Do they really need refinishing? How do you decide? I can imagine wanting the restoration without abandoning the original finish?
It’s certainly not necessary. Many clients choose to keep the original finish.
Very much a dying art. The restoration of what is an object of the good, the true, the noble...
so how long did it take?
About 5 months working on them a couple days a week.
I shudder to consider how much it cost to restore one of these Steinways.🙀
