    How about air conditioning and air filtering. Not just due to weakness, but because breathing on the inside when buttoned up is nearly impossible.

    Instead of the United States Marine Corps replacing the AAV P7-A1 with the ACVs they should just add these SUP upgrades to them! YAT YAS!!

    Could we get a full tour of the AAV someday? It's such an iconic vehicle at tis point especially among marines. It'd be great if we could get a Chieftain (Inside the Hatch)-style inside and outside tour of one of these, even an older model. It is an amazing vehicle with a lot of unique features, and I for one would love a good tour of it.

    They said the new aav was coming out on 2000.
    18 years later they still haven't updated the Amtrak.
    This major has no clue of what he's talking about.
    I don't believe anything anymore.

      Meanwhile 50 billion in one year is spent on the f35 program. As an American it is easy to ask what exactly we are getting with all this military spending. It is not like soviet Russia exists and we need all this for survival.

      They never did the upgrade wanted to use the money for acv,sad part is that these vehicles are 40 to 50 years old and last upgrade was 20 years ago,if they had done the upgrade maybe those marines that died off san clemente night have lived. The other thing is that these vehicles are useful during floods and humanitarian missions.

      The reason they never released the AAAV was due to General Dynamics failing on their contract commitments. FMC built the AAV, and that platform, it appears, is still going strong. I would be concerned about the contact cooler considering its life cycle. I am happy to hear of the power unit upgrade. 675HP wow! The AAV started off with a 400HP 2-stroke Detroit and a cheezy transmission which hosted a Sunstrand steering unit. NOTE: components like that are selected by congressional committee. I could go on and on but suffice it to say I am happy the USMC vehicles are getting upgrades. Glad they got rid of those Gabriel shocks. Go Marines!!!

    The Amphibious Assault Vehicle is a beautiful military vehicle, I want it to stay in service for decades and never need to be replaced by useless acv.

    Thats all great with the upgrades, but you still have the final drive in the front. Lets move them to the rear so we don't have to hit those trenches at the angle.

    I semi-regularly ride a 330' double-ended car ferry, which can carry 145 vehicles and 500 passengers, and her max speed is listed as 18 knots.
    Having never served in the US military, it disturbs me that the top speed of this amphibious vehicle of the world's best military is only _7 knots_. I know it's a glorified brick of a jet ski (to put it crudely), but 7 knots doesn't strike me as very valuable under fire...

      As an American though what do I get out of so much tax money being spent on defense. NATO countries are allowed to spend almost nothing and instead divert that defense money to things like healthcare. Why would an American want to be the world police and front the bill so other countries can have better social programs than us while we cover their asses for nothing in return. Basically I’m asking why would an American want to be the world police and what is it that we get in return for all that spending. For example we spent 50 billion in a year on the f35 program and one of our greatest enemies Russia spent 70 billion total on their whole defense budget. Everybody else even our enemies think military is a waste at this point so why bother for no benefit?

    What about the weapon's turret? That thing had to be hand cranked when firing and the scope sucked hard. Also there was a 40mm grenade launcher on the same system as a 50 cal.... which was bad... having an arched fire weapon coupled with a straight fire weapon. Please tell me these flaws were hammered out

  • @kirasaw008
    @kirasaw008 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thank you for having a longer, more in depth video posted. I am worried about the speed of 7 knots. Will the turret get any modifications I.E. Thermal sights, M2 sights slaved to the M19 to cut down on adjustment times? 14 Pax seems like a reasonable troop lift.

    So they replaced the EAAK with Buoyant Ceramic Armor, but how is it against small arms, and more importantly will it take a RPG round they are big targets. And even more important will it stand up to the power of Apri............AAAhhhhh. YATYAS.

    In my family what you do for one you do for all . so I suggest you might think about doing that very thing for the rest of your military armor vehicles and ships and jets / bombers

    The fuel is gone! I dont know about stand on those new seat when your providing air watch. You might be exposed to much for hostile fire, plus if you going over rough terrain you could possibly be launched from the vehicle. Other then that i like it. YAT YAS!

    Why the marines don't push for near subsonic tunnelling machines is beyond me? What happened to just dropping grunts by helicopter or a landing craft?

    Which is better the new AAV or EFVs?

    • @TheJBerg
      @TheJBerg 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Minh Pham EFV is dead like the AAAV before it. The replacement program for the AAV is a decade or three away from actually happening so we get this short-term modernization program so the AAV isn't a total death-trap.

    • @1alexjeremiah
      @1alexjeremiah 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      EFV Was better in every way you could think of, speed, armament, capacity but then the marine corp decided they didn't want it anymore completely wasting billlions of tax payer dollars for absolutely fucking nothing.

    • @jeremymendoza1465
      @jeremymendoza1465 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mufasa Can't necessarily say they were wrong about it. Don't recall the Marines conducting an actual amphibious invasion in the past 10 years.. But even still the AAV will have to replaced in the near future, getting too old of a design.

  • @3dvorator
    @3dvorator 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    nothing to compare with the EFV, it was a real fucking rocket over sea.The only way to make this hull faster is providing a better hydrodynamic and a power plant based on a gas turbine capable to develop about 2000 hp's.If i understand this new configuration of the crew compartment ,with these new blast mitigating seats,has reduced the crew number vs the previous configuration .Now we have 12 seats 2 row of six versus the four benchs providing 20 seats for a 20 members crew...
