      It's been several months since I last watched a Jorbs video, so I was genuinely baffled for a while why anyone would just jump to the bottom of the deep end like that. I was thinking he was just that cocky for a bit until I remembered he's the guy with eleventy hundred hours in Slay the Spire and he will go that hard just to feel alive and playtest the game at its utmost.

    You know this digital board game is really cool. My only complaint is that there is a lot of math and pieces you could forget about. Someone should turn this into an automated video game so that it does the math for you, kind of like how the spirit island board game has a video game on steam that does the math for you.
    Imagine how cool that would be, an automated slay the spire boardgame on steam.

    Jorbs: I will make a deck that goes infinite, or very close, using Overclock+ and Recycle+.
    Awakened One: Dazes (including those added by Overclock+) are now Voids.
    We will never know if the duo would have survived this obstacle.

    I’ve been waiting for this!
    So I played the board game with two other people. We were watcher, defect (me) and silent. The watcher player felt very OP with damage (he’d have like 30 damage turns lol). What I ended up being great at was blocking (frost orbs are way more OP in this game than the video game. It did feel a little sucky that Watcher turns were almost always the most powerful.
    Overall, I thought it was kind of cool as a group experience, but I’d never solo do the board game.

    Overclock turbo scrape is infinite, you play turbo then overclock to draw turbo+daze (and another daze in later iterations) and have another daze in discard, scrape to get back overclock overclock to get scrape and daze (and optionally any other card you want to play) and end with 1 daze in discard and 1 extra energy, rinse repeat.

  • @kobarsos82
    @kobarsos82 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Vulnerability and status effects is probably one of the most common mistakes that can happen in playing. It actually only affects the next one attack, not a whole round of attacks. Once someone attacks a vulnerable enemy, the vulnerability token is supposed to be gone. Huge difference in total damage dealt. Weakening monsters is the same, its only valid for one attack and this goes both ways. It does not end at end of turn, it actually needs an attack to be made.

  • @Caesar512
    @Caesar512 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    This melted my brain and I even got it wrong the first time I thought I had it figured out--tl;dr there is no ifinite. There's no issue with the amount of draw or the amount of energy generation (it is neutral in both) but the specific set of circumstances of dazed ordering makes it fizzle--I think that's why this is so hard to see.
    Whenever you play overclock to refill your hand you get OD in discard, you can always swap it for scrape to get it back and have SD in discard and OT back in hand, however whenever you play turbo you will have a discard pile of TDSD, but when you go to play overclock you only draw 3 and you might draw TDD orphaning overclock in your discard and scrape in your draw pile. If you were drawing from discard in order it would be no problem to leave the bottom dazed behind and redraw it later, but critically all 4 cards come to the draw pile and in a random order. If it were not the case the loop would be STOSO as that is both card and energy neutral, but it tries to draw 3 cards from a pile of 4 discards so it doesn't loop.

      Not true actually (at least now). Confirmed yesterday by a dev - first you finish the card's effect, then any applicable triggers happen. So killing louses with whirlwinds and similar effects is very much effective now.

    Its cool. What worries me most, is that it seems like "misplaying"/"cheating" has gone to a new level with the board game from what we see here. Feels like you can forget things in every single combat, way easier than forgetting things in the digital game lol, well partly since the digital game automatically calculates stuff. Will definitely need hardcore boardgame players dedicated to not forgetting anything each turn for each player. Maybe a DM to oversee things is needed. Its insanely easy to count things wrongly.

    • @Ghorda9
      @Ghorda9 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      a dm isn't needed because it's just coop pve, it isn't competitive and all the information you need is right on the board in the form of cards, tokens and dice.

    • @kobarsos82
      @kobarsos82 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Ghorda9 Well, it doesn't change the fact that a lot of mistakes can be made. Its a matter of how much you care for the game to be played as it was intended. Its not a matter of competitive play.
      There is too much stuff going on, and the more players you add, the easier it becomes to simply break the game by omissions/miscalculations and mistakes. Then you end up not playing the same game but something else.

    • @Ghorda9
      @Ghorda9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@kobarsos82 each player can also watch everyone else for mistakes when they're not doing things, it's only polite for everyone to take turns taking their turn.

    • @Ghorda9
      @Ghorda9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@kobarsos82 the same argument can be made for any complicated card game, also a dm is just as likely to make mistakes as everyone else, the only reason why tabletop rpgs need a dm is because a dm is the one crafting the story and setting up surprises for the players.
