  • Using public transportation in certain cities is a great idea. It can help you save money and you sometimes get to see a scenic route. It can be a bit tricky at times though trying to figure out how to get to where you need to get to. Google maps will show you the best routes and you can choose the day that you'd like to use the public transportation as well as the time of day you'd like to travel. It can be time consuming trying to figure it out once you arrive, so in this video, I show the process of getting your ticket and mistakes to avoid to help you save on time leaving from Schiphol Airport to #Amsterdam Central. Watch the video if you need to know this information before you go so you're already prepared and can save on lots of time as well as being confident knowing valuable information and what mistakes to avoid to save on time and frustration. Life was so much simpler when you could go to a counter and speak with a person

You can still do so. Just go to the main hall of Schiphol Plaza. You'll find an information booth at the side of Arrivals/Departures 1/2. To the left of the entry to Arrivals/Departures 1/2 you'll also find the NS ticket windows.
EDIT: and the same goes for Amsterdam CS: on the ferry-side of the station (pass the highest platformnumbers and enter the covered walkway with shops and such the creator of this video walked to first) you'll find a multimodality and multi-operator ticket-office.

@8:11 That sign meant that way to a train to London and that you need a passport to go there since it's not in the Schengen zone.

Yeah, I knew I didn't need to go to London so that was the process of elimination lol. Thanks

Had to laugh, you headed down the escalator with a big sign for platforms 5/6 and then wondered where platform 2 was😂.

Yeah even though I recorded it, I didn't look up there when I first *passed by it then. Didn't know there were multiple platforms. Learn as you go...

I am German. Getting onto the right train is no big deal for me.
