NP. It's a strange little train, but it does what it's supposed to do. If you were really worried you could get a taxi from the station to the airport - it's not very far.
I'm a little late to comment lol but can anyone tell me where abouts this is in the train station?? I don't recognise anything in the videos that would help me find it. What level is it on if someone could simplify directions for me be much appreciated thankyou x
No, you arrive in the check-in zone, upstairs next to Frankie & Benny's. Security is labelled through a big door at the rail link stop in the terminal.
Besides which, the Maglev isn't a train, it is a magnetic levitation system, completely automatic, between Birmingham International Rail Station and Birmingham International Airport.
Thank you so much for posting this. I have mild/severe travel anxiety and was worrying about this part of the journey.

It's a free monorail. You can take it again and again to get used to it then overcome your free
So, they just installed this on top of the old maglev tracks? At least the system wasn't abandoned.
I'm getting a National Express bus into the bus terminal at Comet Road, next to airport., can I get this to Birmingham Int'l rail station?
will it be a security risk if I just ride it without flying as part of a trainspott day???
No you'll be fine. You can enter it from the Railway Station.

It's at the end of the station concourse - which is an overbridge.

It’s got a new song and it is so creepy
Its actually two monorails.
They're not monorails. There are two rails per train. It's closest to a funicular.
This is not a monorail. A monorail runs on a single beam. This has 2 tracks.
Mono = One
Rail = Rail
who's bothered its free
yeah, its actually classed as a funicular :D
Cable Liner...
thanks
US trains are the best
You have obviously never travelled by train in Europe, Japan or even China.

The Maglev link is dead...the current shuttle is cable-driven
