Argh! How disappointing to see your drone shots at the overlook. Ha. Not really as you just made me envious. I was there at the end of April, sunset and sunrise and of all times, I had difficulty getting the drone to cooperate. Yep, operator error. Just a stunning area though and some great textures, shapes and shadows as you indicated. Fun to play with the colors as well in the still photographs. Who would ever think you could take a photograph and in it have the moonscape, Mars, Island In The Sky and the La Sal mountains. It's a place I plan to literally "bounce" back into (the road) and hopefully catch the Mars side as well. Totally enjoyed seeing what you captured here and I'm sure that you also will be planning a return with more time and cooperative skies.
Awesome stuff Chris, sat and watched this while eating my breakfast and really enjoyed it (the video, not my breakfast...although the breakfast was also pretty good). The place looks incredible and I absolutely can't wait to get over there with you guys later this year. Some wonderful images too, the abstract of the rocks is really really lovely.
Great video of a great location (Sue & I were there in April, camped where you were mid-video). One of our favorite spots. Watching this again today as I missed commenting earlier due to my busy retirement schedule.🤪 The b/w 6x12 is very nice. Next time you've got to hike up to the Butte, there's some crazy stuff as you get close. Might be a tad warm now. Thanks for posting.
I’m just finishing the Iceland series. Iceland was absolutely beautiful, but so is southern Utah…just in very different ways. Great content. I’m enjoying your work very much!
Hi Chris, this is really an outstanding place! As usual - masterful images, but my own pick will be for Delta 100 images. IMHO, they really shows the true souls of the place...
Very nice Chris. On the final shot, I was surprised how the reflected light lit the white stones in the foreground. The subtle streaks in the sky really added a lot. For a rushed shot, I really liked that one. Enjoyed the video.
Nice Chris, love to get there some day. Can I please make a suggestion. When showing the final images, maybe show just as is or with a small white background. It’s distracting having the image defocused in the background layer
The b&w pano is beautiful, but the Belt of Venus is sublime. "Sky blue pink" was my mother's favorite color and I always think of her when seeing the Belt of Venus. It apparently only took a month for the algorithm to serve up this vid. In the meantime I get bombarded with d!&!+@l vids about what lens some guy just bought or what he just found out about ISO. I don't subscribe to those channels and never watch them. But TH-cam is determined to stuff them down your throat. Please keep 'em coming.
My favorite area. Go there 3 to 4 times a year. Each time I go I find myself taking less photos and droning more. I love how you are using film. My pixels don't cost anything. Using film in the past really taught me to concentrate on the composition. A great video, really enjoyed it. I feel like we have met, do you live around the Layton area?
I really enjoy watching your videos on a Sunday afternoon.
I liked the drone sweep of the canyon. Oh, and I liked the images too. ;-)
Can't believe I haven't been here. Add it to my list!

The Venus belt shot is superb

Loved the drone footage. Great Black and White and the twilight shot at the end. What's 18℉ in Kelvin? 🥶🤣
Really liked your BW shot Chris! Cheers!

Great work chris! Looks like an awesome spot. You came away with some good ones! The cold temps probably kept it quiet too 👍
Great video. Absolutely loved the black and white image. Nicely done!
Yay, you're back 🙂 Those Martians knew how to build a colourful hill, a good location and fine images.
Always a beautiful video.
Excellent shots Chris! Really like your work 🙂
Wonderful area to photograph & some really nice images. You are always in the cold how about the Everglades for a change?

I've only got one box of Velvia 50 4x5 left. I guess it's Provia and E100 after that. Maybe Fuji will reconsider dropping it.

the last rushed velvia picture is not bad at all
When they caught their shadow in the picture, Ansel Adams, Edward Weston, and Imogen Cuningham all called their images "Self Portraits"....lol
Are you planning on some more Zion trips?
Always! Hopefully before long…
Nothing wrong with a shadow selfie
