My best friend of 20+ years passed 3 years ago from brain cancer and I still haven't fully processed it. The one quote that helps is, "grief is just love you can no longer give". I choose to make sure I am giving that love as much as I can to the ones I still have. Much love Theresa!

I have been watching in the background.
      My heart breaks for you.
There are no words that can ease your pain.
Loss, grief is a beast and will manifest in different forms, as it moves through you, with you.
Thank you for sharing the most impossible and difficult experience of your life.
I know how painful it is.
We, your garbage people, will always be her, Theresa -- no matter your schedule, no matter your content.
      Love and gentle, distant hugs-
      Deep, slow, breaths.
And yes, one day at a time.
      One day at a time.

Your beautiful words touched me and I am sure many others. 100% grief has no end, I grieve my mum every day and it's been 20 years. I am still adjusting to 2 and a half years since my dad passed. Some people expect you "to be over it by now" but as you eloquently said, "it has no end". Thank you for everything you do.

Grief sucks. I lost my 30 year old daughter on 12/20/2018. I had no idea there was anything wrong. I’m a teacher with no money, and she passed away on my last day of school before Christmas break, so I went back after our two weeks off. It sucks to hold it all together. It’s hard. I’m so sorry that you’re going through this, and that your beloved Michael went through what he did. Take care of yourself. Do whatever you need to do. ❤

It’s normal to be a mess for a while. You’ll have a little voice in your head that will keep on saying, “your loved one wouldn’t want you to be sad, they would want you to be happy and thriving!” It’s hard to listen to that voice at first.
But over time, you listen more and more to that voice. Because you know it’s correct.
The pain of losing someone never really goes away, but you eventually manage it better. You manage the joy that you had that person with you for all the time that you did (🙌) with the grief that it wasn’t forever (😞).
    Sending you all the hugs!

I am crying with you. 😢 My father passed away a few weeks ago after a long struggle with cancer. My dad and I were a lot alike. We joked about inappropriate things to keep from crying and to make others feel better. It is hard. It is going to come in waves and you will probably never get over it. I haven't even fully accepted it yet. It seems easier to stay busy with work and prepare the kids for starting school instead of sitting at home sad. But we do need to take time to grieve and process it all. Many blessings and love your way! ❤ Take care of yourself and hubby. 😊

Theresa, there's nothing I can add here more than what has already been said. We are all grateful for your sense of humor, your insight and your ability to help us all to find the silliness and joy in life. You were one of my comfort channels I watched after my mom died after a battle of cancer in March. I am saddest that I cannot do the same for you. I am glad you had a friend that meant so much to you, but I feel for you having that friend seemingly ripped away from you. Grief changes you and how you see the world when it's someone so close to you and it takes it's sweet fucking time to show the changes.
I'm glad you recognize some of the tools for you to cope through this and the anticipated stress of the next months of your life. I know I'll still be here, and I'm sure I won't be alone.

It is very different losing someone your own age.
When my friend died of Covid people kept saying “ I know , I lost my grandma “.
I wanted to scream “it’s not the same!!!!!”
I’m so sorry. I wish I could say it gets better. It really doesn’t. You just get to the point where you can’t wait to tell him something funny happens less frequently.
If you need to talk to a professional about your grief, do it. ❤❤❤❤

Grief is something that never shrinks or diminishes, we grow around it so that we can carry it with us a little easier. The first 2 years is the hardest, it starts to feel a bit easier to carry after that but it will never leave you, and you wouldn't want it to.

I lost my best friend of over 16 years in 2020 to cancer. There’s not a day I don’t think of him. Every time I’m driving in the car, I pretend he’s there with me, singing to songs like we used to. That might sound sad, but it was really comforting right after he passed, and still continues to be. Grief is not linear and there is no timetable. Sending you, Alex and all your friends who knew him all my love. "Grief is love with no where to go."....this always stuck with me and it makes me sad but also gives me hope that I'll find a place for the grief to go someday that will make her proud. My best friend passed due to a gas leak in his apartment when he was 23 and I was 22. I went blonde the next week and kept it until I finally processed losing him years later. Do what you need to do, I cut people off for not being there for me in my grief and I helped more than I would have expected. If anyone wants to tell you that you're grieving wrong point me at them and I'll hoof them in the front butt. It never really goes away, I think of him every time I hear stupid "Jesus Take the Wheel" by Carrie Underwood because he would yell that anytime something went wrong. I think of him and bawl like a baby. At some point you'll go a day without thinking about it and you won't even realize it. That hurts if you notice it later but it's a good sign that doesn't feel like it at all. Please take care of yourself if whatever way you need to. (I spent a year at the bottle of a Jack Daniel's bottle, they're smaller than they look and it's kinda crowded in there so maybe don't do that.)

I can relate to many of the things you've touched on, and I sincerely respect your honesty and vulnerability here. I've found many of the platitudes around grief and loss that well-meaning people have told me over the years infuriating- but I've found some solace in the idea that loss doesn't get easier, it just becomes...different. Familiar.
"You realize that grief is perhaps the last and final translation of love...I think this is the last act of loving someone. And you realize that it will never end. You get to do this to translate this last act of love for the rest of your life."

You are so loved Theresa xxx and you are never dealing with this alone xxx
I'm 35 and I lost my partner two years ago, your content has been a refuge. So I'm going to tell you something.
This is going to be like a full thickness burn on your arm. It hurts like hell until you realize you are numb because your nerve endings have died. You go through this period of sleepwalking through life. You run the risk of infection and progress is slow. But over time, the skin heals and you think about it a little less and banging the limb takes the wind out of you a bit less too. Over time, things become less painful but the skin is new and sensitive and needs to be protected from sun exposure and extreme temperature which means you modify the way you do things, sometimes there are things you just can't bring yourself to do anymore.
Then as the nerves slowly regenerate, you get this tingling as a reminder of all that has happened and you find a way to be grateful for all that was and all that still can be possible, but you will always have that scar and discolouration to remind you of the loss and you take that forward as you start doing things that were once your normal.
You dont just come out the other side. It just hurts less, and the reminders are frequent but less gut wrenching, but you never forget.
Give yourself time Theresa, we are here when you are ready xxxx

Oh Theresa, I’m so very sorry for your loss. I lost my best friend 9 years ago and sometimes it is still not easy but the waves of grief do get more manageable. PLEASE take all the time you need, we’ll still be here. Btw, LOVE the blonde and your makeup looks beautiful.

I went through this just last year. He was my best friend, first kiss, and we were so connected. He passed from lung cancer. I know this is probably a trigger for you, however. 45 yrs or 30 yrs of a person in your life is suddenly gone. I broke down at my pain clinic. Full melt down. Grieve the way you feel and it's ok to be emotional with us. I love you and hate you going through this. ❤

Oh Theresa, sending so much love your way. I’ve been a subscriber for a few years now, but am not one to comment. You have brought so much joy and comfort to me during what was a really dark period. Any content you choose to create is appreciated more than you know but I hope you’re able to take time for yourself to grieve and recenter ❤️

Thank you for sharing such a raw and personal pain with us. Saying "you are so strong" sounds shallow and perhaps untrue when you are in the depths of grief (it certainly did when I lost my mom), but it is not the strength of an ox, able to barrel through anything, but rather the strength of a baby deer, teetering and tottering but somehow still managing to walk for the first time. It is trembling and fragile, but eventually you will be able to walk without trembling again. Take all of the time you need, and know that the strength of your grief is just a testament to the love that you and your best friend share.

TAKE CARE OF YOUUUUU..... your emotions, mental and personal health come first my Theresa Marie.....❤
The ones who love you WILL be here for you when you're ready and the ones who are not! Well, they won't matter. They can move on. TRUST, it will get better, NEVER the same with this great loss you've had, however, with time, you will learn how to love, appreciate, and connect with your friend in a different way. So for now GET MAD, GET ANGRY, CRY, FEEL SAD, FEEL REGRET, OR "GUILTY" for what ever reason. It's a life changing experience that will mold you to who you will become. You will look at life in a different way.
Mourning and grief takes time, every individual is different, so there is no time "set" for you to be over it. We love you and support you Theresa Marie. Blessings to you ❤️ 🍒

Take care of yourself as best as you can. For yourself. And for your loved ones, here and departed. They're never truly gone, hon. They're just on a new journey we haven't begun yet. 🕊️🕯️💜

Massive, massive love to you, Alex and Michaels Family & friends. Cancer is a c*** I lost my bestie Michael to a 1 in 1 million Cancer 19 years ago and I lost my amazing Nan to an agressive Brain Tumor nearly 13 years ago whilst I was pregnant with my first baby & her first Great Grandbaby.
I saw a number plate her in Victoria Australia that was WOMM and I immediately thought of you ❤

I’m so sorry for your loss. Please give yourself grace. Grief is not linear so some days or moments you will feel like it’s going to be okay, that you are handling it. The next day or moment the loss is completely crushing. I lost my sister in June and it has been up and down and completely heart breaking. I do know that there are and will be moments of joy and I appreciate them. You will too.
