    What so you think about the colors of this vlog? Good enough?

      Looks a little bit softer/less cobtrasty than your usual style 😉

    • @pascalbasel
      @pascalbasel  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, the film simulations actually look softer than FLOG2 all with sharpness -4. That’s weird…

    Awesome video! I stopped using F-Log a long time ago. Love Classic Chrome with low shadows and ETERNA with high shadows n color for SOOC. Most of my videos and stills are SOOC.

    That pure joy on your face 😁 when you did that dive with Avata 🙂 - moments we live for 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻.
    Nice colours out of the Fuji, very impressed and I love the comment to yourself 🤣👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

    Would you recommend the hs2 or the canon r6 mark ii for vlog/documentary work I also take pictures

    • @pascalbasel
      @pascalbasel  ปีที่แล้ว

      Both are excellent cameras. X-H2S more for documentary and R6ii more for vlogging because of wide angle zoom lenses and autofocus. For photos they are both great, just depends if you want film simulations or not.

    i shoot classic chrome when on family trips. the dogs and wife. ect ect. For my film making, Ive been in Flog2. My biggest beef is the noise. i find at native iso1250, there is a ton of noise unless I run it through Topaz first. Any thoughts on noise reduction?

    awesome video! enjoyed using eterna for a bit but the classic Crome is so nice ! really nice look to the video and kept the colours nice and vibrant with the trees :)

    do you use the base ISO when shooting in film sim? or just the minimum? thanks.

    • @pascalbasel
      @pascalbasel  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In film sims you can use every iso you want as the dynamic range is limited. but if you use the dr400 etc functions, you can only use base.

    Another entertaining video. Watch most of your videos. Definitely noticed the color difference in this one. Color grading is the way to go. If you want better dynamic range and colors why not switch in to Blackmagic pocket. With new gyro stabilization it's great. You already switched in to Resolve anyway.

    • @pascalbasel
      @pascalbasel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Pocket looks nice, but no autofocus and the dynamic range is also better on the Fuji ;-)

    Great Video! I cant wait until january when we fly to Bangkok and Chiang Mai to record some amazing footage of the beatiful mountains. Any recommendations for Chiang Mai? I saw you did a lot of videos there :)

    • @pascalbasel

      I live in Chiang Mai. Mae Hong Song loop and the mountains around Chiang Rai are the best. Phu Chi Fah especially.

    The color is acceptable, with your editing is Ok :), One question for you: fuji 16-55 or sigma 18-55 with adapter? Thanks

    • @pascalbasel
      @pascalbasel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      F1.8 vs native mount (more solid feel)… For planned shoots Sigma, for on the go, Fuji or Tamron 17-70.

    Are you just ramping your Shutter speed for exposure or do you stick to shutter speed rule and use a VND?

    • @pascalbasel
      @pascalbasel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do both. Depends on if I have a filter and the situation.

    Eterna gives quite a bit more dynamic range.
    I shoot in eterna, DR200, color+2 and almost never run out of dynamic range when looking at the scopes in resolve.
    But at one point I have to try f-log (x-s10), still scared about too much work afterwards for a hobby;)

    • @pascalbasel
      @pascalbasel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Have to try DR200. Always going for the extremes 😄

    Interesting! In general it Looks better than any other camera in a „standard“ profile. S-cinetone maybe, but the classic chrome look is really nice! I also used classic chrome when I started, but now I prefer Eterna, because it gives a little bit more dynamic range and still has a nice look sooc. Classic chrome is really contrasty (even with shadow and highlight adjustments) and with my 8 bit X-S10 I am afraid that the footage falls apart to fast when grading. But for photos I use classic chrome :) about the DR400 I have to test myself, because I use it most of the time during day 😅
    I would love to have a F-Log to Classic Chrome Lut from Fuji! Classic chrome look with F-Log dynamic range would be awesome!

    • @pascalbasel
      @pascalbasel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can get classic chrome from F-Log with the LUTs from Colorizer :-)
