Yeah, the pony tail is iconic. I have mine in a pony tail most of the time. Duncan McLeod is a cool character and I think he looked coolest with that pony tail.

I was a teenager when the show was on, and McLeod's ponytail was so esthetically powerful it's the main reason why I let my own hair grow long. I'm 40 now, my hair is still long and I don't plan to cut it short any time soon! :)

I liked your ponytail☺️😇. The shorter one.. Before Duncan cut off his tail in season 6.
I loved his celtic hair brooch.
And, yes.. I agree with the fact, that long hair, it's one of the best style of Duncan.

I'm regrowing my hair now. In the 90s Highlander inspired me to grow it out. The for the better part of 20+ years I pretty much has a completely shaved head. 2 years ago I decided to grow it and now I have a ponytail again. :) Love it. I remember when Duncan had the half up ponytail. That was my favorite. I do that most of the time, but a full ponytail is easier.
I wish I could get those hair ties you designed though. I can't find them. :(

  • @kellymariebarron

Ponytails are great gets all of your hair off of your shoulders, but if you have a head injury like I have ponytails only hurt after so long my hair has grown longer than I would like it to be so I have been pulling it back into a ponytail today I probably won't do that because I have a headache. Your ponytail in Highlander was the best even when you didn't have it pulled back into one it was still awesome. But things are changing yet again so either everything is coming back into the style that used to be or they are alternating it in some way. Either way ponytail or not hair still looks beautiful.

I'm growing my hair out again too. I'm lucky enough to have a face that let's me look like a musketeer if I have my hair long. My trick is to do a close buzz on the sides the width of the clippers and do the same on most of the back of my hair. I still get the look without it mushrooming on the sides.

I always thought Duncan's long hair sort of tied him to the past. In the '90s it wasn't uncommon for young guys to have long hair, but you didn't often see grown men with it. But it worked for the character. And I always liked the scenes where you see Duncan putting his hair in a ponytail, or where his hair was loose; because you could tell it wasn't a wig or hair extensions. It felt like the actor was invested in his character. Also, I was a teenager with long hair at the time, and I wanted those hair ties SO bad!

It was the late 80's and early 90's when the show was on, and guys with long hair was kind of a thing. We're not talking mullets here, that was something else and best left alone, but think about it, you had musicians with long hair, actors had longer hair in many films, it was that sort of time for that, and to have the ponytail was kind of that image and swagger that made the look. I remember in school here in the states the guys in high school, a lot of them had long hair. Myself, my hair never lent itself to that and my parents being very conservative would never allow it, but all of my sisters boyfriends at the time for that couple of years in the early 90's all had long hair either in ponytails or just let out.

I want you to know I cried out loud during the episode Duncan cuts his hair. I understand why it was done, but it was the end of an era, and it was sad. Also during the 90s at my work about 1/3 of the men there had well kept ponytails, so I thought they were a very attractive feature.

Wait where can we order those hair ties I’ve been looking for them! You see my bruhder had them all when I was growing up watching Highlander from years 1994-1998!! He passed away 6 years ago and I’d love to have some for myself ad it was our show we’d watch together! It inspired him to become a black belt he was the same age as Richie(Stan K.). Duncan was the father figure full of values and standards we always wanted!!!

Wow I am learning more and more you don't get NEARLY enough credit for that show. I had no idea you designed the hair ties and did the research for some of the episodes. Glad you retained the copyright for the hair ties. Fish oil supplements and natural remedies from a youtuber called curlyproverbz helped my thinning hair a few years ago and. Because I prayed yes I'm serious. Because absolutely nothing was working because my hormones were out of whack due to menopause and my hair was the one place it affected me. Anyways a few days later I came across the channel and I used the hair mask once and 80 % of my hair loss stopped. I bought the ingredients online and mixed it up. I used it a total of three times and didn't need it anymore. The fish oil supplements helped regrow my exes hair. Because he was taking it for cholesterol then I noticed it was filling in bald spots that were well established. Now I sometimes take it for the thickness I had years ago. But mostly I use herbal infused oils and the avocado hair mask. Sorry for the long message lol. Stay blessed

You did quite a nice job in that role!

The ponytail was it's own character!
It definitely helped the story if you started the episode with it tied back, and by the end, the hair was down and you looked like you'd been put through the ringer. Lol.
Loved the show, but I wish season 6 had had less of the spinoff search episodes. Felt like a small betrayal of trust to have people tune in and have little or no Duncan MacLeod (looking at you Two of Hearts).

I just thought because Lambhert’s hair was long in the past and then short in the present, your character would do the same thing. But your character is different he was cool and unique I liked how your character he was more Social than Lambhert’s. You played the role very well.

I've always been a sucker for guys with long hair. As a woman, I've always worn a ponytail. And as long as you can keep it tied back, it doesn't bother me at all, but it's all got to be one length. Bits of hair that escape the hair band are very annoying.

In the 90's it was natural to have ponytail, that was the fashion. I myself had long hair and a ponytail was something normal when I doing sports, it was comfortable. I was inspired by MTV's Dan Cortez. Many of the action movie actors at the time had ponytils, and also because I trained Aikido Aikikai and Shotokan Karate it was natural to have long hair and a ponytail like Steven Seagal and Lorenzo Lamas :) For ten years I had long hair and finally the trends changed, so and I grew up more, which resulted in the decision to cut my hair by half and style it with the spirit of fashion. It was a difficult decision, but it was inevitable. Now I prefere short hair, there are more comfortable but my wife urges me to grow my hair long like I used to. For the last four years, every year I have grown my hair to the length like you have Adrian, but I cut it off every time. Every time when I did it my wife was inconsolable :)

What would you think of a Netflix no holds bar version that would have you come back as mortal in a mentoring sensai role, and who would you choose for that role? I think that would be amazing! I know I look best with my hair down, but it bothers me all the time, so I usually have it in at least a partial ponytail. The thing you have to be careful with is to not have too tight of a ponytail or it actually causes your hairline to thin out and recede.

The last time I had my hair cut was when I was 15. I have had it trimmed since, however. I am soon to be into my eighth decade on this earth. Needless to say, my hair is quite long (I sometimes accidentally sit on it), but it is thinner than it used to be. I’ve always said that I’d cut it off when it turned gray. It’s not there yet… still more brown than gray (thanks to genes from my mom’s lineage). Yes, with long hair, there is a definite need to tie it back out of the way at times. For me, that is when doing something active like exercise, or when doing something messy like painting or cooking, or just when it gets too hot - sweat and hair… yuck! Besides, it can get tangled, and untangling long hair is no fun.

Mine is still mostly brown and down almost to my knees! I am in my late sixties and have cut it many times in my life, just not in the last 10 to 15 years. I stil have extremely thick hair that always requires the bands or barrettes labeled for such, tho it was even a bit thicker when I was young. I always tie mine back unless I am dressing to go out somewhere and want it looser to compliment a look. Over the decades I've collected a ton of nice hair ornaments.

Here’s a random thought , why did they keep Anna on the show so long. She seemed soo annoying and in the way. Was it just to fill the space of Tessa. ? Hardly did that. Wouldn’t been better to add more past content of Highlander .

What do I think? Any hair problem you now have can be solved by a hairpiece and if you are accustomed to struggling with your thin hair (or baldness), a hairpiece will be no problem to work with. $400 and it will last 4 to six months of daily wearing before enough hair falls out that you need to replace it.

I always thought your hair was as straight as mine but that was only in season 1. I'm jealous of your curls. I grow my hair longer in the summer just so I can wear a ponytail and get the hair off of my neck. In the colder months my hair is about shoulder length.

If I'm not mistaken the long air in season 1 was extensions. Season 2 is Adrian's real hair

I had long hair, wearing a ponytail, the whole time at school. After that period it cut it all off. That was a big change. But necessary. If i see men today with a ponytail, i'm always thinking, they are all Highlander fans, because you looked so cool with it! LOL

The pony tail made Duncan McLeod. When you cut it off, you lost something.

Did you always have the ponytail throughout Highlander? In some of the flashbacks, where Duncan is meant to have short hair, I guess it's tucked down the back of your collar. But in some of the shots, you can see the back of your neck. I assume it was either cut short then, or it was tucked off at the side of your neck, away from the camera's view.

Wigs in some shots were used. They looked so good though.

So the ponytail was your real hair? Back in the 90s a friend told me it was a wig.

IDK if Adrian will ever see my comment but if so... I noticed in season two, the episode with the immortal who was a young black man who you saved from being hanged at the beginning of the episode then had an altercation with a dirty sheriff at a "white's only" diner where the two of you were set to eat, your hair was a regular cut-off at the neckline the of cut and it was difficult to tell if that was a hairpiece over your hair or if you cut it for filming. There were other scenes throughout the series where you had longer hair but flashback scenes where your hair was shorter. So, did you cut it for some scenes or was it a hairpiece over a skull cap? Just had to ask and sorry for the run-on sentence.

I think we need a new character set in the 1970s as a prequel!
