I think it’s a knock out! I seen the polished black bone that’s coming out and it about blew my mind, it’s so nice! It’s one that’s very high on my want list.👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
My wife got this exact knife for me for Christmas. LOVE IT! Fit and finish was perfect. Don't mind the softer pull because it is a lock back and won't close easy while in use. Thanks for showing!
Great looking knife, the series overall looks great. I would have liked to see the VG-10 used for the blades, like on the Apta series. Thanks for sharing JB, be safe.
They seem to be built real robust. Which isnt a bad thing. I think I like the black smooth bone with the red underliners better. Thanks for sharing JB!
That's a good looking knife I like the scales and the fit and finish is pretty good and a locking blade makes this a keeper for me thanks for sharing JB
First time ever ever ever ever “echo” that I’m different than you! I prefer a clip point Bowie style blades, over drop points in a heartbeat!!! And yes, I added it to my wish list, TKS!!!
I’m a big fan of the Copperlock and Case seems to be the only ones that make them regularly. I was excited to see this one. The handle is twice as thick as the Case version which I like but the blade is slightly “off” or disproportioned compared to the Case version. I still love this one, I hope they start including this pattern in future series.
Unusual seeing a lock on a Copperhead. I'd like RR to bring their qualities and materials up to GEC levels without having to chase drops like GEC. This shows they're quite capable of good design.
It’s a copperlock not a copperhead, two different patterns. Case has made the copperlock for years. Also the Rough Rider Reserve line is up to par with GEC but you get into the debate of USA handmade vs Chinese produced.
@@Moose71275 My bad. I had a Copperlock that disappeared along with several other Cases so I should have known. I have gotten into Rosecraft of late and find them excellent.
It's a nice knife and the blue liners look great. I went with the smooth bone trapper / red liners. Looking at having it replaced because one of the handle pins broke after a few uses but overall I really like the entire presentation of knife & black reserve packaging.
Rough Rider is hard to beat for the money great knives love my reserve Barlow and my big bowie but that lock back is a killer looking knife with the black wood clip point Thanks for the great review my friend. ✌🏻 no black reserve yet but this one is calling to me 😁
I'll keep an eye out for Rough Ryders. They're a company I'd like to get my hands on first before committing cash over. Lots of knives to think about this year!
@@BigRedEDC Perhaps I can use RR to convert some of my 5-person knife club friends over to at least slipjoint-neutral, then from there to slipjoint-lovers!
I got one the day they appeared. It's bigger than a mini copperlock, but smaller than the full sized. Oddly enough, it's smaller in blade length, but the handle's an eighth inch longer. Copperlocks (full) got scarce so this really scratched my itch. I'll get the bone when it drops, too. I sure hope the pattern goes into rotation. I'd buy em all. I've got the razor trapper in bone on order. I'm hearing good things on this, and I like this variant on the trapper. All in all, other than the confusing name choice, I think this is a good line
I’m thinking of getting one, that blade shape and kick just look strange to me. Also, I don’t get the need for a half stop on a lockback but that’s RR for you 🤷🏻♂️
For me the jury is still out on the black reserve series. Not crazy about paying into the thirty dollar range for 440A stainless and Pakkawood. The knife reminds me of the Case XX Copperlock design. Also the drop for the clip point blade maybe should have started a little sooner. The blade looks a little forward heavy if you know what I mean. Will probably wait and see with this series.
I really like the copperhead black reserve great knife! Great video JB!
Thanks Phillip
This one definitely looks premium. Quite gentlemanly. Love that weave pattern for sure.
I like the pattern as well Shamus!

Awesome Ken! Thanks for watching
I agree, I too like a Single Bladed Slip Joint. Good looking Line from RR!
Thanks for watching Daniel
Liking that Copperhead style lately.
Single blade, lockback, all good.
That shape is so comfortable.
Fun video, JB
Yes it is Charlie! Thanks for watching
Great looking Copperhead! Great pattern! Have a wonderful day!!
Thank you! You too Mike
Great looking knife, the series overall looks great. I would have liked to see the VG-10 used for the blades, like on the Apta series. Thanks for sharing JB, be safe.
VG10 is always a good choice in my opinion!
I think it looks great. I like the blue liners. I agree the Copperhead would be the one I picked too.
Thanks for watching Dean!
Thanks for reviewing the Black Reserve line. I have neen curious about them as well. The basket weave is very cool. Thanks JB
Yeah...I'm digging the basket weave pattern
The black reserve line looks really nice. Thanks for checking them out JB.
Thanks as always Cheato
That thing is pretty nice, I dig the basketweave. Thanks for showing!
I like that pattern as well!!
Nice blade and weaved pattern on the scales. I like a lockback too. Nice one. Thanks for the look.
Thanks so much for taking a look!

Might have to take a look at that one as well!!

What a presentation! The blue liners look great 🤙
I think they do as well Drew
This is a great looking line. The choice between smooth and basket weave is a nice option. I'll have to pick up something from the line.
I like how the basket weave looks! Will probably check out some of the others as well!
I do love slip joints, thanks for sharing!
Glad you like them Jimmie
Its not a slipjoint but a lockback knife.
I stand corrected @@happykt
Ty red For showing us another nice knife
Thanks Mark!
It's a nice looking series. I may got after the peanut. Great video JB!!
Thanks as always Randy!
Good looking knife JB ,i like that its a lockback thanks for sharing YAH bless brother !
Agreed Michael! Have a great week
I love these I use them as gift knives
Right on Don!!
I’m going to have to get one JB. I’ve been checking the whole line on the website. I really like my Case copper lock. Thanks JB.
Very good! Hope you like it!

I'm guessing they didnt want to make a straight copy of the Copperlock
Very good looking knife. I am going to have to go take a look at one of these. Thanks for sharing this one JB.
Thanks so much Tim!

@@Moose71275 My bad. I had a Copperlock that disappeared along with several other Cases so I should have known. I have gotten into Rosecraft of late and find them excellent.
@@Moose71275 I'm pretty sure Case has a trademark on the term Copperlock and that's why this one is called a Copperhead.

Pretty nice,JB! Wonder how the pakka wood engraving would hold up to being dropped.
Not sure Dave! Don't really want to drop it....lol
Really nice looking one
I think so too Kevin!
Looks like a solid knife, thanks
Thanks for watching Angelo
Well built blades!
Not bad
Beautiful 🤩
Thank you! Cheers Anita!
im not a fan of slip joints and rhese style of knives but this one i would buy for sure looks good i like it i like it

Looks good on camera can you tell that the covers are wood? Thanks JB
Not overly Doug. But then again, pakkawood is more of a composite.

That’s a good looking pocket knife , wish it was bone scales instead of pakawood
Thanks for checking it out!👍👍
I wish they’d have upgraded the steel instead of the fancy packaging, but the overall execution is really nice.
Thanks for checking it out John
That's a handsome knife
I think so too Timbo!!!
Love the look of that basket weave pakawood. Is it real wood? Looks like g10 or plastic. Love the look
It is real wood but more of a composition of a wood veneer over a "lower grade wood" core.
I’m thinking of getting one, that blade shape and kick just look strange to me. Also, I don’t get the need for a half stop on a lockback but that’s RR for you 🤷🏻♂️
Just part of the design I guess!

Grippy, blue and gold. Sure .

Fancy pants packaging. I wish they went with VG10, T10, 1095, or D2. Kind of a all hat ho cattle situation.
