected this to happen when that aforementioned image was first discovered. I'll admit that I haven't watched a lot of Yogi Bear stuff (or really Hannah-Barbara stuff in general outside of various versions of Scooby-Doo and the original PPG), but I can definitely tell that this was one of the last things Daws Butler did as Yogi because I've seen a few of the early Yogi stuff and I remember him being more energetic sounding in those. But then again, he did go through some illnesses in the months leading to his death so that might be the reason why. Don Messick on the other hand sounds about the same as his did in those cartoons I'd seen. As for the show itself, it's alright. Honestly, I can find some charm in the SPP voiced RAE shows from this year (the majority of the ones from 1986 are pretty bad though), but I find it to be a bit lacking due to the absence of the other characters and how they're never referenced. But, at least we finally have it after all these years.
To me, its fairly obvious why this test failed. The voices are the 'Showbiz' temporary voices, and any dynamic between the band and guest stars isn't really there. Plus the fact there were only three segments sort of ruined the reveal at the beginning of segment 1. Plus it was never really revealed who Yogi was replacing. Rolfe obviously become Yogi and Loony Bird became Boo Boo. Billy Bob was said to have been stored on Rolfe's stage. At least with Uncle Klunk it was obviously Rolfe who was out, but it could've been either Rolfe or Billy Bob
Wow... I never thought about the fact that "The Rock-afire" would most likely BE the SPT voice actors but it makes total sense... I'm sure Aaron already wasn't happy about them programming the shows for 3 years at this point but then to completely take over the voices too, I'm sure had him pretty unwilling to participate with something like this...which I can see why it never expanded. However... it IS nice to finally hear the voice tracks since all we've had to hear was the background tracks but even with those I was happy to have and I think I even want to try to use the background cassette tape to edit out some of the dialog intros and the Yogi and Boo Boo dialog that happens in the middle of some songs... "Let's Hear it For The Boy" as far as the SPT voices go, is probably the best track on this show cause there are other SPT actors from shows we have that were worse than these actors(believe it or not) so I'm at least glad it was done using these guys whose best show of all of them is probably that 1987 Summertime show and might be the reason shows like Tune Machine and Summertime 1988 were used twice with Cyberstar.... I'm thinking now that there were never any Cyberstar shows produced, using these SPT actors... There weren't any Cyberstar videos(that I saw, and I had friends on the ladder lol) in the archive and as far as The Rock-afire Explosion Cyberstar tapes go... the oldest videos in there were on that "SHOWBIZ PIZZA VIDEO REEL" compilation tape and those Cybervision versions weren't on their own separate sub-master S-VHS tape, and we(the community) had a copy already, so I passed.

I think these are basically just costumes they put on a looney bird and rolfe (they moved rolfe over to where the looney bird was), so having the eye movements would mean the eyes on boo boo would be way up on where the sockets would be and the eyes on yogi would be where his snout is. @@Youmemichael I don't know that I have any more "missing" shows, but I've got a few little (genuinely) odds and ends that I need to pass along in the new year.
Since Yogi was just a retrofitted Rolfe, all of them were changed back into Rolfe and then changed to Chuck E Cheese during Concept Unification. The bots still perform at the CECs in Augusta, GA and Omaha, NE.
@@ceclife Something I find mildly interesting about that is that while the props could be removed, Boo Boo's trash can was just Looney Bird's barrel painted green, so that explains why it's green in the Cybervision videos for the Beatles and Oldies medlies.
Carter Marcian It’s probably green in those videos because they were switching over to the Showbiz Pizza Campground stage. Those videos were filmed at Showbiz Pizza Time which didn’t have the Yogi show.
@@ceclife Oh. They fiilmed the Grammy awards show at an actual location, so I figured they did the same for the Rock-Afire. Thanks for clearing that up.
Well they didn't all close, most of them were converted into Chuck E Cheese. That happened since Showbiz wanted the full copyright to the Rock Afire Explosion for free, but Creative Engineering didn't want to loose control of what's done with the character so CEI opt out and all Showbiz Pizza locations had their Rock Afire Explosion retrofitted into CEC since that's the only thing they owned full rights too considering they bought out Pizza Time Theater in 1984.

Hi! I'm the writer/producer of the show and I only recently found out that this was a "missing mystery" item. So I reached out and said "I've got it - want a copy?" I wonder what else is in my closet that people might be interested in...?
@@stevewhite9854 Woah thats crazy. You should try to see if you have any more missing shows
@@Youmemichael I don't know that I have any more "missing" shows, but I've got a few little (genuinely) odds and ends that I need to pass along in the new year.
@@stevewhite9854 Yea that would be cool
Where is Yogi Bear now?
Billy Bob noooo freak u yogi
Why did they close all the showbiz
Well they didn't all close, most of them were converted into Chuck E Cheese. That happened since Showbiz wanted the full copyright to the Rock Afire Explosion for free, but Creative Engineering didn't want to loose control of what's done with the character so CEI opt out and all Showbiz Pizza locations had their Rock Afire Explosion retrofitted into CEC since that's the only thing they owned full rights too considering they bought out Pizza Time Theater in 1984.
Fats sounds a little weird like not like regular fats voice
All of the Rock-afire have different voice actors in this show
where is the VIDEO???
We have no footage of these guys as they were only tested at 3 locations, currently no home videos or news reports on yogi at showbiz has appeared.
Another fnaf like a movie ?
This isn’t fnaf
Bile bob is dead
#ripbozo👎😹👎
Nah, I'm assuming they had him in storage like they did with Rolfe when Uncle Klunk took Rolfe's place
*news report: a broken white and pink foxy bites a child*
What does that have to do with Yogi Bear and the Rock Afire Explosion?
