OMG James ! The 'if you can't put your face on it, it's the wrong copier' technique had me rolling on the floor in laughter !!! That's a classic 'you' comment ! Thank you for this clip....inspiring to use up scraps - want to get cracking now :-)
I just love this idea of playing with your ephemera. You are so creative and a true artist to the core. I just LOVE your ideas and videos! Thank you so much James!
Well well well! Aren't you clever?! Truly, simply brilliant!! Your chit chat is hilarious and your excitement for the project is contagious! PS nice sample by Steve!!!! He picked good stuff!!!!! Thx, James! Stay well. Luv from 🇨🇦
That's it! I've got to stop watching your videos. You keep giving me more ideas than I have time for. I already copy off collage material that I want to keep the original of, but hadn't made an entire collage sheet this way. This is going to be sooooo much fun. TFS
Watched again and love that you mentioned about making one B & W...I didn't catch that last time I watched, and it is ironic because when I made my collage papers I made some B & W for an experiment and liked it....so two minds working a like...lol. And as for the frame you made for judging where to cut your piece, I have used for years packaging plastic pieces the size I want and move it around to see where I want to cut....I have pieces in all sizes for ATCs and Tags etc. And you are right..it is addicting, like Gelli Prints, once you start it is hard to stop!!! lol ♥
Thank you for the nesting doll scenario...i LOVE watching you collage but when i sit down with a bunch of elements my brain decides to check out!! Great ideas.
I'm always printing out stuff I've saved from the internet/pinterest, I'm a scrap hoarder. I actually have them filed by color.... Can't wait to get started on this. I own both ink jet and laser color printers/scanners... this is going to be sooooo awesome!!!
Loved this video. What a fun, creative idea. Now I have another use for my huge pile of scrap papers and bits and pieces. Also a great way to add more interest to my art journals. The post cards are awesome. Thanks so much for sharing this.
Another brilliant golden nugget of yours that I will adopt! I looove drawing and collaging but like to keep my drawings in tact, which this will allow. Thank you for free sharing your wonderfully fun ideas with us!
So clever! I have made copies of my collaged journal pages in the past to share in flow journals or to cut up as you did. Love the post cards...just so versatile! Thank you for sharing James! I subscribed too!
WOW... a super great idea. I also copy some nice things, but I haven't done a collage yet and then copied them. This will be my next project. Thank you for the inspiration...hugs Iris from Germany
LOVE this idea!!!! If my craft room wasn't a mess right now I would run to make one. Hey, this gave me motivation to get the room in order and create! I can't wait to give it a try! Thanks for sharing the idea!!! *hugs*
James, you've just totally blown my mind!! Lol! I LOVE this idea, and I'm actually thinking that you could scan and save your collages as image files and use them indefinitely. I like making simple colouring pages and my new thing now is gonna be to tear them and collage them to make additional colouring pages. You've just started a mania! Hahaha! Thank you so much for sharing this fantastic idea. You're a creative genius ;-)
I have been looking for a reasonable "great" printer and appreciate the tips on why this would be a perfect fit for me too! This collage video will propel me to revisit my stash box in a new way!
Absolutely brilliant, what a great idea. I feel a rummage coming on. My problem is finding all the bits and bobs of collage elements, I have difficulty knowing how or where to store them. I love this idea of making collage pages. Thanks for the inspiration.x
OMG! This is such a spectacular idea! So many times I am stuck and fail to get started b'cuz I do not want to 'use up' my most favorite images and elements. Love, Love, LOVE THIS! Thank you!
James, you never fail to amaze me with your unique ideas. Now I just want to play hooky from work and spend an entire day creating these collage pieces. I'm planning a 'girls week' getaway in May I think creating collage copy invitations will be perfect! Thanks so much for sharing your brilliance with us!
Omg! Brilliant idea! I was bored with what I was doing and was looking for a new way to add colour and “schtuff” to my journal. Exactly what I needed to gather together for my travels this summer. Thanks James!!
So much fun to watch you create; thanks so much for sharing. You have a totally unique style and way of expressing yourself that I find absolutely delightful. Don't ever apologize for sounding 'too Australian'. Your accent is lovely; can you imagine how I must sound as a born and bred Mississippi girl? LOL You & I together on video would keep a group entertained for a long time :-) Thanks again for making my day brighter; I always smile when I'm listening to you or carrying out one of your ideas. Have a great week!!
OMG!! What a brilliantly creative way to use all those bits & pieces!! I am so gonna give this a try. Loved both yours and Steve’s “originals”! Thanks for all you do to inspire all of us!!😻❤️😻❤️. You can send postcards to all of us....just sayin’ 😉😆
James, this is an absolutely brilliant idea! Such a great way to use scraps or even be creative when your mojo has deserted you. Pure genius! To think I photocopy images to cor but never thought of collaging them before.
Brilliant just freaking brilliant! I’m going to be playing around for sure!! Oh my goodness my brain is going a mile a minute!! 😉 if you ever want to send one of those brilliant postcards I’d happily adopt one! 😉😊 yes I have used brilliant many times in this 🤣🤣 this is just AWESOME! Thank you for sharing
THANK YOU! Brilliant!! I have so many things I want to use but don’t want it to be gone, now it doesn’t have to be! You could print some on sticker papers...I love the black and white also! Endless ideas with this. Yep, my mind it going going with this.
Fun, fun, fun! Steve---yours was really great. Love how when James first showed his next to yours that his had 2/3 of the screen shot and yours was a bit off screen. I think there is a bit of competitiveness between you two!!
That settles it. I'm getting a new printer, and I'm going to do a collage speed challenge with friends. My crafty friends aren't aware of this yet... 😂🙌❤
This is so brilliant James! I'm very inspired! It also made me laugh because I have just finished a journal that is ridiculously chunky! I do admit though I was happy to use up some scraps... your way will have me drowning in papers in no time ;) love this, as always!
How awesome is this! I can't wait to try my hand & see what I can pull together---nothing as fantastic as this, but it is a new approach! Love it, tfs!
You Both Make My Day! I Suffer In EXCRUCIATING EXCRUCIATING CHRONIC PAIN&I Hurt So Very Bad, I Want To Die! When I Watch Your Videos You Make Me Laugh, You Are Such A Happy Person GOD Bless You! So, As I Lie In Bed 90% Of The Time Wanting To Die, You Give Me A Reason To Laugh! Thank You So Very Much For That! I Appreciate It With All My Heart!💜🙏🏻
It’s funny I’m in the market for a good printer was thinking of ordering the hp envy 7640 yesterday but decided to wait! Thanks for the recommendation I’m going to look into this one also! You the man ❤️❤️❤️❤️
OMG! What have you done? This is a dangerous video! lol. I am never gonna be the same person after this! I am preparing a huge box to hold what I am gonna create the entire year. My studio might not survive this. :) I LOVE THIS VIDEO.
James, you are such a genius! 💖💖💖 I’m on the hunt for a good photo scanner, so this video is right up my alley. More fun things I can do with it. Seeing the results of your printer, makes me doubt now. Maybe not a scanner but another printer? I have a Canon MG series and I’m trying to figure out the differences between those series. As far as I can tell, I can’t order your specific type of printer. Maybe because it’s too old? Apparently these days those products are considered old after 6 months. I need new headphones and it’s driving me mad! I just want something similar to what I had, but that’s dead and buried. Now they only sell headphones with crazy loud basses and hardly any other tones. It sounds terrible. So I’m stuck with my €6 temporary replacement headphones in hot pink 😁💖 I’m going to send this video to a friend. I’m sure she’ll be just as inspired as I am. Lol, she tries to clean up her room, including purging things she doesn’t need anymore... I am such a terrible friend sending her another reason to not throw away anything at all 😂🤣🙈 Thanks for this fun idea and all the inspiration! I’m afraid I don’t have any ideas in return for you. Sowwy 🙈 When I use my scanner for art it’s just to change the size of a sketch so I don’t have to try draw it again. Yes, I’m lazy like that 🤣 But my scanner really does a terrible job with colours, hence my quest to find a good scanner (one that I can afford as a broke artist 😜). Enjoy the rest of your day. It’s past midnight over here, so I’m heading to bed (with a good book). 💖💖💖💖
Genius! I've been in the market for a new printer and have been waiting for a decent one just to print my collages and other prints I sub too. I think this printer would be perfect!
Love the idea i already photocopy single elements as my 10 year old and i usually want the same thing esp when tjete is only 1 lol but never done it this way. Must give it a go.
Alright so I kind of wish I didn't watch this video because I'm supposed to be doing housework and now I just want to throw my schedule out of the window and collage all of the things!! Hands down, one of the best and most artistically inspiring videos I've seen in a while - this was huge creative eye candy!! And Steve did awesome too!! I actually do occasionally get scared off by the 'eclectic-ness' of it all but you approached it in such a calm, no pressure way that I feel inspired to give it a go!!
