Really appreciate the hype-free and non-clickbait content. It brings a level of maturity to the discussions.
Always a great content 👍
If the price is right then the Canadiens would be fools not to gamble on a guy who is only 26 and has scored 30+ goals or been on pace for 30+ 6 times in 7 seasons, Including seasons of 36 and 44. Not including last season cause he missed almost the whole year in the NHL program.
I would say NHL environment over the Ligia is massive. So I think Iginla’s environment would’ve been completely different.
Hope everything works out for Laine wherever he lands.
Hot take! Convincingness is indeed a word 😅
As for Laine, it is more of a buy low, sell high risk assessment. No?
Laine looked so good when he came in to the league, but I don't see him the same way now. No go.
Decentralized draft : Bettman found a way to avoid getting booed…
Panthers drafted Huberdeau, Barkov and Ekblad, albeit not 3 years in a row.
Probably not going to draft Lindstrom 5th after that Herniated disc came out, it's a long term injury that can impact his career it's better to Iginla or even Eiserman if Demidov is taken. Idk if Lindstrom is in consideration anymore it's too big of a risk, especially with how good Tig Iginla is
Interesting how you always look for the 'fit' on any/every prominent player available. .. and
Do you think NHL scouts can really differentiate between Senneke's late growth and that Iginla is one of the youngest kids in this draft? And
Could Laine deal with the spotlight in Montreal?!? would it be good for him personally
I’d like to see Ghule paired up with WiFi to protect him and see if WiFi can elevate his game.
I’d rather see Strubble paired with Ghule shut down and 2 way play
Matheson can get a decent return, but low sell high.
Ghule LD#1 Strubble RD#1 ( Strubble played RD in college.
Harris should get a good return too.
Keep wifi unless they get some grit at forward.
I want Joshua in the middle 6
Duclair would be a decent free agent signing or Perron too.
Pretty entertaining/interesting idea of a potential Habs-Columbus draft ranking flip. Might be possible this would be discussed beforehand and only decided after choice number 3 is known.
58:55 Ekblad and Huberdeau (leads to Tkachuk)
The soup of the day no good the soup of the day no good . Will you participe in a live show at the draft sir Basu and sir Godin?
29:42 who said Levshunov will be the best D of the draft? Who said he will be one of the 5 best players of the draft , or even one of the 10-15 bests of the draft? Nobody can tell it.
48:31 Stamkos yes
If Demidov and Lindstrom are gone, I think the Habs will go with Igilna; Gallager is on his way out and they’ll need another character player that can get physical, an “in your face” board play style, good shot, excellent puck protection and great leadership, that’s the guy they’ll go with, he’s a better version of Gallager with a more “outside of the slot” kind of style tho, but a similar player with more upsides otherwise
Toffoli would be a much better fit than Laine.
Laine will probably end up on Team Finland, euh, sorry, Carolina, in a trade involving Necas.
Isn’t Columbus a dark horse for Demidov since they got Wasell as a GM now and he does like Russians. I wouldn’t say they’re out completely
How about Montreal makes the trade if Columbus covers 8 million what's his name celery
Last 5 years, but last year was a player assistance year. Technically, he stayed healthy last year.
33:27 "Yeah he’s big and powerful" BUT he plays soft like a charmin paper toilet roll 🧻. 6’5 but plays like a scary 5’6.
laine if they can send salary back like dcorak and anderson and a d man, for laine
a million billion is a quadrillion
Laine to utah makes more sense
Especially If Utah gets Ehlers too
I have the greatest respect for Arpon. A great hockey mind!
However, Laine is the most toxic player in the league, maybe excepting PLD. Keep that weed out of Montreal.
However, if Columbus really wants to get rid of him, they can send him to us, along with their fourth overall, for our 26th overall. Solidify our future!
Habs should draft Michkov at 5
Could Habs trade Anderson for liane
Not straight up
Never!
Not a Habs fan, but this rumour brings bad energy to the team.
Don’t do it Montreal.
Dtaft 6'4," Lindstrom at 5
Trade with Utah for their #6 OA
Draft Silayev 6'7"
Move up from 26 to 22
Draft Dean Letourneau 6'7"😂
Does Lane have the type of culture the Habs want to create? besides the talent anderson has talent also but last season we did not see it right. why Lane any better? we saw PL Dubois ask for trades but what in the world did LA do signing a 8 years at 8 million + ? illogical no? now Washington have him? lets hope he has a great season in Washington
Call me crazy, but I think a trade along the lines of 5th overall+Dvorak for Laine+Johnson could be a possibility.
Johnson has been talked about as a potential Hughes target, he'd add some much needed insurance at 2C and definitely helps accelerate the rebuild. Laine would add a ton of size and goal scoring to the top 6 which is something we desperately need.
From Columbus' perspective, maybe losing Laine is going to make them fully commit to a youth movement. If that's the case then having picks 4 AND 5 in this draft would be massive for them, they could end up with Lindstrom and Demidov if they wanted.
Ok, you're crazy 😉
How about HuGo finds a way for Montréal to pick at 4 & 5 to end up with Lindstrom and Demi?
Marc's take on trading picks with Columbus in a Laine deal was very interesting...interesting indeed.
Laine, like, Pierre-Luc Dubois, wanted out from two teams. Not a good attitude.
IMO, a flat out No to Laine. Too many red flags. Under performing high salary to deal with. Demands of being traded out of not one, but two teams. He's another PLD. No thanks. He is not a fit for what the Habs want to create.
hughes and gorten seam to put a premium on attitude and work ethic, doubtful laine is part of their plan
Toffoli is another patching stuff.
no way demidov slips to 5th
No
My gut says not a good fit.
6’5” but doesn’t know to use his size
Basically the Tyler Myers of forwards
They are not going to touch Laine even with a pole.
They talked about bringing guys who wants to play here with the right mindset. Laine is donea anyway
Would anyone ask Demidov about his views on Putin, Ukraine etc.?
How can a slow, lazy and disengaged player be a good fit?
Buy low, sell high.
@@RandomPlaceHolderName This 100%
No thanks. Laine wasn't a fit in Winnipeg and now he's not a fit in Columbus. We don't want this guy on our team.
Dumbest take I’ve ever heard.
Need to move bad contracts that end in next few years not pick up another one.
Gallagher 6.5
Anderson 5.5
Laine 8.7
20.7 million for 3 players
Gallagher hard working but bottom 6
Anderson needs to really show something
Laine too many questions
DVO can be moved at trade deadline to a team that needs centre depth or injuries come up.
Rather trade Matheson for a Necas or young asset
and re-sign a Taffoli or Monahan for 2-3-4 years until Iginla is ready to take a spot in top 6
No
CH a pas besoin de Laine du tout. Pas du tout. CH a besoin de talent élite. Un producteur de 90pts.
Look if Matheson gets me the player we want bye 👋. You can sign a veteran dman for the experience imo. You're not keeping Matheson long term anyways value isn't going to be higher . Dooo eeet
Matheson's still got 4-5 years as a solid 50+ point elite skating Dman. No need to trade him
Laine ain’t a good fit anywhere 😂
Laine needs to stay the effff out of Montreal. Don’t want him on my team.
No he’s not
Terrible take
