Great video Ben . I’m an expat Brit , living nr Sydney and at the moment have my wings clipped by this wretched virus , so viewing your video not only gives me my flying fix , albeit from my lounge room , but also views of my beloved homeland . I have flown a C42 from Halfpenny Green a few years ago , it was a very memorable flight and so enjoyable . I miss flying in the UK so much . All my best wishes and cheers . Fly safe .
Hey cheers David, lovely to think my little videos are being watched all the way over there! AH - yeh a c42 on a summers evening - can't beat it. I hope to make it to Halfpenny one day....thanks for watching. Wilco!
Great video Ben. Love your honesty as well - you never cover your mistakes (not that there are many) which allows people to learn from them. We all make them!
Ahh thank you Giles!! And thank you SO much for checking out the older eps. I’ll get round to reading and replying to your comments in a bit. Means a lot. Yeh!! Are you flying much?
@@BenAtkinsonVideos yes, but not in the last few days. Testing a new paramotor wing and managed a formation PeaBee flight with a friend which ended up us chasing down some paramotorist I knew. Saving that video for next week.
Awesome to see the short field landing in the Skyranger. I’m looking at retiring in the next couple years so keeping an eye out for properties. There just happens to be a new listing with a 480m grass strip with hanger which would be perfect for the Skyranger. Thanks for the great videos. You are motivating me to get my license once I retire.
350m? Wow, that's twice as long as it needs to be for my Skyranger Swift 😉 That said, the 250m strip that I fly from, with power cables, took a bit of getting used to at first. Great video by the way.
Awesome video Ben. Great content, good camera angles, excellent edit and very good commentary and voice over. You just watch your numbers grow, fitting complements to your style and hard work. The strip might be a bit too short for the Jodel. Air to air was very good and Badminton is a beautiful strip isn’t it?
You are great and like the fact you show the bits you get wrong. 350m must look fairly tight when you have been langing on those big long runways. I regularly fly off a runway that is 385m but love it when I can fly of our other runway which is 615m although it is down hill one way that catches a lot out, with the faster aircraft (that is just about everyone to me :-) ).
Thanks mate- yeh I really try and be honest! I must admit 350m looks short even compared to kemble's 550m grass strip, let alone the 1300m one. Low and slow is the way to go! Thanks for watching again
Get your self on Fly UK mate, best thing I did after getting my license! Learned from a great bunch of lads, expanded my skill set and horizons and had a bunch of fun flying into some interesting and amazing strips. What I loved most was the fact that Fly UK isn’t a competitive event so all the pressure that would come with a competitive events isn’t there. Suspect you’d get some great footage for the channel.
Another great video Ben, thanks for posting. Everywhere looks very brown. I bet you're glad that you qualified when you did, almost clear skies at the moment. My dad's mate, my friend and I used to fly in and out of a lot of farm strips. Some were one way in, up hill, in a valley. A group of us flew into Badminton and met the charming Gary Numan, great guy. My mate was at Kemble recently and he watched aircraft taking off and landing on 08 and 26, with a crosswind. There was separation between them (straight outs) but even so, something to be aware of?
Thanks for watching again! Yeh - it's a rare strip to fly into badminton - so hopefully you'll enjoy that....and thats pretty cool!!!! Yes - there's not ATC/FISO at the mo so the pilot decides and essentially if there's nobody in the circuit you can do what you want....but you have to really look and listen out for people..!
Hi Ben, yes not time to drop one's guard in the air or elsewhere - stay safe! Badmington holds lots of fond memories for several of us, they used to have a fly in there. Looking forward to seeing your visit.
@@BenAtkinsonVideos Insch is a grass airstrip and a club. I have been up a few times and it looks like they are not welcoming, BUT, I have been there watching and been told to go into the club house and get a cup of tea three times, but it has always been when I have decided it is time to go home. Whiterashes I think is a helicopter pad, but not sure, the other I have never heard of, Meikle, not heard of anything there, but I will look into it.
How have you found the training since the start ? Just getting back into it - so much happening it’s hard to envisage going solo at the moment even. Did you find the same ?
I’m no longer training, I actually have my licence now - but I’m still learning!! Yeh there’s a lot going on but it’s a good time to crack on I reckon. Good luck with it
Nice Video. I fly with freedom aviation, so the 500 metre strip would be preferable. If you ever fancy meeting up for a flight drop me a message, nice landing on 26 Grass btw :))
Aaaah mate, that formation business was such a laugh. Another stone-wall BANGER of a video n’all!
AHHH mate WASN'T IT!!! LOVED IT.. and can't wait to be back at brown shutters actually. Farm shop trip next time....Thanks for watching
Just got myself a Skyranger Swift 2 (912). Thanks for your videos!
The videos just get better and better, cheers Ben.
Thanks very much - very kind! Thanks for watching and commenting 👍

Cracking video as always :) can’t wait to visit Brownshutters - looks brilliant!
Thanks mate 👏 You’ll be nosing around the hangars in no time 😂
Ben.. another great Video.. your getting out flying a lot , well done. 👍👊🏼
Thanks buddy 👍
I was behind on watching YT videos, but caught up now 😋 Brilliant ep again, Ben! 👍🏻
I certainly need to add Brown Shutters Farm to my list now I have the fuel range. I can't believe I missed this video Ben.
I too flew into Brown Shutters last week. Nice strip. Heard your radio show for the first time on Heart Devon driving to the airfield!
MrAlwaysBlue ahhh ! I can only apologise about that 😂😉 brown shutters is good huh!
Amazing video! Congrats!
Thank you!
Excellent Ben. I get back to training next week and all these airfields will be near me so it is fun to watch you going in to them.
Thanks david - I bet you're gonna love training again. Thanks for watching
Enjoyed that. You are certainly getting out and about.

Nice videos of small airports. I like to see them, with hangar and facility. A subs is due. Good work.

Ben Atkinson and as luck has it.........upac.ca/classifieds/aircraft/skyranger-aula-for-sale/
Cracking video as usual Ben. I like the sound of ‘nearby farm shop’. I wonder if they accept helicopters...

Thanks Chris - sorry for the late reply!!

Thanks so much tim. Very kind. What is the strip at Newland? Badminton is stunning! Thanks for watching
Ben Atkinson - Nayland is 600m in total. On landing it’s 200m slight slope, 200m steepish slope, 200m flat.

I didn't realise there was so many small farm strips around, I think there should be more.
There are certainly plenty to keep you busy!

Cool vid matey. My multiple re-booked first lesson of the year, in the C42, is scheduled for Saturday. I would appreciate no rain dances please.
Oh no!! Looks like the forecast isn't on your side for tomorrow - let me know how you get on Jed!
Ben Atkinson as expected the weather didn’t play ball. I’ve rebooked for next weekend. Cross dem fingers!

2 seater skyranger in this video - it’s a microlight!
LOL, my run way is 1000' ( your 304.8 m ) end to end no threshold
UK ATC is so strange....
