Hey fun fact about what you said in the beginning of the video, about "Copy Paste" and "Putting a new coat of paint" on old factions and ideas from other Warhammer universes. Tomb Kings are just Necron but in Warhammer Fantasy, so they're mummies instead of near-indestructible living metal robots, I hope you know this.

Hey Pixie, for future reference I believe its pronounced (Neh-Hek-Ara), but don't quote me on that, as im not completely sure myself.
And for the Tomb Kings/Vampire Counts relations, the Tomb Kings absolutely despise Vampires. Neferata, Queen of Lahmia, was the first Vampire, and she terrorized Lahmia and Nehekhara as a whole for over 300 years I believe.
The first Pixelated Apollo video I have watched and my introduction to the Warhammer universe :O
Tomb-kings were ones a great civilisation of Nehekhara greater than the empire in it’s prime. They also began to study the art of immortality but they got betrayed by Nagash who is probably the main bad Guy in warhammer but that’s another story, he wanted as like the vampire counts with necromancy since he is the one who created them. Thats why i also hope arkhan the black who is a badass btw, can recruit vampire counts units since he is a follower of Nagash and is hated by the tomb kings becouse they hate Nagash since he created necromancy. But the people of nehekhara got betrayed by Nagash and got the curse of undeath as they will still able to control their bodies but as we see here they are cursed being dead. The ones who only live in the desert now is the undead and livingstone monsters and now the people or the dead of tomb-kings seeks the way of life and a way to have their paradise again with vengeance and hate in their souls as they had when they were humans which is why they can use chariots and have Archers with good aim and controll since they still have thier mind and spirit left, able to think. As their saying goes too ”we do not serve we rule” probably got Some things wrong because i’m still reading about the tomb kings, there is so much story and information:)

Basically, the difference between the Tomb Kings undead and the vampire undead is the vampire forces are animated solely by the will of the necromancer or vampire commanding them. The Tomb Kings, on the other hand, pull the spirits of their warriors from the afterlife to inhabit their old bodies, meaning they get the superstrength and durability of the undead with all the dexterity and coordination of living soldiers.

The Tomb Kings are the OG when it comes to Warhammer undead.
It all kicked off with Nagash, a prince of the Nehekharan capital city of Khemri and priest of the Mortuary Cult. His city captured dark elf raiders, and from them he learned dark magic. Eventually, he combined the power of dark magic with the teachings of the Mortuary Cult and invented necromancy. He murdered his brother and assumed the throne, then bankrupted the empire to build the Black Pyramid, a monument to his "greatness" and a focus for his power. He also created the Elixir of Life, which let him live forever as a young man, instead of simply extending his life and being reduced to a shambling skeleton. He gave a corrupted form of the Elixir to his lieutenants, but the corruption forced them to require blood to survive. This is the birth of the first vampires. Eventually, the other cities of Nehekhara allied and waged a cohesive war against him, and a legendary hero managed to cut him down before he could spread the pall of undeath across the entire world.
The major difference between the Tomb Kings and the Vampire Counts is that the TK soldiers are spirits that were called from the afterlife and bound into physical bodies. This gives them the strength and durability of the undead, while still possessing all the coordination of a living soldier. This is why TK undead are able to use bows while the VC can't. The Vampire Counts, on the other hand, raise corpses to do their fighting, animated solely by the will and magic of their commander. They are simply just shambling corpses, incapable of anything more than mindless servitude.

Oh nice! Probably the upcoming DLC I'm most excited for. How does the whole weak infantry, strong monsters schtick work out for them? edit: Also what kind of map variety are we looking at here? Usually CA has maybe 3 or 4 maps for every region in the world, Have they changed that for TK?
to be honest I haven't played them enough to really know. But they seem strong to be :P
I believe the map is called “The Black Pyramid” but I’m not sure.
The starting skeletons are utter trash, but the tomb guard that serve as the elite infantry are rock solid. The interesting thing about them is that all their units are free to recruit, but you can only recruit a certain number per building. This necessitates building the infantry recruitment building in as many places as you can, so you never run out of space for infantry.
The biggest strength of the Tomb Kings is in campaign. They don't get much income, but all their units are free to recruit and upkeep amounts to zero. This means that even if a third of your units get wiped out in a massive battle, you can just spend a turn rerecruiting no matter if you don't have any money to spend on troops. The down side is that, since their undead, they don't rout, but rather crumble to dust. This means that if your army is defeated in battle, the entire army gets wiped; there's no retreat and set up a last stand at the nearest settlement. The other thing is that you can only have room for a certain number of armies at a time, and you can use research and the Mortuary Cult panel to raise that limit. This means that, since armies cost nothing, you should basically just have a crapload of armies rampaging everywhere, so that they can back each other up and keep from getting totally wiped out. This is helped by the fact that a lot of maps I've played TK battles on have rock formations or pits where I can set up a chokepoint/covered flank defense, let them throw themselves at my lines, and whittle them down with arrow fire and spells.

The scorpion reminds me of the decepticon scorpion from transformers. Also love this battle Egyptian fantasy is the best. This battle reminds me of the giant mummy war in the mummy movie with the Chinese emperor.
I feel like the first batch f factions got the short end of the stick. The late ones got a lot of army variety.

PA, good video as ever. I would like your opinion on something. What will be the cost of the whole Warhammer trilogy and all the DLC's combined? Will it create a precedent for future titles? And if people keep buying it all, how is CA gonna learn? Total War only for the rich kids? I know I don't have that kind of money to spend on a game.

Both soldiers of vampire counts and tomb kings are forced to battle by the person they are bound to, the vampire counts' skeletons are mindless and under control of magic. The tomb kings are bound by magical oaths to their leaders and retain some form of critical thinking and decision making on their own and may even remember a bit about who they once were. I believe that's what Jackie meant
