I use the Gorilla wood glue to scratch build anything out of wood, balsa or bass wood. Very nice trestle bends you've done. I hope to build a trestle bridge one day. I just finished my coal staithes yesterday and got them stained & painted. Cheers from eastern TN

Did you ever get your Master Model Railroader cert?

Yes I did - I did a video on the process and the judges, of what they were looking for. Some footage of them as well.

Your Jig is very effective and the way you transferred the drawing was genius. only problem with using heavy glue like that is it will make it harder to stain the wood. perhaps next time you might consider staining the wood before assembly to make it easier for you. Might I recommend an old Kalmback book, Model Railroad bridges and trestles. One of the best books ive ever had on the subject and it covers all types of bridges and movable spans too. lots of history, info, tables, drawings and prototype info. I learned enough from it to design my own bridges using standards that would apply. I always enjoy your work and style. Happy 4th. Cheers Rob

Hey Rob thanks man and yeah I'm learning the hard way lol - I will stain prior to the build next time. For now I'll weather it and hide the glue... *face palm*

Awesome...I just traced out the bents on a piece of 3mm fibreboard which I use as my work mat to cut out the materials...Was not as secure when gluing but still enjoyed the process...the hard bit is going to be setting out the module to fit the bridge. I opted the easy method and ordered a bridge ties plastic kit to mount the rail to my trestle. I may need to remove a few ties over the bents to add water/fire barrel platforms though...keen to see how yours turns out and follow your weathering tech. Cheers
