Wait a minute, if Krabs' mother was poor, than this all makes sense. Mr Krabs just psychologically fears losing money due to an irrational belief that he'll "become poor again" just by spending a little bit. All that he'd need to do to get over this would just be to spend a little bit of money and realize that he'd still have plenty left.
@@jonesentertainmentgroup7335 Well, he can't because Mr. Krabs doesn't want to spend money. He wants to be a rich Krabs and let his family such as Pearl and Betsy Krabs being poor. That's why Mr. Krabs is a terrible character who loves money.
And then mr krabs would say: rarrr spongebob! You’re spending all me money!!!! And then Spongebob will say: but mr krabs, I’m not doing WHAT YOU SAID!!!!!!! And then Mr krabs will say we’re not talking about this or this we’re talking about THIS!!!!!!!!!!
You know, the "It's A Boy" banner kind of made me speculate. I figured out that when Pearl was born, instead of buying an "It's A Girl" banner, Mr. Krabs just went to his mother's home, dug up his "It's A Boy" banner from when he was born, crossed out "Boy", and wrote "Girl" at the top. Shows how cheap he is.
In my opinion, this episode is a meh. It does have a lot of funny moments and I do like the Boys Who Cry band but I really hate Mr Krabs in this episode. Never have I seen a father be so ignorant on what the child wants especially on the birthday of that child.
Yeah i agree. Spongebob's scenes where he buys things and spies on pearl are funny. And squidward's scenes were fine. HOWEVER, mr krabs was bad and his cheapness did bring the episode down. And he doesn't do anything enough to redeem himself. He says he cares, but he doesn't show it. Still, i think some parts are funny enough to barely call it a meh, however i can see why ppl think it is bad.
I don't care what anyone says.... I always always always love squidwardj in this episode. Yes I agree it goes against his character but the joke lands, and it lands so hard. The episode that comes to mind is when Squidward moves and discovers that he misses Spongebob and he secretly enjoys playing with a reef blower or him hiding his love for krabby patties so I understand your point but the smugness and confidence in his routine was SO squidward, like the talent show episode (which I think does it best) and his dance routine is a complete mess but he is so confident that's partly what makes it so funny. That routine and squidwards twerking (idk why that's now a running gag but thank god for it) will forever be one of my most favorite and probably most quoted spongebob moments ever.
LavaIshawtLink Love what you want to love :) My goal is never to make anyone enjoy something less, simply to explain my opinion and let people decide weather they agree or disagree.
***** At least you don't force your opinion to others forcing everyone to "kneel to you" and not take the stuff you review seriously unlike Anita Sarkisean. Also, at least you aknowledge that everything you say is all your opinion.
I seriously would've liked the episode so much more if it went the way you said. Especially the whole Squidward thing! You should seriously be a writer for SpongeBob! (even though that probably won't happen)
LOL Yeah guys this is a reupload. The earlier video had a weird glitch with the cross fades and it took my internet forever to upload this fixed version.
***** OHHHHH.... so not to rush you or anything buuuttt will you make a NEW vid soon... ik what you said in your update and I respect that, butttttt seeing a reupload and nothing else for another 1-2 weeks seems... ehhh.. buttttt it's ok either way, just askin
I said I was waiting for this one. It was the first Spongey Bits on an episode that I actually liked. But you're really good about never actually making me upset with your opinions even when they differ from mine, which is very rare. This was a really well done Bits. I don't see anything wrong with the term "mean spirited." I loved your idea for how the Squidward Boys Who Cry thing should have gone. That was genius, I really wish they had done that! I still like this episode, though. I really do find it funny. I found the credit card routine hilarious because of the store clerk at first, the thing with the seahorse and that old lady, and especially the "Billy Fishkin" thing. I was only nine years old on 5/12/06 so I probably wasn't aware it was overused, I just thought they did it well. It's just my opinion, and I understand that humor is subjective with a lot of these episodes.
Oh, the origin of Squidward's Twerking. Wait a minute...so he's responsible for the millions of females twerking on the internet! Thanks a lot Squidnator.
Thethreebrothers Umm it's his opinion, you don't have to change your mind and hate this episode, cause he hates it..if u are the kind of person that he gets influenced of others opinion only, then ok what to say about it...i love this episode..but anyways i respect his opinion
I think Squidward was just saying he liked the band so Mr. Krabs would let him perform on stage. This is evidenced by the fact that Squidward was literally singing about himself crying and needing 4-ply tissue, and didn't seem to possess the same qualities as the actual band.
something that while it probably wouldn't fix the episode but it would make it better is if it was more if a classic surprise party plot like Mr krabs throwing a fake party to stall while he has spongebob by the real gifts and unknowingly maxing out Mr krabs credit card as a little gag that way mr,krabs is shown as truely caring for his daughter
I still like this episode, even though you do make some good points, and has always been a guilty pleasure of mine with the hate it gets from most others due to its main flaws. In fact, it is officially my 5th favorite episode from this season. I find some of the jokes (Pearl's dream, Squidward dancing, Spongebob stealing stuff while Pearl and her friends go to the mall) to be among the funniest in the whole season, and I don't think you have focused enough on the jokes. While Mr. Krabs is a greedy jerk in this episode, I feel he does get what he deserves in the end. He was cheap to Pearl for so many years, and now he likely lost just about all his money he has (It was stated at some point that it costs a million dollars to make Boys Who Cry appear) as punishment for that, and it is satisfying to me. Also, the ending is among the happiest in the show, and by far Pearl's best ending (She has had some pretty unfortunate endings in the past such as The Chaperone and ESPECIALLY the Tunnel of Glove) which brings a smile to my face. I do think you state some good points, and I do agree with your opinions on almost all other episodes, this is just a weird exception where I can't understand why everyone hates it except for the flaw of Krab's greediness, but he is punished for it at the end.
I thought this episode was good. Mr. Krabs may have ruined Pearl's birthday, but Spongebob saved it, and he did so in a way that got Mr. Krabs the punishment he deserved.
Mr. Krabs is even worse in Bubble Troubles. He isn't as much of a main character in that episode, but that one line, "I guess I can't have her croaking at the Krusty Krab. It would be bad for business." It shows that his motivation MUST be for money. It CANNOT be to save someone's life.
I mean even if Mr. Krabs was going to return all of Pearl's gifts, I'm not sure how he'd manage that with Boys Who Cry. Especially with what Squidward said about their prices.
I didn't know the "idiot who does not know how a credit card works" thing was a stock plot. I have literally never seen this used as a plot anywhere else. And I never watched Rocko's Modern Life growing up, so I wouldn't know. Where else has this plot been utilized before?
I don't know why, but this and the season 4 review are really nostalgic to me. Maybe it is because back in the summer whenever this was first uploaded, I REALLY liked your videos. Now i'm a little more normal about it, but back then I watched your channel 24-7. You are certainly one of my favorite TH-camrs, if not my favorite. I don't know if you remember, but I was in your spongebob live stream. I've been with this channel since the whip cream video, and I have no plan to stop watching! Your the best PIEGUY! Also, what happened to the Days After Christmas videos? You know, the videos where you showed what you got for Christmas? Thanks, hope you read this!
One thing I really think about is why does Pearl still hang out with her "friends"? All they do is treat her like shit and basically spend this whole episode berating her and putting her down over her bad birthdays. What does she see in them, seriously? They're freaking horrible.
This episode just shows how much they've botched up these characters. This isn't even just with Mr.Krabs either. They don't even know what music Squidward likes, not counting the older seasons. They try to make us think he likes jazz but the next episode he's listening to boy bands.I know people like different genres but this just doesn't match up to character.
You know people can have two or more favorite genres of music right? So who’s to say Squidward can’t as well? And I don’t think boy band is even considered to be a genre anyway. I think it is just a term to describe a group of males who work together in a song.
@@theumpireofthebottomlesspit dawg that comment is 8 years old and yeah obviously you can like more than one genre of music but squidward has only consistently been shown to be into like 1
umm. i feel like squidward was either talking about some different band, or was trying to steal the show or something because he clearly did not know anything about the actual band.
Why is it odd that Squidward would like Boys Who Cry? People can have a diverse palette of tastes. You can enjoy bad music, or music that isn't your typical mo, without being ashamed.
To be fair when his Mom “fainted” (an obvious substitute for death) in Sailor Mouth, Mr Krabs pickpocketed from her . In Enemy in Law, Mr Krabs tries to hide his money from his mom so he doesn’t have to buy her anything. And who can forget the infamous scene where he sold Spongebob’s soul for 62¢. With this information and more, it can be argued that Mr Krabs has always been greedy and uncaring, even to his family and close peers. For this reason I don’t completely hold that against him because of pre-established character flaws, so this episode isn’t really a Scumbob to me, but it’s not very funny or interesting either. It’s a meh for me.
The aspect of this episode I remember most is that the audio was REEALLY out-of-sync (the video being ahead of the audio), but then again, I remember it airing on Nick UK, which is notorious for broadcasting most of post-movie in this awful, out-of-sync fashion (in contrast, the episodes "The Secret Box" and "Gary Takes a Bath" were broadcast with the AUDIO ahead of the video).
Doesn't Pearl's friends say that "That's not Boys Who Cry!" It could just be a song of a band that's unrelated, or there are two bands (one possibly not being a boy band) called "Boys Who Cry
Remember Krusty Love? Where Spongebob called Mr. krabs out on making him run back and forth to get things for Mrs. puff? Nothing like that here. Spongebob basically just let’s Krabs treat him like a slave.
This is what bothers me about post first movie Spongebob as a character. He rarely gets annoyed at anything of real importance anymore. He should have ranted and raved to Mr. Krabs about how exhausting it was to follow Pearl around and buy her whatever she told her friends she liked with nothing for him in return. He does exactly this is Krusty Love and the best Soongebob getting mad scene was in Can You Spare a Dime? where Spongebob gets so angry at Squidward mooching off of him that he literally chokes Mr. Krabs for being the reason Squidward lives with him in the first place. Spongebob lost his backbone somewhere along the way between the end of Season 3, the first movie and Season 4. I think it would have made the episode better to have Spongebob rant and rave to Mr. Krabs about Pearl’s birthday present and Pearl hear about this and get mad at her father. Then the presents show up anyway and she gives both Spongebob and Mr. Krabs a kiss on the cheek to thank them. I disagree with the Squidward performance scene here. I can’t stop laughing when I see it. It is so out of character yet so much in character for him that it just works for me. The performance and the actual song are the reasons why I really like this episode. Lastly, I do agree that the flanderization of Mr. Krabs has gotten out of control post first movie with this being a good example. It wasn’t like he was super generous in the classic episodes, it just wasn’t the only thing he was about.
@@FrozenUSA took the words right out of my mouth, my friend. Another prime example is when you compare and contrast “Rockabye Bivalve” and “Patrick’s Staycation”. In the former, Patrick makes Spongebob do all the work with junior, and lies to him about going to work, even though that’s just an excuse for him to go to his house and watch TV. There, Spongebob chews him out for it, which leads to the famous “OVERTIME!!!???” Scene. In the latter, spongebob is going out of his way to give Patrick a nice staycation, and Patrick just criticizes him for EVERYTHING, even stealing Squidward’s food and Spongebob’s bed. There, Spongebob doesn’t even TRY to stand up to Patrick or call him out on his ungrateful behavior, and just let’s him walk all over him. Seems that the writers are so afraid of making Spongebob an unlikable jerk that they just turn him into a complete pushover. SMH 🤦.
Robert Pysh More like animation reviews in general. It thrown around every time someone critiques any comedy related cartoons. As oppose to actually pointing out the flaws, and how to fix them.
The Cynamaticals that pic was meant to be a joke. How do you get scared by a parody of a picture that was never scary to begin with from an awful, awful story?
Janelle Villanueva Seashorse Seashell Party is a good example of this. Admittedly the humor is incredibly lazy (except in the B plot to an extent), but the main reason people hate that episode is because of its horrible "moral". As far as I can recall, only the last part of the episode builds up to it. And it's not like it's trying to teach something to its viewers at all. It's there to stick with the status quo (could've done this a lot better, though). Before I opened my senses, I was in the same crowd as Mr. Enter when it came to hating the episode. As of now, I know at the end of the day it's fictional universe. Because of that, I now simply experience apathy towards it (still a flawed episode nonetheless). Same applies to most bad SB episodes (only a few actively strike out as abominable/bannable to me).
you know, this episode the worst Mr. krabs is a greedy bastard episode. what I think would make it better is if someone attached a timer to Mr. krabs chest and he has only that day to spend his money for pearls birthday party otherwise, he gets eaten.
While I find that this episode is pretty freaking boring, I have to say that the boys who cry gag (the name of the band), is easily a personal favorite joke of mine. Anyway pieguy, nice vid as always!
While I do somewhat enjoy episode I can see why some people dislike it. Personally my biggest problem is mr krabs being so cheap to where he gave pearl a cake made of cardboard. The ending though I did like with Pearl getting those gifts thanks to SpongeBob.
It’s great imo because of its comedy as it was one of the funniest of the season. Krabs is its only real drawback and he frankly wasn’t all that bad. Sure he wasn’t good, but compare it to episodes like The Cent of Money and he’s perfect.
One thing that confounds me is why Boys Who Cry wrote a song about Pearl. All we needed was one line about how Pearl won a contest or something so the band wrote a birthday song for her, but we didn't even get that.
OptimusPhillip this is a birthday song. It's obvious that, just like in the song "Happy Birthday To You", the name of the birthday person is inserted into the song. Spongebob payed them to sing the song, so obviously he told them the name they need to insert. They did not write a song for her.
One cheapskate gag that was kinda funny was the bubble wrap gag. That was probably Mr. Krabs' positive highlight of the episode, though. Everything else really makes you draw from having the slightest bit of like for him.
I too, have a distaste for this episode. People wanted a Pearl Torture Porn, and this is what they got. Another pain of the innocence plot that doesn't work.
4:24 that's not true, now I do also hate boy bands but that doesn't mean there isn't art and especially not culture. the art is in the friendship and sometimes singing ability. and the culture, THE FANS. god I hate them but they are definitely a culture.
This episode came out 2 days before my birthday, and my parents weren't cheap about it. They did the best could to make me happy. Now bear in mind I was about to turn 6 at the time so I might've been too young to remember what I actually got but my parents gave me what I wanted, so seeing this (and I haven't seen this episode in a long time) is really sad. The fact that Mr. Krabs won't go out of his way to make Pearl happy for her birthday is borderline pathetic.
It's nice to finally have someone speak out against this episode, As I've always had a somewhat of a personal reason to dislike it. See back in 2007 YTV (The children's programming channel that airs nick cartoons in Canada) held a contest where kids could go online and pick out of all the current shows which was there favorite. Then on new years day they showed episodes of the top 20 picks in one big day long marathon. The catch being you wouldn't know which show was in say 19th, place until got to that number. And whichever show was in 1st place would get a brand new episode. So Naturally we stayed tuned in all day waiting to find out which show was going to get a new episode. The day dragged on and shows flew past until finally around 6 in the evening they got the number one pick: Spongebob squarepants. When we found who won; we were really excited. New Spongbob! This was going to Great! ...Except as you might have guessed This was the episode they aired. I Just remember being so excited for this one as it had been hyped all day, only to feel incredibly disappointed by it . So in short while not the worst episode of the series, This episode got really over hyped in Canada. And now whenever I hear about it just brings up bad memories.
To be fair, Mr.Krabs does get his comeuppance in the end and Pearl thinks her dad got her all that stuff so, in my opinion, that kind of ties everything together.
I feel stupid because this is the episode that made me notice that Crabs is spelled wrong. You know it's bad when you learn something from a modern Spongebob episode.
In the episode Growth Spurt (kinda forgot what it was called) Mr Krabs seems to go through a lot to help Pearl with her hunger problem. This episode shows that Mr Krabs does care for his daughter a lot. You should watch it
I think the episode would've been better if he invited spongebob shopping to MAKE him spend money on pearl because he thinks he can't. We would've watched his relationship with pearl and spongebob
Honestly, I think Spongebob buying all those gifts for Pearl with Mr. Krabs' credit card without his consent was karma for being such a stuck-up cheapskate all those years on Pearl's birthday.
@@marvinthemaniac7698 I do like the episode, I just don't like how Mr. Krabs was written. Krabs, can't you think about ANYTHING BESIDES money for once?
As far as Squidward's concerned, you pretty much explained the joke yourself. It's ironic that a classical music fan would like a boy band. And it's not the first time Squidward liked something you wouldn't expect him to like, and he often pretends he doesn't like it.
People can like multiple different genres of music. I'm a metalhead, I still like a couple pop songs, despite liking a bunch of metal-esque bands. Why can't someone like both classical music and one boy band?
I'm not sure if it's particularly fair to use other episodes like Friend or Foe and Krusty Love when reviewing a Spongebob episode since, aside from a few episodes, the show doesn't really have any continuity.
I agree with just about everything you said throughout this rant. I wouldn't really consider this to be too much of a child abuse episode that Mr. Krabs doesn't care if it's Pearl's 16th birthday but I still think he's pretty unlikable here. Now let me get through things I need to point out. The Boys Who Cry song, I kinda don't like it to be honest. 😕 Just the thought of being a fan of boy bands seems pretty discriminative like it seems as if it matters what kind of people would be so into it. The way Squidward said that Boys Who Cry is his favorite band is stupid. It's like when my middle aged dad is a huge fan of boy bands such as One Direction, Big Time Rush, and The Jonas Brothers. Same goes with me and my younger brother, we're not that interested in boy bands because it's just not our thing. To be appropriate, most girls at the ages from 8-25 would like these kinds of bands whether it's boy bands or girl bands, well boys maybe occasionally. I agree, the writers should've had Squidward secretly liking Boys Who Cry and reveal that he's too embarrassed by it instead. 😖 One other thing I don't like about this episode that you didn't really mention a lot is the scene where Pearl and her friends went shopping while Spongebob was searching for something special to buy for her using Mr. Krabs' credit card. I find the background music to be pretty terrible and I also find the part where Spongebob scanned someone to be stupid as well. If I'm going to be honest, I think that it's a girly episode of the season, especially the shopping scene. Now about the part where Pearl was crying throughout this episode, I honestly felt bad for her. Her 16th birthday being ruined was one of the worst moments of the episode. Yeah poor Pearl! 😔 And to be fair, I've seen worse moments of episodes that have to do with teenagers celebrating their birthdays and getting upset over anything. Looking at another TV show from Nickelodeon which is iCarly, "iGot A Hot Room", I've already said it before in the comment that I posted in the iCarly review video where you reviewed the last episode and the show as a whole and I'll say it again. The crying scene where Carly's room got destroyed after it was on fire. This is the reason why I hate that scene from iCarly because of how sad and heartbreaking it was. 😢 Her room was on fire because technically Spencer accidentally did it. I watched a compilation of Spencer starting the fire which happened roughly 20 times in that show. I wouldn't say that he was a very unlikable character in that episode or the show as a whole, but sometimes he tends to be very clumsy pretty often. I mean really, hearing Carly cry like that when her room was destroyed from the fire burning to the ground reminds me of when my classmates cry such as one from my high school year who always cries. I would be acting like a tough man if bad things happened to me. Anyways back to the episode mentioned throughout this video, yes Pearl got so upset that Mr. Krabs was ruining her 16th birthday and yes he's too cheap where all he cares for is money. There's another episode from this show that makes payback from Mr. Krabs being a lousy cheapskate which is "The Slumber Party" and for me personally, I think that it is easily one of the worst Spongebob Squarepants episodes in my honest opinion. To be very polite, I just disagree with you on that episode, sorry everyone, I really don't like it. Why? Because of Pearl being a huge jerk to her father, Mr. Krabs of course. Pearl yelled at Mr. Krabs for ruining her slumber party and it ends with Pearl having a party with a bunch of her friends at Goo Lagoon while Spongebob and Mr. Krabs were forbidden to join the party. Pretty sure they took all of Mr. Krabs' money. Mr. Krabs may be a jerk, even at first, but I think that episode is so bad because of how mean spirited Pearl was there. I do like most of your reviews, I personally disagree with everything you said in "The Slumber Party" episode, and trust me I'm not really here to be offended, I'd respect your opinion on what you really think about those episodes no matter how different they are compared to mine. And please don't talk back to me if I have a different thought of "The Slumber Party," I just disagree with him and I have a different opinion from most people and trust me I'm nice on the internet. 😏 Overall this episode here in my opinion, I have just about the same opinion as you. I felt bad for Pearl, I don't really like Boys Who Cry and their birthday song for Pearl, I also don't like the shopping scene because of how girly it is, I don't like how Mr. Krabs decorated the inside of The Krusty Krab for Pearl's birthday such as "It's a -boy- (girl)" sign, the cardboard box cake with frosting, the meaty sculpture of Pearl, the dishwasher tea, and Squidward's performance of Boys Who Cry song but changing it to "4 ply." Although I did find the "4 ply" song to be funny, but it just ruins the shtick. One thing I would highlight is pretty much the part where Spongebob was wearing a sea dog costume, can't think of anything redeemable about this episode to be honest. I think that this would be one of my bottom 5 episodes of the first season since the first movie. Yeah, this episode is too girly and I do feel bad for Pearl. I don't mind anything that seems too sexist like being into any of those situations but I find that this is one of things I hate about this episode. 😔💳🎂🎉👯♀️
Mr crabs did this in an earlier and much better episode squeaky boots but it worked because he got pearl what she wanted in the end and he was proud of it but here he doesn’t feel proud at all he just doesn’t act like he cares about his daughters birthday at all
Squeaky Boots is an annoying episode for a completely different reason but the Pearl bits were great. He does get her what she wants in the end and they are both happy about it. In this episode Mr. Krabs is not happy about all the money Soongebob spent until Pearl gives him a big hug and a kiss and thanks him for a great party. I like the idea of Mr. Krabs surprising Pearl with a great party but under the guise of a horribly cheap one. She would freak out like she did here and then someone or something would wreck the Krusty Krab and the walls would fall down to reveal the party of Pearl’s dreams complete with Boys Who Cry as entertainment. At first Pearl would think that perhaps Soongebob and Squidward did all this since her father is so cheep. Then they would reveal it was all Mr. Krabs idea and they just helped him pull it off. The episode would end with Mr. Krabs saying something along the lines of “Nothing’s too good for my Pearl.” She would hug and kiss him while we the audience see him secretly cringe at the thought of the credit card bill to come.
Maybe this is a bit too sophisticated for current Spongebob, but what if Mr. Krabs was being frugal not because he didn’t want to exhaust any money on Pearl, but to teach her that money wasn’t everything. Like maybe Pearl was asking for a whole list of materialistic nonsense, so he gets Spongebob to go buy a bunch of cheap stuff and throw a small birthday party. Maybe her friends leave her because the party was lame, but at the end she still appreciates her dad actually caring for her. Is this just wishful thinking? Probably.
Wait, how is No Hat For Pat a good episode? That episode was so horrible. It was a Patrick torture porn done completely wrong. After everything we have all seen Patrick do, I surprisingly actually felt sorry for him because of this episode. And also, he did absolutely nothing wrong in that episode. All he wanted was to have a job so he can feel useful and have a work hat. I never thought after seeing everything horrible Patrick has done after the first movie came out that he'd ever gain sympathy ever again from me. But this episode just made me feel so bad for him. Like how I felt bad for Mr. Krabs in Pat No Pay because he did absolutely nothing wrong in that episode, all he wanted was to be paid for his merchandize. That was a Mr. Krabs torture porn done horribly wrong.
***** Yeah, you're supposed to feel Patrick. The episode put Patrick through heck, but gave him the happy ending he deserved. He was being used, and SpongeBob even was willing to go against Krabs to defend Pat. The episode was explicitly about how wrong it was for Patrick to do sell himself out. Bad things happening to a character don't automatically make an episode bad. Drama has to come from somewhere. It's not like a Squid torture episode where squid is somehow the bad guy and all the torture is "ok" according to the episode because SB and Pat weren't intentionally hurting him. That's utter garbage because squid is put through the wringer for very little reason, and usually doesn't even get a happy ending. No hat for pat is a well defined story about Patrick wanting something so badly, he would do anything to get it. ***** thanks. Btw I love your episodes. I watch them all the time and I love Mr. Enter's videos. Our channel is a let's play channel but also a few months ago we started doing reviews, starting with Teen Titans Go. Any advice you got for starting out? Because we do want to do more reviews in the future and balance doing that with doing let's plays.
As if Mr Krabs wasn't already a worst character within Spongebob he just cheapen his own Daughter's Pearl's Birthday and just makes him a very bad father figure in a way. If it wasn't for Spongebob getting Pearl all of the Gifts that she wanted along with the boy band this episode would had been ten times worst than it already is.
One thing I must point out is the it's a boy banner does not prove that Pearl is Mr. Krabs biological daughter, if anything it would better promote the fact that she's adopted since parents pregnant with a child would be more likely to know the sex over those who adopt a newborn. I was adopted & my parents didn't know what I was going to be until I was born. They were on some sort of list or something so they knew they were expecting but didn't know what they were getting.
True, but Mr. Krabs said in the episode that the only reason he got the "It's a Boy!" banner was because it was cheaper than the "It's a Girl!" one, not because he didn't know what gender she was.
Yeah, the part where Squidward says he likes Boys Who Cry is just out of character for him. But I actually think he might've just been trying to make Mr. Krabs feel better. I mean, his performance, if he really liked them, wouldn't he care about putting on a better show. He was probably just making up that song he sang.
I've been wondering; Do you think that it's possible that you could go back to an episode that you've reviewed and decide you'd like to change its rating, and if so, would you actually go through with it via Spongey Bits? (example: you come back to an episode that you gave a Scumbob, but decide that it's actually not as bad as you originally thought, and change its rating to Meh.)
I think that's what I'm going through as well.
Well this was one season before Friend or Foe at this point Dunces & Dragons was the orgin of the KRABBY PATTY
I feel Krab's mother being poor (like Pieguy said) should've made him buy her something nice, so she wouldn't look poor or feel poor like he did.
Good point.
@@jonesentertainmentgroup7335 Well, he can't because Mr. Krabs doesn't want to spend money. He wants to be a rich Krabs and let his family such as Pearl and Betsy Krabs being poor. That's why Mr. Krabs is a terrible character who loves money.
I honestly think that Squidward's performance was hilarious.

Imagine if SpongeBob knew that Mr. Krabs was being too cheap, so he intentionally spent a lot of Mr. Krabs' money.

That's a really good theory. I've never though about that
@John Kricfalusi's Art Oh.
In my opinion, this episode is a meh. It does have a lot of funny moments and I do like the Boys Who Cry band but I really hate Mr Krabs in this episode. Never have I seen a father be so ignorant on what the child wants especially on the birthday of that child.
***** i love this episode but i agree with you on the Mr Krabs part. He was getting annoying.
hello BRRGames
BRRGames mrkrab isnt pearl father she was adopted
Yeah i agree. Spongebob's scenes where he buys things and spies on pearl are funny. And squidward's scenes were fine. HOWEVER, mr krabs was bad and his cheapness did bring the episode down. And he doesn't do anything enough to redeem himself. He says he cares, but he doesn't show it. Still, i think some parts are funny enough to barely call it a meh, however i can see why ppl think it is bad.
My opinion on this episode was best cause the dish water scene was funny even if I hated pearl's friends in this episode pearl is funny and I love it.
The "It Tastes Like Dishwater" is one of my favourite lines in the whole of Spongebob. Shame it had to be in this episode.

Love what you want to love :)
My goal is never to make anyone enjoy something less, simply to explain my opinion and let people decide weather they agree or disagree.
Of course :) Wouldn't expect anything less Pieguy!
***** At least you don't force your opinion to others forcing everyone to "kneel to you" and not take the stuff you review seriously unlike Anita Sarkisean. Also, at least you aknowledge that everything you say is all your opinion.
At least in bossy boots, mr krabs actually gave pearl a present for her birthday. Even if it was 2 dollars
I seriously would've liked the episode so much more if it went the way you said. Especially the whole Squidward thing! You should seriously be a writer for SpongeBob! (even though that probably won't happen)
"It Taste Like Dishwater" It is dishwater.
That quote was pretty funny. XD
true
I find this to be a good episode for one reason and one reason only, and that's 2 words: 4 Ply
***** Hi PieGuyRulz
Kyler Herrington ... This is a new vid. It's a reupload from earlier today.
***** ohhhhh my bad :P when you said earlier I thought in the long past! oops .-.
So... can you please collab with someone to make a top 10 best/worst Spongebob episodes/specials, please?
I like it 2
Oh, the origin of Squidward's Twerking. Wait a minute...so he's responsible for the millions of females twerking on the internet! Thanks a lot Squidnator.
Twerking was around before this episode
SarahandAshley In addition to Squidward, Robotnik (AoSth) and Amethyst also twerked once.
***** I didn't see any genes.
Don't forget Miley Cyrus.
Spencer Gage You can now add the Powerpuff Girls on that list.
i thought this episode was alright.
Thethreebrothers Umm it's his opinion, you don't have to change your mind and hate this episode, cause he hates it..if u are the kind of person that he gets influenced of others opinion only, then ok what to say about it...i love this episode..but anyways i respect his opinion
Yuyi01a i clearly said "I thought".
Thethreebrothers οk
I actually think this episode is really good, despite the Mr. Krabs crap. Kinda like how Pieguy rates The Two Faces Of Squidward.
I think Squidward was just saying he liked the band so Mr. Krabs would let him perform on stage. This is evidenced by the fact that Squidward was literally singing about himself crying and needing 4-ply tissue, and didn't seem to possess the same qualities as the actual band.
The first episode of Rocko's Modern Life was "Who Gives a Buck", where Rocko receive a credit card. (Only in Season 1).
I also really, really hate Pearl’s friends in this episode. They just rub it in her face that her parties suck as if it’s her fault.
something that while it probably wouldn't fix the episode but it would make it better is if it was more if a classic surprise party plot like Mr krabs throwing a fake party to stall while he has spongebob by the real gifts and unknowingly maxing out Mr krabs credit card as a little gag that way mr,krabs is shown as truely caring for his daughter
I feel like if Mr. Krabs wasn't just being cheap and wanted to do all this himself from his heart, that would probably suck less.
I agree. I actually really liked this episode too
Me too
I've always loved this episode
I thought this episode was good. Mr. Krabs may have ruined Pearl's birthday, but Spongebob saved it, and he did so in a way that got Mr. Krabs the punishment he deserved.
Mr. Krabs is even worse in Bubble Troubles. He isn't as much of a main character in that episode, but that one line, "I guess I can't have her croaking at the Krusty Krab. It would be bad for business." It shows that his motivation MUST be for money. It CANNOT be to save someone's life.
+The DS Guy Pretty sure that line was supposed to be a dark joke.
I don't mind that it's dark. I mind how selfish Mr. Krabs is.
+The DS Guy
It's far from the worst problem of that episode.
Funny, PIEGUYRULZ actually LIKES that episode, Karen 2.0, InSPONGEiac and Oral Report!
You're a lot calmer than Mr. Enter, I'll tell you that. Now, I like Mr. Enter, but the dude has some issues.
I took these times for granted lmao, I still love these. Hope you’re doing well, pieguy.
4:02 It's the Bobmucs transition! *LE GASP*
I actually like this episode.
AntonyBlalock I love that show!lol
I take it back, I do remember seeing this plot on "Ned's Declassified" with Cookie.
***** I remember it being between Ned's Declassified with Cookie and also Lilo and Stitch the show did one too.
1:37 What if she was adopted at birth?
Would it make sense if Spongebob liked Boys Who Cry.
Or Squidward just acted like he liked the music in order to perform on stage? That fits his character.
You know people can have two or more favorite genres of music right? So who’s to say Squidward can’t as well? And I don’t think boy band is even considered to be a genre anyway. I think it is just a term to describe a group of males who work together in a song.
@@theumpireofthebottomlesspit dawg that comment is 8 years old and yeah obviously you can like more than one genre of music but squidward has only consistently been shown to be into like 1
This episode made Pieguy's tear ducts give issue
He couldn't use just any tissue
@@Ryan-id1kr he needed 4 ply 4 ply when he cry
umm. i feel like squidward was either talking about some different band, or was trying to steal the show or something because he clearly did not know anything about the actual band.
Why is it odd that Squidward would like Boys Who Cry? People can have a diverse palette of tastes. You can enjoy bad music, or music that isn't your typical mo, without being ashamed.
+Eltrio2 What is "bad music" exactly?
Skeeter Mania Music that isn't good.
Because it’s creepy
You're right about Sailor Mouth, Enemy in Law and Born Again Krabs. Eugene Krabs loves money more than anything. So, I say he has to be arrested.
Wait isn't the creditcard that spongebob uses that of mr. Crabs?
Greg Leland that was to squidward
8:46 But the number one spot usually speaks out to you, right Pieguy?
SMH 🤦.
Mean-spirited is the Mary Sue of Spongebob, a buzzword thrown around by people who don't know how character critique works
Robert Pysh More like animation reviews in general. It thrown around every time someone critiques any comedy related cartoons. As oppose to actually pointing out the flaws, and how to fix them.
Robert Pysh these kind of pics make me more terrified of creepy pastas
The Cynamaticals that pic was meant to be a joke. How do you get scared by a parody of a picture that was never scary to begin with from an awful, awful story?
Robert Pysh logic
8:40 oh PieGuy just u wait till one Coarse Meal probably my most hated episode of the show
While I find that this episode is pretty freaking boring, I have to say that the boys who cry gag (the name of the band), is easily a personal favorite joke of mine.
When I first watched this, it just nothing to me. I didn't feel something bad about this episode. Its only decent.
One thing that confounds me is why Boys Who Cry wrote a song about Pearl. All we needed was one line about how Pearl won a contest or something so the band wrote a birthday song for her, but we didn't even get that.
What do you mean? They never wrote a song about Pearl
wariolandgoldpiramid "It's all about _Pearl_, on her 16th birthday!
OptimusPhillip this is a birthday song. It's obvious that, just like in the song "Happy Birthday To You", the name of the birthday person is inserted into the song. Spongebob payed them to sing the song, so obviously he told them the name they need to insert.
They did not write a song for her.
I love the death ray eyes
I guess Squidward sometimes just has a inner modern teen girl
This episode came out 2 days before my 6th birthday and my parents wren't cheap
One cheapskate gag that was kinda funny was the bubble wrap gag. That was probably Mr. Krabs' positive highlight of the episode, though. Everything else really makes you draw from having the slightest bit of like for him.
While I do like this episode, I understand a lot of the points you give
I too, have a distaste for this episode. People wanted a Pearl Torture Porn, and this is what they got. Another pain of the innocence plot that doesn't work.
I quite liked Squidward's boys who cry performance.
Especially because he promised he wouldn't be cheap.
PIEGUYRULZ IS AWESOME
Meh, I like this episode.
When you get to season 7, and you're at One Corse Meal and/or A Pal For Gary, say "Scumbob. You all know why. Next!"
Adam Baldwin And Stuck In The Wringer as well.
No, no, no. He will go into these episodes in detail
I have a suggestion for Spongey Bits.
Perhaps either "Every Scumbob Episode from Seasons 4-6" or "Every Meh Episode from Seasons 4-6" could be done.
Uhhh, that would take a lot of time... Making it and watching it
To be fair, Mr.Krabs does get his comeuppance in the end and Pearl thinks her dad got her all that stuff so, in my opinion, that kind of ties everything together.
Do Spongey Bits on Choir Boys please :D

You can find the inital reviews in the "Every Episode of Spongebob Reviewed: Season

Molly Awesomeness season 6
I hope to see Pieguyrulz take on The Seddie Arc on Bottom of the Bakery.
I feel stupid because this is the episode that made me notice that Crabs is spelled wrong. You know it's bad when you learn something from a modern Spongebob episode.
I wouldn't consider season 4 to be a modern season.
In the episode Growth Spurt (kinda forgot what it was called) Mr Krabs seems to go through a lot to help Pearl with her hunger problem. This episode shows that Mr Krabs does care for his daughter a lot. You should watch it
I know this is old... But he stole food from anyone instead of paying for food for his daughter... Yeah.. Best parent ever...
@@ErimlRGG it was at night the stores were probably closed
I think the episode would've been better if he invited spongebob shopping to MAKE him spend money on pearl because he thinks he can't. We would've watched his relationship with pearl and spongebob
Honestly, I think Spongebob buying all those gifts for Pearl with Mr. Krabs' credit card without his consent was karma for being such a stuck-up cheapskate all those years on Pearl's birthday.
Yeah, he did deserve that.
@@artbytesia I'm glad someone else agrees.
Next time, maybe you should put "Rule of Dumb" in number two instead.
All of your thoughts were my thoughts XD
The credit card thing also happened in Apple and Onion’s episode Falafel’s Fun Day.
I actually quite like that bizarre show.
Do you still think SB should be cancelled? If so, why? I think it's getting a lot better.
Who thought that he would change the rating at 4:01 ???
. . . I used to think that Boys Who Cry were cool when I was younger, and Chip Skylark XDDD
I hate Pearl more than Krabs in this episode.
Me too
I'm not sure if it's particularly fair to use other episodes like Friend or Foe and Krusty Love when reviewing a Spongebob episode since, aside from a few episodes, the show doesn't really have any continuity.
It’s an Animated Atrocity,
I agree with just about everything you said throughout this rant.
Hey PieGuy, can you please put an upcoming review at the end of your videos like Mr. Enter does?
But I love squidwards performance
*****
Yeah, you're supposed to feel Patrick.

@@angelbun-art hey this is not boys who cry
It's because He knows that she's not his kid

He also would've fired SpongeBob
Yeah, the part where Squidward says he likes Boys Who Cry is just out of character for him. But I actually think he might've just been trying to make Mr. Krabs feel better. I mean, his performance, if he really liked them, wouldn't he care about putting on a better show. He was probably just making up that song he sang.
It wasn’t out of character considering he could’ve said it in order to perform on stage.
@@raszze Good point.
Pieguy, if I ask for a crossover video, would you remember me?
I've been wondering; Do you think that it's possible that you could go back to an episode that you've reviewed and decide you'd like to change its rating, and if so, would you actually go through with it via Spongey Bits? (example: you come back to an episode that you gave a Scumbob, but decide that it's actually not as bad as you originally thought, and change its rating to Meh.)
Long question short, what's your policy on episode rating revisions?
I've answered this question elsewhere and the short answer is that I'm confident enough in my ratings that a situation like that should never occur.
***** I see. Thanks for taking the time to reply, and keep doing what you do!
Am I the only one who likes this episode
One problem I have on his episode strangely is that I felt sorry for Pearl. And I don’t like Pearl
