Eventually, ARDCO was purchased in 1989 by Pettibone Corporation, a leading manufacturer of material handling equipment, pipe and tire handling machines, railroad construction and maintenance machines, and rough-terrain forklifts. ARDCO’s headquarters remain in Louisiana, but production has been moved to Pettibone’s facility in Baraga, Michigan
Since it’s an American machine I’m surprised Clinton hasn’t seen one before.
I was thinking it was a European machine.
Cummins Powered, made in Michigan, severe duty, and none of us have heard of them. They need a new marketing guy!

Applied Research and Development Company, ARDCO, started in Texas ,1958. Now owned by Pettibone Corporation, manufactures rough-terrain equipment, headquarters in Louisiana, manufactures in Michigan.

I agree about it getting harder to find deals at auctions, ever since 2019 people have gone nuts on auction. I've seen old beat up gear selling for almost retail.
I have definitely found this auction content very interesting. The level of knowledge you have when it comes to this stuff can definitely help some people out.

Always like the walk arounds of the actions. The yards in US are way bigger than OZ. Turnover of equipment is just so big over there.
Clint, not in a million years am I interested in buying any of this heavy equipment. However, I am sure many viewers really appreciate your knowledge and expertise evaluating used equipment.
I am exhausted just watching you walk mile after mile!

Used to keep an armoured truck on site for all the tools and equipment overnight. Never had one thing go missing

I wonder if they have had problems with people stripping parts from the equipment, so that's why they don't allow personal golf carts. Kinda hard to walk in with a tool box and walk out with a set of injectors.

Thanks for the tour it seems each year there are fewer and fewer gems in the sale a lot of risky pieces of equipment that could turn into something or burn thru the profit of three other machines. Good luck finding the good ones
Thanks, Clint! An awesome overview of things to look for and information about assessing someone else's problems they're trying to dump at an auction! If no golf cart, what about a 3-wheel bike? That would be faster and you could carry battery pack, umbrella, poncho, and a small cooler with a sandwich and water... Be well, be safe!
Good idea! I do not get the "no carts allowed" thing at all! Especially a place as big as this.

The state trucks, like for the road commissions that maintains the roads, here in Michigan are now running the green flashing warning lights mixed with the standard amber lights. It's because green is the color the human eye notices the most. And it's true because I noticed the blinking lights a lot faster now compared to when they were just amber.
2/23/23; . Stopped 2days video-Richie Bros. Auction, Florida- after just 4:xx mins..b/c of 'no personal Golf Carts allowed'.. Clint, suggest u ask if battery bicycles (3 wheel or 2 wheel) are acceptable? This would make getting around this huge (airport size) acreage lots easier to get around & do your👏🙏 hands-on &👂🏼 listen. Just a suggestion 4u...🤷

After watching your drone footage Clint that place is enormous. I don't understand why they don't allow folks to bring their golf carts to explore. I agree with you they would sell a lot more if the public could view it. Perhaps some day they will share the reason why especially now that you have aired it. Good video lot's learned 👍

I don't even know that Manitou is building skidsteers, i know they build telehandlers (here in France whe call all telehandlers "Manitou" and whe call all skidsteers "Bobcat" because Bobcat is the most imported brand), backhoe and forklifts. I notice a difference between our two countries, you use a lot tracked skidsteers in U.S and in France whe use a lot of wheeled skidsteers. Thank you for your videos.
Clint, get yourself a powered wheelchair. I don’t think they’d deny you to ride around on that at Richie Brothers.

What gets me is why won't American dealers work on the European counterpart machines, while over here in the UK most dealers with same brand machines no matter what country it originally came from

I am amazed that an operation such as this one can't figure out a way to either charge for entry with your own cart or, like the paint shop vendor, hire a golf cart company to furnish cart rentals. Let the vendor figure out their requirements like speed limiters, stringent rules on operations including making the carts easy to identify.
If a vendor could be found, that company could hit all the auction sites every spring.

Walking with you, via TH-cam, looking at equipment is very interesting and entertaining. You are definitely a wealth of knowledge on heavy equipment that I would venture to say, was not learned from a book but from hard work with your hands. Love watching, keep them coming!❤
A buddy in the armored car business told they scraped old trucks to keep upstarts from buying them to compete for business. First o e I have seen at auction

We don't allow people to drive through our yard either. It is simply to much of a liability. Wear comfortable boots and plan ahead. These are great videos, thanks.

As someone who worked the 2008 sale in Florida...we had enough near misses with our own golf carts...can't imagine a couple hundred customers ripping thru...

that freight liner is a Mercedes . When they first came into the US they branded Freightliner and FL was their service provider. 5 cylinder diesel with a paddle shift. Paddle shifts are dangerous

My buddy works for Richie Brothers here in NC. He had to go down to Orlando for a few weeks to help set up.
Get yourself a (Lil) Rascal mobility scooter. I had an old scooter that looked like a Harley Trike, battery powered I used at race tracks due to broken leg. I doubt they would restrict them as many old timers use or need them

Some po l ice dept use them for there SWAT Teams. I live in Westminster Ca an our police depth has one painted Army drab. Every once in a while there take it out for training.

Green light is to show if you have your seatbelt on the health and safety on the construction sites here I the UK is crazy ..
They could have enough golf carts for everybody, rent them to you, and make money.
