For anyone wanting to build this deck or any other mono colored deck, especially when it's an artifact deck like this one is, the reason to play Snow covered vs the regular basics is extraplanar lens. The difference will be very minimal long term, but you want to maximize your own mana while hopefully not buffing your opponents.
Awesome vid, this was really cool to see. Would love to see more behind the scenes on Worst Possible - how others build their decks, what goes into making it each week, etc
I completely agree with your EDHRec take. I feel it's become a resource that measures itself and not the potential of commanders. It influences builders to focus on identical lines instead of exploring alternate lines that could make for interesting, unique, and potentially more powerful interactions.
Great video! I was looking up videos to help with a build for this guy and this was by far the most helpful video I found. You definitely think outside the box. Using edhrec didn't work well for me. It worked out a lot better using my own ideas and knowledge along with videos like this. Much appreciated!
This is the first time I've seen a video like this from CGB and gotta say, I love it! Some feedback: I love the lofi, but it was was a little loud compared to your voice.
I thought it was weird too but after looking into it he was apparently ambidextrous, but was born left handed. Basically, he was naturally left handed and usually wrote with his left hand, but he was perfectly able to use his right hand as well and there exists writings from him doing so.
Build a DaVinci deck myself too: I started with the idea of basically cheating Darksteel Monolith into play really early with DaVinci by discarting it into a 0/2 Thopter then using the Thopter Monolith to cheat something else into play. And yes I went all out: that something else is either Blightsteel Colossus or most of the really big Eldrazi with the nastiest being the new Ulamog the defiler. Now that on it's own it's a neat trick but even with beating heavily on tutors I didn't want to rely on either surprising you with a turn 4 Ulamog or not doing much at all and fizzling out. So I just loaded up with a lot of other infinite mana/infinite draw combos and tutor pieces for said combos so if there's a clear line I don't just go for Darksteel I might go for 'I draw my entire deck, give everything haste and attack with like 6 different Eldrazis and a Blightsteel Colossus' It's nice and you can run most of the same deck with Urza or Dagsson as commanders (Both are on the 99 anyways) but I still kinda like the concept of a seemingly harmless happy Davinci busy with his paintings and thopters suddenly bringing in reality-destroying monsters by the time most people on average haven't even brought in their commanders yet, just endless fun (in a twisted way)
A really cool ramp card for three 3cmc commanders is jeweled amulet, which lets you get three mana by turn 2. It’s probably better than Felware stone in a mono colored deck. Really cool video btw!
In terms of the name for these videos I think that there would be a good play on words with a dark blue colour name. You could also use that colour consistently in the thumbnails to represent the different content type at a glance :)
At first I was curious why you didn't use artifact lands for extra ramp from DaVinci, but then I saw there are onlyblike three four that are playable and only one really worth to include (Power Depot).
Total Clickbait. Just read the "Leonardo Di" part and was hoping for a Leonardo DiCaprio deck. Well at least i am sure WotC will make a Secret Lair about him one day.

Please keep these up! Love Learning from the best of one!
This was a nice relaxing watch, also loved seeing how you went about with picking cards
I've been loving these relaxed videos! A good way to wind down at the end of the day. (-:
This was good. Nice to see the thought process behind the deck.
I love this style of video!
I love this. As someone recently getting back into Arena and starting to dabble in paper EDH, this is exactly the kind of thing I've been looking for

I love this format!!! Please make more of this.
Just showing my support for the nightly CovertGoChill....or...Dark...video! I LOOOVE the music in the background.
Very cool to see the whole process in building - quite helpful actually

Love this video, hope you will build more decks like this.
Cool and instructive :) Loved this: "The Indiana Jones movie we'd all like to forget"
I'm curious about why Leonardo is shown as right handed in all his card art. I thought he was quite famously left-handed??
He was ambidextrous but yes, mainly used his left
I thought it was weird too but after looking into it he was apparently ambidextrous, but was born left handed. Basically, he was naturally left handed and usually wrote with his left hand, but he was perfectly able to use his right hand as well and there exists writings from him doing so.
Y'all mfs acting like you personally knew da Vinci. That's some twitch viewer type shit.
@@unnume2772how do you think we know what happened in the past, everyone just guesses? 😂
Wormcoil
Pls do more commander deck build videos i really enjoyed the video and learned a lot how to build a commander deck

I really really enjoyed this CGB. Thank you!!!!
All is Dust is such a cool include for this. I never thought of that.

Which lets you *have* three mana by turn two. It’s functionally similar to a colorless Strike It Rich
Love the CGB after dark hope we get to see the deck soon
This is the best video you have made. Shame it's not getting more views.
Access Denied is a counter spell which creates thopters perfect for this deck
In terms of the name for these videos I think that there would be a good play on words with a dark blue colour name. You could also use that colour consistently in the thumbnails to represent the different content type at a glance :)
deck building and chill after dark is a vibe. also, I have the Gilded Lotus promo foil if you'd like it or wouldn't mind signing it. hahah
I triple dog dare you to craft a viable edh deck for less than $100
Covert go scholar, love the content keep that shizzle up!
Of course a super genius like Leonardo couldn't have been nothing else than a Blue mage
Because your make tokens copies, Perplexing Test is basically another Raise The Palisade here.
Extremely fun and useful content! Calling it CovertGoMidnight, or maybe just leaning even more into the MesaFalcon rebrand
At first I was curious why you didn't use artifact lands for extra ramp from DaVinci, but then I saw there are onlyblike three four that are playable and only one really worth to include (Power Depot).
CGB tell us how long it took you to find all your cards in your collection! id like to know what your organization is like !
Any mana ramp for Assassin's Creed should look like a Piece of Eden.
Hey just wondering why you chose to run temple of the false god
Gonna see this on the commander show hopefully??
Does the token that Faerie Artisans make trigger Simulacrum Synthesizer?
Yes, because it has the same mana value.
Covert After Dark :-)
Thoughts on Nexus of Becoming?
Covert goes dark?
2:50 How appropriate. 33 islands for a Leonardo Da Vinci deck? Although he was supposedly a member of the Priori of Scion, not the Masonic Lodge. 😁
Covert go CGB after go dark: Requiem
Comfy go blue
I like this style of video, way too quiet though.
Dope
Sweet I’ll print mine and save 2100! 😂
!
da vinki ?
Wormcoil
come on cgb come to cedh
I think he said once that he enjoys watching the format, but not playing it.
@@therealax6 he'd be so fun to watch though
Da vinky?
Da Vinky?
Da Vinky???
But why tho
extreme L take on not including wurmcoil engine and triplicate titan.

Typo in the title of the video.
Is putting $xxxx in video titles the new best way to generate views? 🙄
