    I hunted this past deer season with my 444 and harvested a nice 8 pt buck. Wasn't much of a challenge. It was only 30 yards out from my stand

    Szívesen néznék a fegyver tisztitásáról, szétszedéséről videót.
    Jó egészséget kívánok Apának és Fiának Üdv Attila Magyarországról!

      Also I would recommend to have a gunsmith disassemble your rifle and clean it. You may find some videos on how to do it but having someone that does it for a living can save you a lot of time. When a gunsmith cleans your gun it should be good for many years as long as you clean it after each shooting. Good luck and thank you again!

    I own a CVA Scout 2 and use 240 grain bonded bullet I load myself. I get a standard measured velocity of 2400 fps at muzzle. In 2018 I shot an elk at 266 yards and the elk did not take another step. I was above the animal and it was grazing down hill in line with me. I aimed right between the shoulder blades and that's right where I hit. The bullet passed all the way through and went into the ground below the elk. I was able to eat the meat right up to the wound channel unlike almost all my other hunting rifles.

    A problem I see with most of the videos about the .444 Marlin is that most people try to compare it with the 45-70. I believe that's a mistake and I don't believe the 444 should be used to try and fire as large of bullets the 45-70 uses. The load I use creates 3,070 pounds of energy at the muzzle, nearly double what you show for the 45-70 in this video.

    I just zeroed mine at 110 with a 300 grain xtp. Should be around 9.5” low at 200 yards. An easy adjustment in the field.

    I wouldn't ever buy a 444 but I like seeing what the cartridge is capable of doing.
    My hunting from the Pacific NW to Alaska the 444 or 45-70 has no place for the hunting I am doing is why I wouldn't by either the 444 or 45-70 because these cartridges are short range, and I hunt around massive canyons or hunting by boat shooting over large rivers and Hugh Alaskan swamps.
    I just watched a new this season Moose hunt in Alaska TH-cam video, the hunter had a Marlin guide gun in 45-70 then for 12 days he seen bull moose across a Hugh swamp that always was out of range for the 45.70, the man finally got a bull moose but his friend shot it with a bolt action rifle on the 12th day of hunting showing this 45-70 fanboy fad is just plan nuts and as useless as the 45-70 can get when you have pass up game out of range.
    As an Alaskan resident and 30 years guiding hunters for brown bear and Yukon moose the minimum rifle for Alaska is a 338 win mag and 9.3x62 Mauser or 375 H&H magnum is even better

      Thanks for leaving a comment! I would choose my 375 H&H Mag too for Moose at that long range also! Thank you for supporting my channel!

    Why won't they bring back the 450 marlin?

      Good question! Not sure why but I just sold an older Marlin 450 about a year ago. I will do some research on it! Thanks for watching the video!

      @@riversgunkingdom5360 okay thank you. You are the only one to respond to my question. I love the big bores. I want a 45-70 bad! I think the 450 out does it though. Even a hot 45-70.

    The 444 Marlin seems impressive, perhaps superior to the 45-70?

    • @riversgunkingdom5360

      Thanks for watching! The .444 is perfect for deer and also big game.....it shoots flat and a great straight walled cartridge for states that allow for it hunting!

    I bought these same bullets for my Dads gun but then seen on the box that Hornady recommends these for the 1:20 twist ballard cut rifling but his is the 1:38 micro groove so supposedly it shouldn't be able to stabilize these rounds. Is your gun the micro groove also? If so based off your grouping im going to disregard the warning on the box

    • @riversgunkingdom5360

      Thank you for your question! I never noticed that on the box? Did you buy the same ammo that we are shooting in the video? Also is your Dad's gun close to the same age and have a JM stamp on the barrel? Thanks again for watching!

    • @shamrock1738able

      Thanks for the quick response! Hornady leverevolution 265 gr. FTX. Noticed if you flip the box , right above the ballistics chart it states 1-20" Barrel Twist & Faster. Not sure if his has the jm stamp. Its a 444s so I know its dated somewhere between 1971-83.

    • @riversgunkingdom5360

      The Marlin I shoot in the video is a 1977 and so if your Dad's is close to the same year then it would have a JM stamp and then it will be fine to use the Hornady Leverrevolution 265 grain from your Dad's Marlin. Zero it in at 100 yards first. Let me know how it goes? I shoot the Marlin 444 at 100 yards in my other video on the Underrated Marlin 444. Thanks again for watching and keep my updated on your progress! @@shamrock1738able
