Thanks. I was struggling to remember the food tests. I had it in my textbook, but for some reason my brain refused to remember them unless I have someone verbally explain it to me >
Curious-I was under the impression that all foods had an amount of protein, carbs, and fat, even if at an almost minuscule level, other than alcohol, if that is considered a food. That being true, we already have the answer to the question “does this food have _______?” I must be missing something.
@@zolodash2474 I beg to differ--did you do an online search? I just did, and the first place I saw: 100 grams of boiled potatoes has 2 grams of protein, 20 grams of carbs, 1 gram of sugar, 1.8 grams of fiber, .1 grams of fat. Take a look and do some research--you might be surprised!

Hi, Are we allowed to know the formula or the name of the Benedict Solution in the test for sugar. Btw gotta love ur vids, Thanks
Dont we have to add Sodium Hydroxide ...and Copper Sulphate in biuret test ???
Arbaz Ahmad that’s what i thought! i have my exam today
_aliceee i also had... it sucks...
Buiret reagent is a solution of copper sulfate and sodium hydroxide. So if you say you add Biurets that should be fine.
It might depend on your syllabus as to the level of detail you need to know but for AQA 9-1 and Edexcel IGCSE 9-1 you can just say add Biuret reagent
really easy to understand
Thnx a lot
Week 2 of Edexcel IGCSE revision. I'm worrying about the time left until the school exam (which is just two CIE topics so I should have enough time).
Plenty of time, good luck
Update: The exam was literally just an AQA topic question file from PMT. Very easy

That is not true, and even if so, we mostly refer to the most abundant nutrient. Potatoes don't contain proteins for example
