Yeah this is why I’ve decided to wear my own hair. About a month ago I got a compliment on my hair and that truly made me feel so proud of myself for embracing my own natural beauty. I don’t necessarily need anyone’s approval to feel validated. I’m simply pointing out that being confident in your own beauty is so much more rewarding than seeking beauty through outside means.

This mindset that black men should be put down has been passed down with each generation and it is very real and alive. I will have no part of it.
