The gun violence is why I left. I'm still working my American job remotely but living there is out of the question. The possibility of gun violence is too high.
You can't even really let your guard down when you're out of your apartment, especially in crowds.
The money in America is excellent if you're educated. But quality of life is not good

Honestly speaking, I’ve never ever thought of going to live or work in the US, let alone any other country in Africa or the world 🌍 This is especially true if you already have a decent job here in Kenya, or in my case, earning a decent income from your online business 👨🏽‍💻
I love Kenya 🇰🇪 to bits and wouldn’t choose any other country over my sweet home country! Let me take this opportunity to send my love and kisses to Kenya 🇰🇪❤😘

I won the Green card Lottery but I decided to stay in Africa. My career was taking off and I had just moved to Johannesburg. It's been 20 years and I have no regrets especially when I look at America now. Lack of morals and the wickedness. I can visit US whenever I want... It's not a big deal to me. My husband lived in the US but came back. This was before we met. He said it would take many years for us to have the quality of life that we have here in Africa as opposed to the US.

America has marketed itself so well globally through Tv shows ,movies, media, music etc. The average person in the streets, especially in South Africa thinks most people live like Fresh Prince, Home Alone and 7th Heaven families. And people also believe that most of America looks like Bel Air, Beverly Hills, Pasadena, Time Square NY…etc. I only understood what you’re describing in this video when I visited America, it’s hard to convince someone who’s never been to America of these issues. The US is perceived as paradise by most people from developing countries.

@@adino2909 I am already a Christian, and what you’re doing is not the best way to reach people online. Throwing scriptures creates animosity, mainly because you’re not making any effort to demonstrate the seriousness of the Gospel message. Start by building relationships with people in your local community, that’s far more effective than throwing scriptures at strangers online.

Just returned to US from my trip to Kenya. Both countries are great and they both have challenges. Born in Eastern province Kenya i have lived in US for 20 years. One thing about the US is when you take advantage of US education system and hang out with the right crowd there are a lot of benefits. There are cerain degrees that are good investments and there are many African students in the US universities. There are also mnay African immigrants who have businesses in US.. Example the Ethiopian s in Washington's DC and Maryland own alot of businesses.

This video has many good points. My family immigrated to America from East Africa and it was hard in the beginning. The local Immigrant Community played a big role in making it easier. While there are cons, the education and opportunities are hard to find in other countries especially in fields like Tech, Engineering etc

Being in the world today is quite the survival thing to do but praise be to Hashem who keeps us in our ways. Your video validates my view. I'm not saying I'd never go, but it's not something I would give up a decent life here for. And to be frank, most first world countries seem to be following in Americas footsteps so it's global. Cost of living, values, crime, etc. Makes me appreciate life in Africa (even with the loadshedding!)

I'm Black American and though they raised a lot of good points in this video, the truth is, the U.S. is what you make of it. Yes, there are issues, but there are issues all over the globe.
I am not discounting the bad cop issues, because it is real, but I can only relay that as a Black American woman who is law abiding, I have had zero bad run-ins with the police (and I'm thankful for that). I was stopped once, but that was because I was driving without my headlights on. I had thought my lights were on, because the lights are automatic, but they were not on. When the officer stopped me, he told me why I had been stopped and asked if the vehicle was registered in my name. My windows were down, and he looked at the panel, and flicked the headlights on. I thanked him and he simply said, have a good night. He didn't ask for my license, registration or car insurance. Also, he didn't give me a ticket, though he could have elected to. In my city, an officer can ticket you up to $300, for not having your headlights on while driving.
My brother had only one issue with the police, as well. He didn't allow the officer to merge in front of his car. At the time, he didn't know that it was an officer, since the officer was undercover. But once my brother cut him off on the road, the police officer put on the loud siren and stopped him. My brother knew that the officer was simply annoyed, because he didn't allow him to merge in front of his car, but that was no real reason to stop or issue a ticket. The officer asked him point blank, why didn't you allow me to pass and my brother responded that he had the right of way and needed to remain in the right lane. The officer did not issue him a ticket.
I am in no way stating that there aren't a number of officers who abuse their power, but I'm just sharing that there are good officers who don't cause any issues and these officers are often overlooked.
Regarding the food quality, GMOs are a real issue, especially if one is poor and cannot afford to purchase a better quality of food. For those with resources, it's not an issue, because when you have resources, you have options. I tend to avoid fast food chains (because they sell bio-engineered food). When I do eat out, I select the more high end restaurants that serve a much better quality of food. I'm also a proponent of cooking at home, because I prefer knowing what is in the ingredients. My grocery bills tend to be high, because I primarily buy organic and I stay away from most processed foods.
Also, my health care is very good, because I have private health insurance and the primary care provider that I chose is an African American woman. She is very well versed in not only traditional/modern medicine, but also holistic medicine, as well. Additionally, I have an excellent dentist (who happens to be Indian American) and a wonderful optometrist (who is Greek American). Overall, I do believe that one's health is their true wealth, so I make a concerted effort to eat healthy, exercise and keep my stress levels down, by abstaining from watching the negative conservative/liberal news "talking heads." I prefer to spend my free time reading, exercising, cooking healthy meals, traveling, and watching content that I enjoy.
The maternal mortality rate for Black women in the U.S. is a real issue, but given that this issue is known, it is imperative that Black women, in particular, seek out OBGYNs, midwives and/or NPs who listen to their patients and have a track record of providing stellar care to all of their clients. It is also a good idea for more Black women to utilize pre-natal care and seek out the services of doulas, who can provide a great deal of emotional, and informational support, before, during and shortly after childbirth, to help the woman achieve a healthy/satisfying experience.
I work in healthcare and I'm seeing a growing number of boutique birthing centers open up. Interestingly, a number of the centers have built their mission around providing holistic care to Black women. There are also various non profits who have emerged, to specifically advise Black women about diverse OBGYN providers in their area. We certainly have a long way to go, but the good part is, the issue is known and more and more Black women are taking charge of their health, by seeking out specific providers who are vested in providing quality care.
On the topic of guns, I do agree that it's a major issue; school shootings, mall shootings, and other types of shootings have become far too frequent. I don't know if this issue will ever be resolved, because most Americans are not going to give up their guns, and there is also no concerted effort to curb illegal gun sales in the U.S.
Regarding education, the experience is ultimately determined by one's resources. I don't have any children, but if I did, I certainly wouldn't put them in public school. I would home school my children for Pre K - 6th grade and then enroll them for 7-12th, in a good private school that primarily focused on engineering, math and sciences.
I wouldn't say that America is no place for Black people. As a group, Black Americans' median incomes exceed any other Black ethnic group in the world, even when compared to Black people in Europe and Canada. This is not to say that America is the land of "milk and honey," but based on my experiences, and the experiences of family and close friends, if you are educated, stay off of drugs and do not get caught up with the various "agendas," you can live well in the U.S. (and this is true for all people, regardless of race/color). Just my 2 cents as a Black American.
I am in no way stating that the U.S. is the best nation in the world, but the U.S. is my home (and has been my family's home for many generations) and I do enjoy living here. This doesn't mean that I don't travel, nor does it mean that I will never choose to live outside of the U.S. It just means that I take the good with the bad and at the end of the day, I'm grateful for my many blessings.

    • @thewiseones1742
      @thewiseones1742 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I agree. Not all of us Black Americans are suffering; many of us live good lives here and don’t experience all the negative things beings reported. Some cities are more dangerous than others. I live in a safe city. I am watching what is happening, though, and I’m willing to leave if things start to effect my family. But, if you have the resources to live away from all the madness and buy higher quality food and medical insurance, you’ll live a good quality life in America. But, stay away from the big, liberal cities.

America is slowly crumbling and a lot of people don't even realise it especially Americans themselves, but for Africans and mostly people from third world countries, they are so hard done by having difficult lives that moving to America and doing two to three jobs is easy for them and they can get enough money to send back home. Given the opportunity to work in America, I would take it, but only to send money back here in Kenya and invest over here. Africa is paradise if you have money, a hell hole when you don't have anything, even though our perception of poverty with that of the western world differs.

    • @Blissful-es1kk

I'm a Black American who is heavily invested in the U.S. stock market. I wouldn't tell anyone who had ambition and wanted to make money, NOT to work/live in the U.S., because if they want to make money, the U.S. is the place to be. What I would however tell them is to stay true to their core values, and core beliefs.
I knew early on who I was and never compromised on my values. This has allowed me to live a very good/clean life in the U.S.. I live in a wonderful upper income community. One thing that I know (because I travel a lot) is that every nation has issues, but the U.S., in particular, is like Sodom and Gomorrah. You have every opportunity at your disposal to become your best self or fall to the lowest level. Ultimately, you really get to decide what your life is going to be here.

It's about having a decent means to take care of your family. A lot of my friends have left for the US and UK, my siblings and I are planning just that. I see a lot of Black Americans find peace in Africa. Well, for most young Africans, life is hard. A lot just want to live decently hence you see people on boats dying before they reach their "heaven". It's very subjective, you can't say Africans shouldn't go to the US. It's like me telling Black Americans NOT to come to Africa.

@@dugebuwembo I pointed out that Black Americans moving to Africa is simply not the same as an African moving to the U.S., unless those Africans have ample money to live well in the U.S. When Africans move to the U.S., most are looking to attend school and/or get employment. Whereas, when Black Americans relocate to an African nation, they are typically financially independent or have a business with American clientele or a U.S. based (remote job), which brings in resources, to allow them to live great in Africa. It is not an apples to apples comparison, because one is already coming with their own resources, while the other is looking to create/build their resources.

Hi Guys, I really appreciate this post. All of the topics I've picked up over the last couple of years and it has made me reluctant to still have USA on my traveling bucket list. This may seem weird coming from South Africa, but I'm particularly concerned about the racism and violence as they can be interlinked and can happen at any given point. So you may find yourself in a very scary situation just because you're at the wrong place at the wrong time. Of course not everyone or everywhere is the same, but I'm wondering if we'd be able to pick up on the nuances as we (unknowingly) sometimes do here to stay clear. Bigger than that is, however, the food. I get sick if I eat junk for more than a couple of days a week, so if the food there is laced what will I be feeding myself. Because you've said before, the healthy stuff is very expensive. So that means I would get sick and needing medical care which is what you've covered as well. It's just crazy and a shame. We have some of our best friends who emigrated there and when we talk to them they say the best you can do is just pray nothing ever happens to you where the police is involved or you need medical care. Insane! For now, I'll stay put.

Thank you for sharing this vital information with us. I hope that Africans watching this video will take this advice to heart and gain new insights.
Although I have visited America, I have no desire to relocate there in search of a better life. Despite the media and entertainment industry portraying America as a heavenly destination, the reality is quite different.
Some Africans view moving to America as an achievement, but I believe they will often be disappointed by the stark contrast they encounter.
Many end up experiencing the same racism and inequality faced by black Americans daily, living in fear due to the higher crime rate, school shootings, car hijackings, encountering homelessness in big cities, etc.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, a disproportionate number of deaths affected black Americans due to discrimination and denial of quality healthcare. Moreover, black Americans also experience systematic racism in the workplaces, and they are excluded in many things, regardless of differing opinions on the matter.
The concerning food situation in the US arises from 90 percent of the food being imported from China. This is alarming as China has been exposed for dealing with dangerous and poisonous "artificial foods." The US government's decision to put its citizens at risk for profit by importing cheaper foods from China is absurd.
It is painful to witness the majority of black Americans being treated poorly in their own country while undermining Africa and its people. This creates a pervasive "I'm better than you" mindset that perpetuates negative stereotypes about Africans being inferior, uneducated, dirty, living in jungles, and so on.
The US economy is facing challenges, with the dollar slowly collapsing, and concerns about a potential World War 3. In such circumstances, it's conceivable that some black Americans may seek refuge in Africa for a better life.
Additionally, it's disheartening to witness the US government undermining African leaders by bribing them to go against their beliefs and advocate for the legalization of LGBT rights in their countries. This shows great disrespect and is unwelcome interference in their internal affairs.
For my African brothers and sisters, I strongly recommend staying in our countries and focusing on building our economies and infrastructure instead of seeking solutions in America.
Africa boasts many talented and tech-driven individuals who can positively impact the continent with their skills. As the youngest continent, we have the potential to revitalize our beloved and prosperous homeland. Sending love from South Africa. ✌🏾 🇿🇦

      @Jhetx ปีที่แล้ว

Black American culture is way more to blame than any system. Have you seen how the BLM movement backfired, the corruption and violence that took place? Have you seen the Californian law that makes it so that you cannot arrest someone for stealing anything under $900 and then a group of black people would break in and strip that (usually a luxury goods) store clean. It’s funny how black people fought for equal rights but would punish a specific group of people. You might not agree with the lgbt community but to jail and some cases kill people is horrible.

Both Africa and America offer good places for black people. There are many Africans in US who have invested in trucking businesses and real estate etcetera. There are some who have build their own schools (nursing schools owned by many African immigrants).
The only problem is when people immigrate and get stuck in small paying jobs like retail, restaurants and store jobs and live on pay check to pay check. The problem with Africa is that the leaders are all talk but there is still small progress. Most Kenyan elite and politicians still educate their children in Europe or America. African leaders hid their ill gotten money in overseas banks!! So they also have hypocrisy...

I’ve worked with Africans from various countries they have something American blacks don’t have! They have love of family, culture, and strongly believe in education #1 reasons to come to America! From where they come from and coming to America they are intelligent enough to avoid most pitfalls most blacks are incapable of avoiding! Africans are better educated and earn far more than black Americans! They see the opportunities black Americans squandered and they take full advantage of and they thrive! They experience racism too but, they usually have strong males in their homes that makes a huge difference! Africans continue to come to America ✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿

Stereotype much? Black Americans paved the way for every immigrant to enter the U.S. via civil rights. Also, the majority of Black people in the U.S. are Black American. Like any group, some are very successful, some are doing well, some are average and some are low income/poor. It's really a mixed bag and depends greatly on the person's educational attainment, and overall background (just as is the case with every other group).
