I cried because I’ve been here since 2014 and I know Yoongi hasn’t had it easy and I know these lyrics mean a lot to him. I think everyone should focus on the lyrics. The beat is fire but the words are so powerful

Near the end where there was two "suga's" Is everybody's phone is filming Suga and ignoring Min Yoongi in the crowd. There are many theories floating around twitter and Instagram.
Yes they are. The song is manly based around the idea of how people see him as Suga and not Min Yoongi which translates as people not seeing them who they really are and are reminding people they are humans.
Its his shadow. When Yoongi raps the last lil bit it’s his shadow rapping. His tone gets more aggressive like a monster that he compares his shadow to earlier in the song. Also the shadow says how they are the same and therefore Yoongi can’t resist his shadow/dark side. "Yeah you are me, I’m you, now you do know

What it's about is how people see him as Suga (the one on stage rapping) and not for who he is Min Yoongi ( the one in the crowd rapping) that's why when Min Yoongi was rapping in the crowd they were still recording Suga on stage. They looked like they were recording him but it was just an effect and that's why it faded back in a circular way because they were never recording him in the first place it was just a kaleidoscope effect.

The lyrics are so deep, it's sad and beautiful at the same time. Suga lays it all out for us. The shadow grows, the higher they shine, and so does the loneliness of fame and the fear of failure too. He appreciates what they have achieved, but the price for it wasn't obvious at the beginning. In the end he embraces the shadow and persona as part of himself. 💜

okay ill explain my reaction in sentences because one word isnt enough. I cried lmao, at first because of how excited i was but then i read into the lyrics and it hit me. I first got into bts because of their rap background tbh, and just seeing Min Yoongi grow into the person he is today is crazy. He is one talented man who knows how to describe and portray what he feels with his voice, lyrics, and visual emotion. Also looking into the theories is really eye opening, you guys should check some out. No one is doing it like bighit and bts. By the way this Comeback Trailer alone is the fastest to reach 1M likes in 30 minutes!! this comeback will be the biggest one yet

I feel like the switch up at the end is actually his shadow rapping back. The switch is so jarring and seems to come from a different place than the rest of the song. The aggressiveness when he says that "I am you, and you are me" and that "you can never break away from me" and saying that "you" should pretty much just accept this... It sounds like the "shadow" is mocking him and almost threatening him in a way. Honestly I got chills the first time I heard this verse.

I cried. The MV, the lyrics, the Music pained me so much 😭 And I'm still crying even when I'm watching this. You can feel Yoongi's raw emotion as well as BTS
When the beat switched, it represents another part of himself that started speaking - the shadow of him ( the clothes: from white to black). The shadow is telling him they are one, they can’t be seperated, that it’d be easier if he accepted that fact.

There’s actually three yoongi’s in the video.
The first one is with the beige outfit as him being his past while saying his goals for the future like “I wanna be rockstar” etc...
The second is the grey outfit as him being in the present realising how high and popular he has become. His thoughts of negativity sides of fame hit him in the present self.
The third is the full black outfit which represent his shadow as the vision of realisation of talking to yoongi about “If there’s a light, there’s darkness.”

The part where he was looking up (he was supposed to be on the podium) where the beat switched, that is his Depression talking to him. He has said in an interview that it will always be with him.
I'm pretty sure that the last part: red and black, is his 'shadow' - his depression and greed. In an interview with billboard (a written one) he said that his depression, anxiety and loneliness will probably with him for the rest of his life. ("Success or fail, you can't escape I will always be a part of you") It's crazy... And the very last part with the cellphones, it probably relates to his social anxiety, that he has to face every day, especially as an idol... constanty observed and judged... ah it's so sad..

Suga once said how he feels about his level of success " it's like I'm in an elevator, I wanted to go to 15th floor but ended up on 60th ". He said that in BTS 2018 festa. Even though Suga always was greedy about his success(talked about it I 'give it to me' on his mixtape), all the pressure makes him depressed... Another time, at the begging of 2018, the members had to draw a happiness chart, and Yoongi's perfectly showed how a person with depression feels: jis happiness was once at 100% then at 0 than 80 than 20 and just going up and down rapidly nonstop... I feel bad for him, theessage of the song is so sad, but I'm proud too, knowing that he shares these thoughts and feelings with us.

Idk if you noticed that when his shadow starts singing he says "I am you, you are me" he has one blue eye and other is his real color, If you see up close, there are some Yoongi's in the video who have blue eyes and others, when talking about deep concerns and insecurities, the eyes were the real ones, a dark brown. When his shadow takes over the song, he's literally the mix between Suga, the Idol rapper and Yoongi, the person.
About two suga's the one on the stage is Suga and Armies are focusing on him and in crowd it's Yoongi ,it's like that they are too focus about Suga that they forgot about Yoongi ,and also there was one Run BTS Episode where Suga said ' I'm scared and so are we,we dreamed about flying high up in the sky but it's too high and cold ,it's hard to catch our breath,the brighter the light on us,it darker the shadow.
If you often read BTS theory, it must be familiar with the name Carl Jung, right? The psychological theory he put forward has been the basis of BTS music videos and songs since Map of the Soul: Persona. If you pay close attention, there is a scene where Suga in black looks at Suga who is on the stage. The whole scene forms Carl Jung's diagram which consists of persona, shadow, ego, and self. Brilliant, yes!
