This system just saved my life - I was suddenly cut of by a very reckless driver driving allowed speed limit of 45MPH. I was literally 1 inch away from colliding with him when the system started braking for me. I reacted fast but not fast enough.

@@toyotausa your traction control system saved me going at about 115mph ina fj cruiser racing a Nissan Maxima . The truck was in 2 wheels and the traction control corrected everything I thought I was gonna flip over.

It was ina freeway the road was like a loop and I dint see that coming I acted like I had it but it was the traction control system doin the work and me just correcting the steering wheel.

@@Dd-mt5ol its called force feedback. The traction control system is for stopping the wheels loosing traction when throttle is applied. What assisted you in that situation was electronic stability control, which together with the abs system applies a set braking force to one or 2 of the wheels to help with stability incase of a drift. :)

I had a Corolla rental once and while merging onto the freeway, I was looking at my rear view mirrors and physically looked behind to see if it was safe to merge, exactly at that moment, people ahead of me slammed on their brakes, I didn't catch it in time and the system caught it right before my spouse told me to brake. This system saved me from pain, headaches, trips to the hospital, and lots of money!!

This system saved me from a frontal collision a few days ago, when a driver pulled out of a stop sign without looking in front of me. I was going 60kmh and it would've been a very bad collision. The braking system kicked in before I could slam the pedal down all the way, and the ABS allowed me to steer out of the way during the braking so I didn't end up rear-ending the car. Very useful piece of equipment!

It does not seems to work in my new Toyota 2020 RAV4 XLE model. I had a collision like scenario day before yesterday where the car in front of me driving around 30 MPH suddenly slowed to take left turn and I was just behind it and there was no alarm/signal on my dashboard even when I was about 1-2 meter away from the car. Fortunately I have turned right and collision was avoided. Went to two local dealers they said that as per computer checks, all sensors are working fine and we can't test this on live scenarios. I used to have this feature in Toyota RAV4 2016 XLE model (bought as special package at that time) but in new version, its standard feature but does not seems to work at all!!!

@@toyotausa :- I have already contacted them before posting this comment last week itself. They are still figuring out with local dealers. Hope to have some definite answers. But strange this is that Toyota Car manuals and this video clearly shows what is expected in such scenarios but as a user I cannot see it working.

I was more worried about her safety, but after we split up she decided she wanted to keep her old NC1 Miata we got her instead of our newer SUV that also has all of that tech. Oh well.
