Used to pike fish the Fens from the 60s lived near Kings Lynn I noticed the decline of pike in the early eighties and the drop in size. Sold my pike gear 2 years ago as arthritis stopped me being able to get to the swims. Know the area well where your fishing like your approach and dedication. I too was a lone angler
I like the way you accept the blanks and try to teach others to accept them. It's not always instant success, enjoy the days, learn, and be patient. Took me 4 sessions to land a PB Chubb last year but that 4th session made it all worthwhile. ATB MMMD
Iv just found your channel mate and your videos are really enjoyable me and the wife warch them together. You have sessions we all dream of with some very large fish gracing your net. All your tackle is on point keep it up
Glad you uploaded this tbf. Makes us all feel a bit better to see you're human too and not just catching 10 a day 😂😂🎣 hopefully more luck next time out !
A lake near me holds really nice pike, I only carp fish it but would be interested in trying, would you suggest I start with lure fishing or straight to deadbaits if or when I try it?
Hi. My fishery is about 20 feet deep and the bottom has grasses growing about 4 feet above the bottom. What technique do you recommend to target pike? Recently I had three bites on a paternoster set but at this depth there were some limitations in casting the rig.
I would use a float and set the depth around 12 inches above the grass and have it drifting around , regular recasting will intrigue the fish and hopefully youll bag one 👌
Omg wtf lol. Gutted no pike mate but a crab???!! I crying. Never expected that!! I off Somerset levels tomorrow in search of them big girls. Wish me luck cool

Watching your vids inspired me to get out on local drains, managed a 15lb on a half mackerel. Keep up the good work
Great content mate, straight talking and making sense 👍👊
I had a 6 pound Chubb on a deadbait last week, wasn’t expecting anything but a pike
Nice chapter mate. Good to see you doing Q&A’s during your sessions! Keep on doing these👍🏻

Another great video ... been barbel fishing all season .... switching to pike now ... find these videos interesting.
👍
Them mitten crabs look a nightmare. I always get my baits nailed my Signal crayfish. My local canal is that full of them. I've given up fishing it
Next time I'll be popping up my deadbaits to avoid the crabs, I only found out it was crabs at the end of the session, but lesson learnt
Am hoping to see you fish some big pits and reservoirs this season 😁 somewhere different from your usual Scotland as you mentioned 👍
Haven't fished Scotland yet mate
Awesome watch , great videos and angling
Thanks pal

Great video. Would popping up the baits work when mitten crabs are about?
Yes that would the way forward, I didn't know it was mitten crabs until last hour of the session - typical
I like your style 👍
Thanks tom

Hello mate, just for a future Q&A.
How do you combat the weed on big lakes? I'm always concerned that my bait is buried in it
Watch this one pal :-

A lake near me holds really nice pike, I only carp fish it but would be interested in trying, would you suggest I start with lure fishing or straight to deadbaits if or when I try it?
Give lures a go and see if there's many in there , then move onto deadbaits for the bigger ones
Hi mate . What size float do you use ? And does float size matter as long as the lead is free running cheers mate
Any float will work mate
Would you use oils or attraction injected in the baits when its cloudy?
I've tried them over the years but never made any difference in my fishing

Do you ever find the kebab rig effective on a tricky day
I've tried the kebab rig but never really had much joy with it
Thank you for the reply. Just getting back into pike fishing and find you videos really helpful. Keep up the good work. Tight lines
Nobody wants crabs 🦀. Will you be doing a video on eels ?
