Just a bit of advice, once a turn starts, any mercenaries in your army have already been paid for that turn so you may as well use them. Dismissing them before the battle like you did at about 8:30 in the video was strange. Dismiss them after the battle.
If you choose to unite the entire Greece as the first objective of the campaign, it would be better to take Athen on turn 1(this does require a cheesy way to manually fight the siege battle though) If everything is done with precision, it is manageable to own the entire Macedonia province+Athen on turn 5.
I'm playing as them now and find them incredibly weak. I'm getting squished by the Odrysian kingdoms. I've fought them 3 times, slightly outnumbered 2 times and held solid lines. They hold for ages but slowly my troops just fall because they aren't good enough. I don't get flanked they just beat me on stats and it fucking sucks.

missiles are not the Spartan way we do not block out the Sun
You probably could have done a manual resolve with the mercenaries and just use the mercs to do the fighting to preserve your units
