    I’m always amazed with the engineering the Germans incorporated in building their cars. I see it every time I work on my ‘87 W124.

    Top job. You would never found a car full equipped like yours in Europe

      Thank you for some reason TH-cam held your comment for review and I just saw it today. I appreciate the kind words.

    Great job, that dash looks amazing! Are you able to still buy the metal backing plate that the dash wood attaches to? In my experience the metal tabs that you twist to secure them often break.

      The trick is always have parts cars available. Yes those little tabs will break if you remove them and install them several times but if you just do it once they will be fine. Once is all it should need.

    These videos are terrible! Because people like you make people like me want to go out and get a W123/124 for ourselves!! I have a 1987 W124 now because of you and a few other notable YT Merc experts. You make it look possible, not easy, but possible to repair and restore our own cars. I don't need another one. You have a lot to answer for!! :-)

      Hahaha you can definitely restore your own car it just takes all of the right tools, time, a deep wallet and patients :)
      Just take your time and don't rush anything. Sure you'll make mistakes along the way if it's your first time but you'll figure it out.

    My CD has leather as well, unfortunately the left side bottom has totally split and ripped on a crack. Looks like a common spot. I did repair it and re-dyed it, but it’s only ok. It has factory heated seats as well.

      Wow factory heated seats that's extremely rare on a w123!!!

    What causes the pods to sick real hard , very hard to move , is it possible to take apart and clean to work better ?

    • @woodsandbarclay
      @woodsandbarclay  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sometimes you can use a little silicone spray around the pod and then move it around and it will make it move a little bit better. With age a lot of dirt and grime gets in those pods and sometimes they get hard to turn

      It's not so bad once you've done it a few times and know the procedure. the difficult part is getting it back in the car sometimes that can be a little tricky and take some patience.
