  • Greetings everyone! Join me for part 1 of my Mythbusters Special series. In this series I will be building the Italeri TR-1B (U-2) Trainers in 1/48 scale. This has been a project I've been wanting to build for a while and in this video I show all of the work that went in to preparing the fuselage section.

Managed to miss in all your posts that it’s 1/48 and not 1/72. Looks amazing glad you finished it

Switch to scalples 13 blade and 11 blade are ideal for model work. The blades are meant to be disposable often and are incredibly sharp. Very cost effective.

I did, thanx a lot! It is very nice when a narration is merged into the build footage. Many of us appreciate!

Those of us of a certain age, will remember wondering if "Italeri" was Italian for "you think this will fit?"
Which was made all the worse when Testors reboxed Italeri kits without warning the innocent of the horrors within.
In the ancient early days of modeling fora, more than once the supposition that the people at italeri were actually making bad kits to actively discourage the hobby was advanced more than once.
But, often, this was the only choice we had.

To be honest, not much has changed. They do rebox a number of Accurate Miniatures kits and AMT kits, and I will get those because I'm familiar with the original toolings, but I'm still leery of anything they market as tooled in house. But, like you said, sometimes they are the only choice for certain subjects.
