- This is my “two cents” comparison between a Real and Fake Cold Steel Rajah 2. I enjoy a good sharp dependable knife and I don’t claim to be an expert. This video is just a guide to those who are thinking about buying a Rajah 2 and are worried about purchasing a Fake. I am a big fan of Cold Steel Knives and I own several. None of which has ever failed me. The fake Cold Steel was purchased on Ebay while the genuine Cold Steel was purchased on Knifecenter.com. I did not test the blade and metal strength of the fake Cold Steel cause I don’t have the right equipment to do it safely. In addition to Knifecenter.com, I also frequent BladeHQ.com for great deals on other knives. Thanks for watching and don’t forget to subscribe.

Thanks for opening these up. I ordered a fake one to see the difference. It was too cheap not to try it. But the quality is horrible. Tri Ad lock is not secure at all. Seems like some of the same parts though. Maybe they use Cold Steel scraps to put them together to sell on the side. They just rush through the quality.
I disagree, the fake Rajah is just as good as the original. Probably made on the same assembly line!
@@turtletruth You're not listening, the TriAd lock on the fake is not secure AT ALL!!! I stab it onto a wooden table and it snaps shut instantly! Very dangerous! I could loose a finger! On my real one it doesn't do that at all.
@@turtletruth did you even look at the fakes locking mechanism? it's slanted outwards, instead of inwards, meaning it's not secure, it also doesn't have the air pocket,

You should do a CS style weight lifting comparison between the 2 to what they fail at. If the clone is close to the OG than the clone is worth it by far !
Note the fake box had no tri-ad lock written on it and the black blade on the fake one failed to label the steel type ex: AUS 10

The fake doesn't look too bad, sure it opens roughly but at a fraction of the price that's fine. If only they did the espada xl too..

That one is easy to spot. Some of the fakes are quite good!!! There was a Four Max "Elite" on ebay and the only way to tell was the grind didn't come all the way up to the grip. It stopped and curved down to the edge about a quarter inch from the grip. The real ones, the grind comes right up to the grip almost to the point where it goes under the grip. Oh, and then they blur the pictures. There's a lot of fakes. I've gotten to the point I won't even buy some things from eBay. Cold Steel knives is one thing.

I'm really curious about how they hold up.
I have a aus10 model that's like 3-4 years old. I've never had to sharpen it. The most I've done is run it on ceramic rods and leather.
What really gets me about these fake ones is why. I mean when you know its a fake. The real ones are not that expensive.
I understand buying a clone like busse that cost $600 an the clone is $70 with a sheath. But saving $30-40 bucks doesn't seem worth it.
Great job showing the differences because there is evil people out there. Your video shows they aren't factory seconds either because nothing matches.
They're not fake, one model is from 10 years ago the other is current.. Blind leading the blind in here

@@kenmastersmasterif you actually watched the video you’d realize coldsteel only uses one type of pivot. Also coldsteel only made a few blackout rahja2 none had that smooth texture. An they were DLC not black paint. So again who is blind maybe your just a little slow😊

@@richardhenry1969 This is one of the old AUS8 versions. Its not a DLC coating its a black teflon coating. Dumb hillbilly. He got 2 real ones. One old stock and a new design. Neither is fake

so I will give it a try and use it as a cheap tool.

CS has the R2 for $185 currently and I bought 3 clones that are very strong and EDC one and have never had any problems with any of them and all 3 were were less than $30. So go ahead and throw your money away because the fact is the people making the clones are making a PROFIT. What do you think CS is doing? ROBBING YOU !!!

How you like it. I always wanted one but for some reason I really would have preferred the old model with the smooth handle. I have a few cold steels from that era I really liked
