Johnny is always a breath of fresh air in the podcast world. Easily one of the best guests out there i don't think I've listened to a pod with him and not liked it, even if i dislike the host.
Can't believe I never considered Johnny Pemberton as a TYSO guest get. It's a perfect match of styles, and I was super stoked when I saw the thumbnail. This led me to the realization that Duncan Trussell is my new TYSO dream team, which I'm surprised I never considered before, either.

Great podcast. I am a sound engineer and not only did I laugh at that comment, but he somehow did an accurate impression of me. What do I win? Sound guy joke: Testes, testes, one, two,... three?
Love love love me some Pemberton. He is good at improve and his conversations are very easy to listen to. He doesn't always have the same things to say and he never comes off as acting like a character.
I never saw Pemberton before Fallout, but he was great! Hated his character at the beginning and loved him by the end. Great acting to pull off great writing. Another great download for a long flight. Oh... while writing this I just heard him say he never saw Space Jam.... GET HIM!
Rick's Jewish Johnny impression was hilarious! Saw Johnny open for Duncan Trussell many years ago and have always enjoyed seeing him in things. Duncan would be great on TYSO too.
Every time someone on a podcast says something like “we’re talking too much about comedy” or “this is too inside” I always think nooo keep talking this is fascinating. I think I’d like to hear about people I’m interested in talk about anything that they really know about.
1:58:38 As We See It was so good man. I don't think I've ever watched anything that made me just sob each episode. Really hurts to hear the entire second season was written... I would have loved at least one more with those characters.
Likin the 'inside' talk even though I'm not in the industry....thanks for sharing guys. True Glass People enjoy ALL the pods! See you in Seattle Johnny on 9/7♥
2:01:04 The greatest endorsement any guest could receive on the Rick Glassman podcast. The equivalent of comedians getting asked to the couch on Johnny Carson.
Also, all the comedians in the pod-verse say "sorry for the inside baseball" - I can almost gaurantee that MOST of us out here enjoy the inside baseball because it's so outside our world and it's nice to know the industry has shitty parts of it just like our jobs do. So don't feel bad about talking inside baseball stuff. And if I'm wrong, fuck 'em all and keep doing it anyway cuz I like that attitude.
Rick said he didn't understand the notion of actors being abused, and then when Johnny described it Rick was like, 'well that's the job.' I think that makes Johnny's point about actors liking to be abused, if the job is getting abused then signing up for it suggests you like abuse.
Damn right your comments are reeeeally great, as a matter of fact you're about to get another one right here: Rick i really enjoyed the inside baseball stuff even though it has no application to my life I still find it interesting. Johnny is good people, glad to see him on here and it also reminded me that I still need to watch the Fallout show. Thanks as always for a BANGIN episode (I don't mean that in the sexual way, not that there's anything wrong with that👐)
Rick talking about trying to figure out who he can trust and their true intentions is so relatable to me. It's like always having your antenna up and using your senses including you intuition to discern what's what. Because the truth is so many people are dishonest and many try to take advantage of others.
To become a "priest," different churches have different qualifications (for Catholicism, you need like a bachelor's degree and some other teaching, and you need to be backed by an existing church, or something like that). But each denomination has different qualifications (some basically have 0), so a bunch of online "denominations" have sprouted up where the rules are different. So when you get ordained online, you're technically being ordained as a priest for that specific online denomination, but it then means you're allowed to marry people and stuff because of freedom of religion in the US - but you have to be careful, because if you're trying to marry a couple as part of a different denomination like Catholicism, you need to check with the church to make sure they'd actually allow it. Basically, freedom of religion means that people can create churches/denominations out of thin air, and these churches/denominations can make up their own rules if they want. For some, it's just a way to make a quick buck by charging $40 for online ordinations.
The extras in “COMMUNITY” have a subplot that spans multiple seasons and is never acknowledged by the lead cast. Background couple meets and starts a family
The Bilt Rewards ad at the 31:35 mark is likely/possibly my favorite Esther Povitsky thing I've seen thus far.. This isn't a knock on her, I like her, that was just especially funny.. idk
Ricky, I appreciate you man. I really do. You're coming off like you're in a manic state of a bipolar episode though. Maybe that's what Harland was getting at before. Again, love you bro.
1:26:23 This conversation about reps and agents is fascinating. Major thing I noticed is the reluctance of Hollywood reps to put their reputation on the line. It’s like they believe in you enough to bring you on board as a client, but they are always evaluating whether or not the people THEY are trying to impress will be into you too. I always feel disrespected when my agent/manager won’t set up a meeting with an important person that I know they have a relationship with because they are saving that capital for another move. 😡
These people are way too rich to be doing so many advertisments.. Imagine being a millionaire or atleast close to, and think ahh, lets advertise some manscape, water in a can, stupid online therapy, so I can get even more rich.
