I think the Fortuneteller is a very underrated episode. That scene between Aang and Meng always gets me too. Young heartbreak can be tough, she's just doing her best out here 😭
You already crying with these episodes (which are still great, of course) makes me anxious for the upcoming episodes from book 2 and 3! But I love when reactors show emotions (or it's just me loving Avatar too much, idk)... Anyway, great reaction and props to the edit at the very, very end😂
@@johnnyluong10 Watching reactors has become a major pastime for me. So basically, I spend much of my leisure time watching reactors laugh and cry. I find myself wondering, "How did I get here?!" It's a pretty benign activity, especially compared to things like drugs, alcohol, gambling, junk food, or anything that wastes a lot of money.
15:50 Did you notice in that scene when Iroh and Zuko meet June in that bar, she's armwrestling a guy that they modeled after Ryu from Street Fighter. Just a little easter egg 😁
It's also good to remember that Sokka and Katara are literally the only two people Aang knows and can rely on in the whole world. Everyone he knew before is long dead, except for Bumi of course. It makes sense that Aang would be terrified about them leaving him.
If you noticed in episode 12 when lightning struck Zuko's ship, Iroh was able to redirect it's impact to the sea, so that should give some insight. It then shows his hair hilariously standing on end with smoke radiating from him lol
Um, I've never heard of not reading the episode titles. We all watched the serious for the first time and saw the episode titles. I don't think it's a problem. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Sokka might have gained some problematic traits that needed to be stamped out from having to mature without parental figures to guide him, but this episode really shows that he also gained a few positive traits those experiences.
@Sailor Kayla I want to make you aware that in the ATLA Series. One of the Major themes is about (Fathers) and (Why Fathers are Necessary) Male Role model figures. You got to see this in episode 15, episode 12 (The Storm) both Zuko & Aang's, Episode 3 (The Eastern Air Temple) Aang's and also Zuko's briefly, Episode 1 & 2 (The Boy in the Iceberg) about Sokka. You'll also see it in the last 2 episodes of the Season. I feel it doesn't get talked about about or hardly at all. It is placed all throughout the series, so there is a lot more to come. Thanks for the reaction, very much enjoyed it Keep Doing Your Best
There were more than a few times I wiped away tears I didn't know I shed after finishing an episode for the first time. I don't think anyone earnestly watching the show is quite ready for how Avatar can affect them.
The fourtune teller isn't a scam artist because she doesn't charge for her service, it's also not human error either. Aunt Woo predicts the outcome of a event not the details. When she said the man was going home safe she was right because that was the outcome the details that lead to that outcome was Aang and his team, the same goes with the village.
I love how Aang copies Zuko's move in the fight at the abbey, when Aang and Zuko are on the rooftop. Zuko runs along the peak of the roof, bending fire to the side, then sweeps the fire towards Aang. Then after Aang pushes Zuko into the wall, he does the exact same move with air.
I would like to think that Sokka not only understood what his father meant by saying "Being a man is knowing where you are needed the most" but also understood what kind of trauma Aang has. He knows how it felt having his father and people leave. Thinking back on Aang, how all his people were slaughtered and had nobody left. He probably has severe abandonment problems and general trauma that explains his behavior of hiding the map. Any adult or child would react illogically in those situations. So, it's not just an unfounded childish immature act. I have had to watch this show many times to deduce details I didn't catch on my first viewing.
Kayla, in case I haven't mentioned it in a while, I'm thoroughly enjoying watching ATLA with you. I love all of these characters, so watching you be emotionally affected by the characters' journeys... It feels really good. If you ever feel a little self-conscious about getting emotional and tearing up, it might help to remember that some percentage of us viewers are tearing up too. It might be 80% of us or 20% of us, but it will hardly ever be zero %.
@@sailorkaylax Aw. You reactors brighten my day all the time. If I can brighten your day, just by sharing some of my thoughts, I'm gonna do it.
