Hi Charles, quick story this magazine was in my household in the early 80s. I specifically remember the picture and thinking it was Bruce Lee’s tombstone myself for many years. Then I came across documentaries in the 90s and realised it wasn’t then maybe five or 10 years ago I stumbled on some footage Of Bruce Lee’s home, shortly after his death, and the tombstone could clearly be seen on his desk!! I was beyond shocked as the image of the tomb stone had been in the back of my mind, since I was a young child. So happy to see this video made about it. Thank you regards Nathan 🇬🇧

The generosity of Steve is amazing. He truly gives so much of himself to everyone. Hector is indeed fortunate to own such a wonderful piece. As I said in the LiveChat, if anyone wants a replica of the tombstone I'd be willing to make one for them. I have the exact dimensions from Steve and can now see everything in more detail than before. The one I made for you were simply that there were more photos available of the 2nd one back then. I was so pleased to make one for Sigung Richard. And for it to be at his memorial was an honour. An important part of Dragon history and in such good company with the other things Hector has. Really can't wait for this one. As you know its a great favourite subject of mine. I'm pleased to say that one of the other replicas I made along with yours was for the Tai Tung restaurant in Seattle. It is still on display there next to Bruce's table. Yet more Dragon history. 🙏🐉

But I've since had the proper dimensions sent to me by Steve Walling taken from his miniature tombstone also made by George Lee. I don't think there are many of these around, so to have one is a great honour.🙏

Hi Draven. I have made replicas of the miniature tombstone for Charles and Sifu Eric. They can been seen on the first video of our Bruce Lee day in LA . I also made one for Sigung Richard Bustillo and the Tai Tung restaurant in Seattle. Historically George made two versions. The first is like Hectors, and the second was shown in the magazine. They look very similar but the main difference is the chain. I have the exact dimensions sent to me by Steve and with this video I can add a lot more detail. If you are interested please let me know.👍

Joanne, the miniature tombstone is a highly significant part of Dragon history. It came about after Bruce's fight against Wong Jack Man in late 1964. Although he won the fight, it revealed some serious flaws in Bruce's Jun Fan and his reliance on Wing Chun. He wanted a visual depiction of his rebirth as a martial artist and asked George to make the tombstone for him in January 1967. Sigung Richard Bustillo told me it was the first thing he saw when he entered the Chinatown school on the opening night. George Lee made two designs which are slightly different. The first one is like Hector's with the sink plug type chain. The second is slightly bigger with a figure 8 chain. Shannon Lee has both of them. The second one was on Bruce's desk in his Golden Harvest office when he died. Showing how much it meant to him. Hope this helps in your understanding of Bruce and his art.😁🙏🐉

As I said in the LiveChat, if anyone wants a replica of the tombstone I'd be willing to make one for them. I have the exact dimensions from Steve and can now see everything in more detail than before. The one I made for you were simply that there were more photos available of the 2nd one back then. I was so pleased to make one for Sigung Richard. And for it to be at his memorial was an honour. An important part of Dragon history and in such good company with the other things Hector has. But I've since had the proper dimensions sent to me by Steve Walling taken from his miniature tombstone also made by George Lee. Hi Draven. I have made replicas of the miniature tombstone for Charles and Sifu Eric. They can been seen on the first video of our Bruce Lee day in LA . I also made one for Sigung Richard Bustillo and the Tai Tung restaurant in Seattle. Historically George made two versions. The first is like Hectors, and the second was shown in the magazine. They look very similar but the main difference is the chain. I have the exact dimensions sent to me by Steve and with this video I can add a lot more detail. If you are interested please let me know.👍

Joanne, the miniature tombstone is a highly significant part of Dragon history. It came about after Bruce's fight against Wong Jack Man in late 1964. Although he won the fight, it revealed some serious flaws in Bruce's Jun Fan and his reliance on Wing Chun. He wanted a visual depiction of his rebirth as a martial artist and asked George to make the tombstone for him in January 1967. Sigung Richard Bustillo told me it was the first thing he saw when he entered the Chinatown school on the opening night. George Lee made two designs which are slightly different. The first one is like Hector's with the sink plug type chain. The second is slightly bigger with a figure 8 chain. Shannon Lee has both of them. The second one was on Bruce's desk in his Golden Harvest office when he died. Showing how much it meant to him. Hope this helps in your understanding of Bruce and his art.😁🙏🐉
