Honey, I thought you were about to cry amidst stuttering from absolute shock! Your in good company! We have all reacted to this that same way. Rob trained for years for opera and Austin trained in musical theater. They are amazing! Thank you for listening and being as floored as everybody who hears this! Have a lovely day! ❤
Thank you for educating MrLBoyd! LOL
Surprise! Rob was trained in opera and Austin in Musical theater. These boys never cease to amaze me! ❤
Surprise! They did very well with this. Apparently Austin bugged Rob until he agreed to do this. Well done, young men.
These boys talent is unending!! I’m beginning to think they are aliens!!! ❤
Star Children...
Im so proud of Rob and Austin for doing this!! The talent that is HF is unmatched
The guy on the left is trained in opera. 4 of the 5 in their regular group have degrees in music. Amazing, amazing. Thank you, MrLBoyd!!!
I think it's actually 3 out of 5 - Adam, Rob and Austin. Tim studied math and Chance literature.
These are the two fabulous tenors from Home Free, they have been harmonizing together for ten years. Their talent is immense !!
In an interview with the channel Patrol Gaming, Austin said that he'd really wanted to show off "opera" Rob; however, Rob said he wouldn't unless Austin sang it with him. He went on to say he thought he'd been okay but that Rob had been fantastic. They're both classically trained - Rob had extensive opera training (Austin had some but his degree is in Musical Theater). I love how they support each other.
Austin said he heard Robs recording and went back and recorded his again because Robs was just so good.
This was actually Austin's idea and he had to convince Rob to do it. Rob was classically trained in college. But he hadn't sung Opera in over 15 years. Austin was trained in musical theater but also had classical training. Really enjoyed watching your reaction to this song.
I follow the singing group they're in, Home Free. Normally, they sing completely acapella. Scary talented. I am not surprised that they can handle opera as well.
They did this as a gift to Rob's Dad. A one time performance, so they said. I think it was Fabulous & shows the doubters that these "hillbillies" can sing ANYTHING! I absolutely LOVE these boys & their talent. I've been following them since the Sing Off.❤
To whoever requested this. Thank you!
So pleased that you are as impressed as we were to hear this. I've seen a video that shows five or six people sing this... their opinion was that Pavarotti is still #1, but I can't believe that Rob isn't right on his shoulder... Austin also does a terrific job for not having trained in Opera as Rob did...he has the most amazing breath capacity (correct word?) and control! Jonathan Antoine who competed on America's Got Talent was in that video --he is quite marvellous also. You may want to check out his performances on AGT...I think he was still in his teens at the time. He's made quite a name for himself since then (approx ten years).
Thanks for doing this one! I never tire of realizing the depth and breadth of their talents. Home Free as a whole is great because its parts are great. Enjoyed your reaction!
Rob is actually from Minnesota but Austin is about as Country as they come.❤🎉
They took your breath and words away, didn’t they. 😊😊😊
Well you did say Home Free guys never disappoint!
The aria Nessun dorma is my favorite sung by the great Luciano Pavarotti.
Austin Brown and Rob Lundquist took my breath away singing Nessun dorma so magnificently!
I’m so profoundly moved. I’m in tears.
Bravo! Bravo!
I love Austin but it's Robs voice that blows me away, such a rich tone. Every member of Home Free is scary talented, which is why I can never get enough of them. Try something from their recent album So Long Dixie - the title track is a good place to start.
Love, love, love So Long Dixie!! Adam's nomonica and Chris's guitar are the perfect accompaniments ❤
Don’t know much about opera, but my ears tell me that this was amazing. I appreciate that you understood a lot more of the technical side about it.
Austin knew about Rob having trained to sing opera, and talked Rob into doing this. And Austin said that after hearing Rob do his part, Austin went back, and re-recorded his part, to make it better, to match up to Rob.
Don’t worry about the ‘Opera’ title and the fact there is a story line to the music. Just try out an opera ‘Aria’ or two and just enjoy how the music makes you feel. I would recommend (Rossini - ‘Largo al factotum’) or (Puccini - ‘Un bel dì’).
Now you have seen some of their true talent. If you want to truly see who the REAL Austin Brown is then hope you truly want to enjoy beautiful mind blowing music, then please take a few moments of your time and react to Austin Brown doing a solo of Bring Him Home. Truly promise you will appreciate true talent and and one of the most wonderful songs. I truly feel you enjoy wonderful talent and amazing classical music. It will be worth your time.
the look on your facewhen Rob was singing is one of pure joy. and your reaction to the final line, you were almost speechless
Chills EVERY time I hear this from these 2! 👏👏👏👏❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
I'm glad you were able to watch and react to this... this was so unreal
Home Free guys can do anything I think Listen to Austin Brown singing Bring Him Home... he reaches some very high notes
Thank you! I don't think I've seen you react to Austin Brown singing "Bring Him Home" from Les Misérables. It's outstanding!
Bring Him Home by Austin Brown. To me, it's his best work!
It really is a great one. I like to watch voice teachers react to it, because so often they are (pleasantly) stunned.
"Wow" is about right. Made me cry the first time I watched it. So much talent. So glad they decided to share it with us.
I'm in my early 40s with a difficult mental health history, including brushes with de*th and time on the psych ward. I have good support now, both professional and personal, but I still rarely feel much hope. I stumbled upon these guys and reactions to them last night, listened for hours, and got right back to them this morning. I teared up early in this video and soon started bawling, and I had this clear and specific thought: "Getting to hear music like this is a good reason to stay alive." THANK YOU to the artists and to the people praising and spreading their art.
Mr. Boyd, I deeply respect you, your knowledge of music and pleasant presentation. Thank you from Northern Japan.
This made my heart very glad the first time I heard this. Your reaction and your facial expressions just made my day. I'm going to cry.
These boys did more than try. These boys are so talented.💗💗💗
These two sing all kinds of music.
I can't believe you hadn't seen this yet! Shocked the hell outta me in the best way. Amazing reaction! ❤
All of Home Free guys are amazing and I love that they're free to make one offs like this
ROB & AUSTIN, ALL WAYS SOUND GOOD!!! BUT THIS IS PERFECT!!! BEAUTIFUL SOUND & LOOK!!! I WOULD LOVE AN ALBUM OF THIS!!!
I love this aria. It never fails to being tears to my eyes, it’s so beautiful. Rob and Austin do it so well. ❤️
For them to take a normally solo aria, make it a duet, and make it work is impressive.
Big boy was doing the damn thing on this!
I love this aria and I have heard it performed by professionally trained Opera singers and to get two tenors to sing this one person aria together and sing with the same breath control, emphasis and vowel pronunciation on the same words to name a few details is like herding cats. Most practice this as a solo with their own emotional twists to make it uniquely their own version. That is, to use a billiards term, they put their own special 'English' on the ball. Put Home Free on it and they are speaking the same 'language'. What they lack in precise technique they more than make up in melding their voices into what is an a cappella strength, a beautiful blend of yummy goodness. BRAVO!
I enjoyed watching your face when you realized what a great job Rob & Austin were doing!
They’re so good. Rob (glasses) used to study opera in college. Austin (redhead) studied musical theater. They were so respectable. I think with more study Rob could be a legit opera singer. Such power. Love it!!! Good reaction Mr. L!😍😄
Rob had the chance but decided not to. He was already fully trained so it's not a matter of more training. You can't really start a career at age 40 because they usually expect you to start in the chorus and move up over a period of years.
Well, country singers, metal singers, like the incredible Dan Vasc, who also did a flawless and fabulous job on Nessum Dorma, show they are much more talented than we could ever suppose.
Such a treat! But seriously, Rob sounds like a different artist than we hear when he sings with Home Free!
I don't care for opera, but these two "tried" and did what I didn't expect--they made me want to watch it over and over again. Who knew? 🤭
#HomeFree
You really should check out Tim foust for this group singing (Will you still love me/stay) all parts by himself. It really showcases his huge vocal range. It's really awesome hearing what these guys can do separately as well as a group.
I would not consider them Country Western singers. I have heard them sing a variety of music. Wonderful❣️
Great reaction to our Home Free guys “trying” opera! I’m pretty much convinced they can sing anything.
Suggest you check out their upgrade of Stand By Me that came out last week. It’s incredible!
That was absolutely beautiful. Bravo 👏👏👏
I LOVE seeing your face when you are enjoying music!
Thank you for giving me another reason to listen to this performance! Love it!
Thanks, when you listen to many people sing Nessun Dorma you can see how difficult it is and you can appreciate greatness they did great.
This was my stepfather's favorite piece, I played, the three tenors virsion, for him at the end when he died of cancer.
Simply beautiful 🥹 thank you for sharing your reaction 💝💞
So glad I saw you do this reaction...excellent!
Rob is a classically trained in Opera. Austin is trained in Musical Theatre which incorporated Opera.
I love this opera thatcthis song is from. It is really a fairytale. Very romantic. TURANDOT.❤😊
I’m so proud of them!
Nice to see the tenors from home free in a whole different light!! Rob with a beer does have some classical training an opera! So I hope you’re only shocked not appalled by this performance!! Nice reaction
Rob's voice is absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful tone and resonance.❤
I don't think I've ever seen you that stunned. I felt the same way.
I love Robs voice..but Austin, hauntingly beautiful!
I loved your visceral reaction to this! These guys could sing the phone book and make it sound good! (Oh dear... I just dated myself. Who knows what a phone book is anymore?) :)
David Phelps does a Masterful job at this as well❤🎉
By now it seems like the guys can sing practically anything. For completely real. Just a tip, there is a fan-filmed video of Jennifer Hudson singing this aria live.
Rob is the guy that raps during Home Free's Butt's Medley... And Austin is their high tenor and woman-slayer.
That was excellent! Bravo👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Another artist who sang Nessun Dorma and may surprise you is Aretha Franklin. She performed it at the Grammy Awards in 1998. She stepped in for her good friend, Luciano Pavaroti, who was scheduled to perform it but became sick. She brought the house down! You should check it out.
Absolutely fantastic ❤ great reaction ❤
Thank for the great reaction.
This is insane. This is wow, wow and again wow. It's extremely good. Fantastic. Both are doing great. But I still recognize Austin's powerful voice. (Musical training) But Rob ( opera training 15 years ago), I'm perplexed. His voice is just magical, so rich, so warm. Chills just ran through my body. It flows into my heart. Rob sounds like a (good) opera singer, and not like Rob from Home Free where he is also so amazing.. For me he will be able to stand with the greatest of opera singers.
It's not often that I listen to songs by opera singers. But here it is. This is perfection for me.. Even if you don't like opera, this must touch you, you must like this.😉
Of course I hope that both will always continue to do Home Free, but I wouldn't think it wrong that such "trips" are made more often. Opera, country, ballads, soul etc. I think anything is possible..This is insane. This is wow, wow and again wow. It's extremely good. Fantastic. Both are doing great. But Rob, I'm perplexed. His voice is just magical, so rich, so warm. Chills just ran through my body. It flows into my heart. What you say: Rob sounds like a (good) opera singer, and not like Rob from Home Free where he is also so great. For me he will be able to stand with the greatest of opera singers.
It's not often that I listen to songs by opera singers 5 times and more in a row. But here it is. This is perfection. Even if you don't like opera, this must touch you, you must like this.😉
Of course I hope that both will always continue to do Home Free, but I wouldn't think it wrong that such "trips" are made more often. Opera, country, ballads, soul etc. I think anything is possible..
Wow absolutely amazing and phenomenal ❤️🔥 at dawn I will win, we will win, we all will win, it will be our time 🌟
Beautiful rendition! I just suddenly had the thought of Rob breaking out into some Sir Mix-a-lot and had a good chuckle at how versatile they can really be.
Let's be honest, in terms of the GOAT in performing this aria it is Luciano Pavarotti, but these two were awesome. You should also check out Aretha Franklin's cover done live at the Grammys😊
Absolutely Beautiful. Thank you
Classically trained with a gentle twang accent…
I am classically trained this nicely done.
This was a priceless reaction!! 😂
A good singer can cross all genres, right? But, the most memorable rendition of this song was when Pavarotti was taken ill and Aretha Franklin stepped in last minute to sing it on a TV broadcast. She sang it only the way Aretha can and I was enthralled. Absolutely wonderful!
Fantásticas Voces! BRAVO! 3:49
Home Free/Austin's version of Unchaned Melody if off the charts high. You'ld love it!
Bravo, bravissimo!
I have never been a big fan of opera except maybe some Andrea Bocelli & a few others. But I have always appreciated the talent it takes to sing opera. I was pretty impressed with Rob & Austin's version of Nessun Dorma. I have heard this famous song done by Pavarotti. I think I was more surprised by Rob's range & powerful delivery than even Austin's. Pretty good for a couple of country boys! Nice to see them dressed up in suits & looking classy.
a good singing voice is a good singing voice, regardless of genre.
Austin did this to highlight Rob's talent and ability.
Wow. Never would have guessed. Beautiful.
Beautiful ❤❤❤❤ty for your reaction!😊
Rob is the lower end and Baritone push in the verse proper .... Austin adds the High end brilliantly and the two voices we hear, love and expect to get it done GET IT DONE AGAIN - because the SEVEN NOTES that all Vocalists are challenged to handle ...... THEY DO IT WITH SUCH ABILITY .... easy to see they can do it in ENGLISH as well you hear it in Italian ! !BON APPETITE! jj
I have so enjoyed your reactions for some time including my cousin Jack Jones/Irwin Thomas. You have quite an ear and loved the way you broke this down, although missing a few others these two guy's were stunning and I'd be a liar if I didn't admit a tear or two...perhaps 3 LOL!! Love your content.
Seriously, Austin & his peeps could sing the phone book, in any language!!!
Ear candy. I could tell by the smile on your face, you really enjoyed it.
Home Free has a new video out today @1pm called Cruise. You might try Johnathan Antoine who got his start on Britain's got talent where everyone laughed at them till he sang he is very good and has quite a few video's and followers. I think he has sang Nessun Dorma too
Beautiful ❤
Sir... If you would like to hear how high Austin can sing, try "Bring Him Home" from "Les Miserables".
That was amazing 😮
the late, great Pavarotti ( R.I.P.) says....."you better sing, boys!" -- btw Nessun Dorma means "no one sleeps" and this aria is sung by all the great and near great operatic vocalists.......originally composed for one male voice, though female artists have also sung this beautiful piece of music........
So, do we think Mr. Boyd is ready for Tim Foust's "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay"?
Rob should've done this as a solo. Both are tremendously talented, but it's evident that Rob has the training and the placement. It sounds like he's made for this solo
There is nothing wrong with Austin's placement. Unfortunately although lyric tenors like Austin are far more in demand than the heavy Italianate voices, people persist in thinking that only those heavy voices can sing opera.
@patriciamcl54 you can tell he's not trained in opera, and can tell that rob has
Two of my favorite singers 🎉!!!!
Rob is a tenor singer so it makes sense that he can get up there
Amazing what these guys can do, huh!?! And at 1st glance along with everyone else -- thought it to be a joke ....... butttttttt : ) They go and do this --- hey, it's only been years, huh!!! Let's Goooo!!! Be Safe
They are amazing!
Son geniales!!
❤ this perfect performance. I'm dedicating this to new parents everywhere..
Its mean 'None shall Sleep'😅
