Umpf! Jeremy had to clean his shorts after that one. Instructional and entertaining. ....and thanks to Jeremy for his calm demeanor and courage to be the test pilot on the re-boot. Thanks guys.

Good demo/real emergency - YES ...keep practising those emergency scenarios until the automatic response is calm, smooth & routine!

Haha I'm with Jeremy. When the aircraft breaks it's YOUR aircraft 🤣

Thanks for the ride along guys. Jeremy is made of stern stuff as he got back in the aircraft. Good on ya Jeremy. Climb profile is important. I smile to remember three things useless to a pilot: Fuel in the pump, Runway behind you, Altitude above you. Cheers.

That’s why you train, train and train some more. Muscle memory is important in high stress situations. WTG guys.

Beautifully handled: textbook !! Henry, I presume you were pumping the throttle with your left hand ? Says it all about gyros (and your skill) that you were able to get it down with no apparent drama and very little runway left. Great vid. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for sharing with us, great reaction and demonstrates why it's important not to be behind the height/velocity curve so you can recover. I'm assuming that was the first flight of the day Henry? I'm assuming you'd done a run-up and checked both Fadec channels?
Bit worried that even with dual Fadec channels on Rotax iS a single sensor could cause a partial but significant loss of power.

To answer your questions, yes, a run-up was done and it was the first of the day. As in our disclaimer in the beginning of the video, we don't show everything for context and time. Thanks for watching!

@@AdventureAir Thanks Henry, just adds a bit more context to it. Did the Lane A and B lights flash to highlight the issue. Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

+@jasonrwilkinson9216 Lane A was the issue and you can see the warning light flashing prior to landing during the emergency.

Great video, thank you. Question if you had just crossed the tree line and that happened. I’m from the fixed wing world land straight ahead. In a Gyro could you just do a nose down to maintain desired airspeed but also a hard pedal turn to basically do a 180. I know a 3:1 glide isn’t great to start with but I guess what I’m asking can a gyro do the impossible turn safely. I would rather land on the grass or just over the threshold if given a choice. Thank you in advance if you have time to answer. Love your videos! Learning lots!

Thanks for your question. Yes the gyro can do the impossible turn. It's been demonstrated in practice and in real life by one of our students. The usual altitude loss during the turn is about 100-150 feet.

why would you test fly a suspect engine problem with a passenger?

It was already flown prior. This was for the video.
