What once started in my tiny bedroom upstairs when the house was still my parent’s home, to moving into a small spare bedroom in a condo when I moved out, to then moving back to my childhood home when I bought it and placed in a slightly bigger bedroom, to then finally taking up the entire basement for the past ten years, my collection has moved around a lot and has also grown considerably. Hopefully this next move to Florida is the last one!

Can you please document the build out of the new library - that would be fun to watch and learn.
Yes, I second this!
Yes, I third this.
Fourth! Some of my favorite content on this channel is time spent organizing and curating the library.
Absolutely will!
Would be very interesting.
Wow. This is certainly bitter sweet to say the least.
I've been following your other channel CinemaSickness just about daily for close to right around 10 years now. (I forget exactly when I started watching daily, but it was definitely right around the time this library was first completed, so probably right around Mid-Late 2013). So I've watched this library as it has changed and grown over the years. (I still remember when the TV and couch were in the original spot, before the rearrangement, and I still vividly remember what the library looked like before the great purges of 2019 and 2022). And every time a new library tour video was posted, I always got really excited, and I would always be blown away by how amazing the library looked in every video. So it has definitely been quite a trip seeing this library of yours grow into what it has now become, which I do agree is definitely more impressive than it was before the purge. So it is kind of sad that this will indeed be the last time we see it like this before the move. With that said though, I have no doubt that the eventual new Florida library will look just as impressive, if not possibly even more impressive, and I highly look forward to seeing what the new library will look like in about a year or so when it is completed. So yeah, I am certainly going to miss seeing the old Pennsylvania library, but at the same time, at least I can anticipate seeing a whole new Florida library in the near future! And even after the move and the new library is completed, we'll always still have these old library tour videos to reminisce!
So I am glad to have been part of this journey of yours for the past 10 years, and I look forward to seeing what the next year brings to you and me! I have no doubt that this next year will be an epic and amazing one!
So thank you Dave for being a big part of my life for the past 10 years, and allow me to end this by saying,
#GoodLuckOnTheMove
Very well said. Its the end of an era. Been watching since 2010 I think (though not daily) so I remember the condo library. And the small library with a computer in the closet
Can’t wait to see the new setup in Florida
I can’t believe you don’t have a surround sound set up down there! Even just a small 5.1 system would be fucking awesome!!!
Moving must be your worst nightmare. I can’t imagine moving all that stuff. Great set up!
I'm very excited for you to move to Florida can't wait to see what you have planned for the new library
Good luck on the move! I can't wait to see you set up the new space. Please show us how you go about doing it.
I love horror too especially during this time of year. In fact, right now I'm rewatching all of the Halloween movies.
Hey! Just a video game collector here who casually picks up some DVDs, HD DVDs, Blu Rays and VHS when thrifting and its just so cool to see and hear your expertise on this topic. Thanks so much for such a detailed video showing off your collection, i truly learned so much! Excited to see more in the future. #GoodLuckOnTheMove!
Will you be documenting the move and tear down of the current library and build out of the new library as videos?
Yes. I will.
@@RetroRestStop on here or Cinemasickness?
Probably here
@@RetroRestStop yes! 🤘
Very surprising that you do not have a proper sound system. Almost anything is better than the TV speakers. George Lucas once stated that “sound is 50 percent of the moviegoing experience” and he is 100 % right.
Ehh
Amazing collection and setup! As a collector of media, comic books, etc., I can appreciate how much time you spent perfecting and catalogueing your collection. Good luck in Florida and looking forward to your next video.
What a nice collection! thanks for showing us :)
I miss Blockbusters. This reminds me of Blockbusters. I like that.
Dude, thanks for sharing! Very impressive! 🎉
I love finding and watching old 8mm 16mm films on my projectors...i go to thriftshops and find old film homemovies then we watch them..scary tho..but fun..kinda fun to see old home movies from families etc ..holidays and vacations from the 60s etc...fun.
I’ll miss the many adventures with Chris and the gang, feels like we’re on the last season of the PA sitcom. But looking forward to new Florida library spinoff show coming soon
Ha. So many new adventures coming. And the gang is always invited to stay in the guest room.
I'm a 57yr old guy, and I like the Spice Girls too. There are other British girl pop groups I like; Atomic Kitten and Girls Aloud. And for about the last decade I've really gotten into the K-Pop girl groups.
My most important LaserDisc was stolen by someone in the crew who tented my house for termites. I don't have any video proof but I live alone and it was there the last time I looked in the cabinet where it was before the tenting and gone the first time I looked months after the tenting. Of course I couldn't prove it so there was no point calling the company. The LD was The Definitive Star Wars Collection which cost $250. I'm surprised he didn't steal my special editions of Alien and Aliens too, because why not? So the most special disc in my collection now is a blood red LD of Evil Dead 2. I admit it looks cool as hell, but unlike star wars there is nothing special about the contents on the disc.
I really liked the way you hid the water valves with the adults only curtains. It is very clever and as you said ties into the whole theme of the room. It's a shame you have to leave it. How great would it be if whoever buys your house has a video collection, or any collection for that matter? The built-in shelves would be put to good use. Would make a great pantry for a prepper too!
LOVE your set up! Totally appreciate the methodical organization, too - I’d happily live down there for a long weekend, hahaa 🍻📼💿
Ha! The only reason I haven’t put a mini fridge down here is because I know id never leave. 😂
Been watching your channel for YEARS! Hope the new place is even bigger and better
It totally will be. Gonna be a lot of work rebuilding it though!
#GoodLuckOnTheMove, Dave. Moving is never easy, but judging by how well you've organized your movie/media room over the years as well as your stuff for various toy shows and events, I'm sure you'll be a pro when it comes to organizing a major move to Florida. All the best! :)
It's more of a rental store than a library, impressive collection.
Amazing! You have more movies than our local HMV shop 😂 xx
I enjoyed this tour 😊 It's very exciting to see! It's all displayed so nicely. The Adult sections are really creative. So much to look at! I can't believe you have to move it all, I don't want you to touch anything!! Lol Cant wait until late next year to see the new tour! 🎉 #goodluckonthemove
Wow, your library is amazing! Thank you for the walk through. I think my favorite part was the HDMI splitter playing the same video around the library for the rental store vibe. This encourages me to start working on my collections.
Awesome! Good luck with everything! It
Was a lot of fun setting everything up!
This is absolutely amazing. I love movies and its really cool to see. I can tell you love it. Much respect for the work put in.
saw the Innkeepers in your misc. case, so glad to see it still in your collection...nice to be a part of adding to your collection
That will always be something I keep! Thanks again!!!
#GoodLuckOnTheMove
Your media room is always amazing, Dave, and a MAZE of wonders that are very well organized and impressive. Thanks for an inspiring updated tour. :)
Subbed. Your collection is amazing, bro.
I'm always impressed with your library very impressed
So how much more room will you have in your new film room?
In you misc. section, take the kids shows and make a Kids/PBSKids section with them.
A collection that i wish to make one day. Very nice.
My wife wants me to alphabetize my collection but I always tell her that if I get a movie that starts with an "F" then I would have to move around 7,000 movies just to fit the movie/video on the shelf. It would make finding movies/videos a lot easier but for the most part I know where they are. I sort my videos by genre and also by actor and also split formats as well. Nice lay out for sure. I've been thinking of doing a layout like this so I can have space for new videos but it isn't feasible right now. Last year alone I picked up 1954 physical media videos not including my VHS pick ups and I am now starting to grab multi-feature DVDs to save space and upgrading my DVDs to blu-ray because they tend to have a thinner case.
And also... another reason not to alphabetize... what do you do with a sequel that don't have the same title? For example "48 hours" and "Another 48 hours".
Can you explain what the actraction is with VHS TAPES ??? Why does some one want those tapes ????
@@6324jorge Nostalgia and some movies are the original theatrical cut without edits.
That definitely IS a library lol
I agree with the idea of Mixing formats together, i too think movie Collections look better that way, it just makes it more epic.
Hey great stuff my friend! I worked at a blockbuster video from 2005 to 2010 and it made me reminisce about those times and being around movies and people who love movies as well. You're right, there is really a joy in seeing your collection and reliving those memories of finding rare films in obscure places throughout your life. I love that sentiment for sure. As someone who frequents the stores in pawnshops myself, is there any movie format or movie title I should look out for that might be worth purchasing due to its rarity? I've always wondered about that. Anyway, thanks again for sharing your cinephile Curation of coolness and gosh darn it, watch for that anime would you?? Haha Take care!
I agree it does definitely make sense to mix formats together. I organize my movies by genre, and not alphabetical.
You can still do both....
Nothing short of extraordinary. An absolutely phenomenal collection. Truly awesome! 👏👍👏
Great movie collection keep up the great work & you are the man
A true labor of love. I'd be in the horror section most of the time.
#Goodluckonthemove Very nice collection thanks so much for giving us a final look at your library before you move to your new home!
I'm glad that getting all of the Walt Disney Treasures is a big goal of yours. I personally have all 30 of them, although I missed out on the two Zorro sets when they came out, so I paid about $150 for both of them on eBay, which was expensive but absolutely worth it!
I also noticed that at least of your Walt Disney Treasures sets are still factory-sealed. Do you not plan on ever watching them then or are they there for collector's sake?
I had so much cool signage when i left blockbuster. I was saving it for when i could move out and display it but my mom get rid of most of it. The two i miss the most are the lifesize standee of indiana jones (from the release of the trilogy on dvd) and a life szie batman from the animated series. I dont even want to imagine what those might be worth nowadays 😓.
Anyways awesome room and a great way to document before the move.
#GoodLuckOnTheMove
Love your Disney and Animation sections!
It was cool to see a few video discs…inspiring collection ❤ #goodluckwiththemove
You have your own Blockbuster in your house lol.
This is true
I have 6000 CDs, 800 DVD/BLU RAY and 2500 books.
@@CDCollector2024 you’ve got enough to get on Wikipedia physical media collections page. Lowest has 10,000, less than you!
I have 855 movies/shows (DVD, bluray, and vhs)
Very nice video library. I need something like this, I have a ton of dvds.
Amazing job!
Awesome..wish i had the room for my collection of games and movies..
It’s crazy impressive to see in person. I saw it about 6 years ago when I sold Dave and his friend my laserdisc collection and it’s only grown exponentially and in coolness since then!
I love the setup man ❤
Thanks!!!
Make sure if moving to Florida your away from that ocean with your collection. Also forgot theyve got bad problems with the wildlife too. Hope the move is safe and you'll be liking the new place.🙂
I know you got some movies that you dont really care about. I used to want a collection like this until i realized i wanted curated shelves with only the best of the best on them and not just mindless consumerism
Back in before 2019 I did. I got rid of about 50% of my collection back then to rid myself of all the titles I didn’t really care about or would ever watch again. What I have now in this video is a curated collection.
Amazing but How the hell do you pick a movie to watch? There’s so much there, have you even seen it all?
The PS4 is also a region free dvd and bluray player...it also plays games from any region...cool.
32:46 I've created two drama sections; one for historical dramas and one for general dramas, so if a movie or series has an overwhelmingly historical context like prehistoric times, ancient Egypt, ancient Rome, Medieval times, the Renaissance, the turn of the century, the 1920's, 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's, or during various historical wars, etc, I put all of those in my historical drama section while relationship movies that don't fall into the comedy section, will go into my regular drama section.
So, my movies are divided by genres including animation (with separate sections for anime, Disney, Hanna-Barbera, etc.), action/adventure, comedy, historical drama, drama, fantasy, horror, science-fiction, westerns, and various TV series. :)
A friend one year gave me a cool b-day gift for my viewing/bed room. A metal die cut THX sign that used to hang outside of theaters that used THX sound. I think he yanked it off the wall because there is still some of the super heavy duty puffy tape on the back...i was surprised that a tile from the wall wasn't attached as well. A super cool gift I own to this day.
Nice buddy. Great Collection. Good Job. I was a bit worried, then I finally saw the CED Player, and all was well. If you have a lot of 3D videos or not, you can get real nice 3D Projectors for great price. Thanks.- Toronto, Canada.
Man i need a laserdisc player..ive still got my original Superman movie lasdisc..ive been wanting to watch it again..
#goodluckonthemove. I have seen quite a few of your videos. I especially love these walk throughs. Not sure if you have mentioned it but if you don’t mind me asking, why are you moving? Thanks!
Because f**k the cold! 😂
@@RetroRestStopI’d rather have the cold than the heat. My wife and I want to move from the SW to the NE (we have friends out here).
#GoodLuckOnTheMove
And thats an impressive collection you have Dave👍 Wow! Thumbs up from Sweden👍🇸🇪 i have bought a few stuff from you to put in my collection! Haha remember when i bought 2 Ced's from you and the shipping cost to Sweden😂 Oh my god! Have a great one Dave and thanx for all the good videos you've put out on C.S and Retro Rest Stop!
Hope you enjoy Florida! We’ve been here since 2020.
You enjoy it?
We do! We're on the gulf coast and there's plenty to do. Although we came from Louisiana so it couldn't really get worse. Lol. @@RetroRestStop
serious question from a collector , how do you pick what movie to buy ? i get stuck buying what i like only and i come up short, do you just buy whatever you see??
I only buy what i like too
Buy what you like, simple. Maybe take a chance time to time.
Do you know the exact count, and does it include repreats?
Will this be the last tour of this library because of your new library in Florida, and will we get a tour of the new library when it’s done
Yes of course ill do a tour when the new library is up
Can you do a video showing your Marvel, DC & Mission Impossible movie collections?
I have never seen anything like this from a private collection. Absolutely insane. How did you collect that many movies? Tips?
2nd hand thrifting mostly.
@@RetroRestStopI get a bunch from thrift stores. But now I only see the same stuff. The popular quick buys and never watch again, like “the patriot” w/ Mel Gibson for example. Can’t seem to find good variety, if my issue with thrifts.
I collect physicsl media but a also have 5 x 18tb hdd disc with thousends of movie wich saves alit of space for movies i want to own but not physical
Looks great! I started buying DVDs 18 years ago, but I have a Micro Collection compared to yours!
HAHA #GoodLuckOnTheMove
I live in central Florida and was thinking I wish we had basements in Florida that I could put my collection in like this and then at the end of the video you said you’re moving to Florida!!! There are lots of great thrift stores and flea markets in Florida for future videos! If you are in my area I’ll tell you the good ones!
#GoodLuck0nTheMove!
What do you use the SONY VideoCD palyer for?
VideoCD… 🤷🏻
Can you *re watch* any of those titles in your collection?
Or
Are do you Just *watch em once* and that's it & they stay on the shelves ?
Thank you
I rewatch them all the time
i loved seeing your Library for the last time till you pack it all up and move it down to Florida. Can't wait to see what your new library will look like once it is all done. Spice girls are awesome group i have few dolls that i have had since i was in hgih school that i have on display i have the cards as well i remember in middle school we had secret pals where we write a list of like favorite dinks, candy we like music that we like i remember writing i liked the spice girls and my secret pal actually gave me the cassettes tape of spice girls i listened to that thing over and over
# GOOD LUCK ON THE MOVE.
To quote captain jean luc picard "Plenty of letters left in the alphabet."
I am sure your new library will be bigger and better than the original.
Might i suggest theater chairs in the new library?
#goodluckonthemove
I got that same HD VCR at Goodwill for $8. I saw the same Super Blu player for $13 and didn’t grab it, now I wish I did knowing it’s region free. I’ll have to keep an eye out for one!
You see something like that you grab it do not hesatate for tomorrow it will not be there
It would be a dream to have a setup library of DVDs/Blu-rays 4Ks, but here in the UK, basements are rare. To have such a setup in your home over here in the UK, You'd probably need a property over 1 million dollars/pounds to do a similar setup here. I only have about 250-300 Blu-rays/4K in my bedroom, but have had to start stacking and putting other titles in front of others because run out of room.
"I do occasionally go out and thrift" lmao
Do houses in Florida have basements? Or more specifically is the one you're getting have a basement?
Garage.
@@RetroRestStop Nice. Good luck on the move Dave, hope you and your family make it okay and settle in nice.

And have you ever been to a convention held in Louisville Kentucky each year called Wonder Fest?
And here is my fridge.....not for storing food....but for playing Gameboy games with my custom Gameboy player I made for this fridge. 😂😂😂Jk. Cool collection but the fact you had to mention about the GameCube and SNES but you don't play games for the actual system kind of made me laugh and was kind of hoping you would do some kind of wacky joke later on about you're obsession with Gameboy games.
I don’t have an obsession. It’s just the system I collect for.
@@RetroRestStop I know was just doing bad jokes. Awesome collection.
How do you even begin to insure this type of collection do insurance companies charge more for this collection
Awesome. A dream. I gotta know as a physical media super collector, do you have any streaming services? I'm slowly weaning myself off. Thanks for the content!
Yes i do.
Whats crazy is that there are so many movies that theres a large percentage of them that youll never see again
Okay… 🤷🏻
Yes, but it's very annoying when you go to your collection for a disk - only to discover you jettisoned it at some point in order to save space.
I do still jettison movies as I have limited space, but I don't do it on impulse.
@@dazjackson1972 yep
@@RetroRestStop lol but still awesome to have the collection
@@RetroRestStop I was just saying even just end to end theres too many movies to finish in a lifetime. It's a vast collection
This collection is gonna need its own truck to transport to Florida.
This is gonna be a huge pain to box up and move!
This video needs to be on the other channel too.
Nope
@@RetroRestStop Nope, nope to what?!
The video being on your other channel? Don’t know what this particular video has to do with what the Rest Stop channel is all about. It has been a staple of your Cinema Sickness channel since the beginning to have tour videos if the collection on that channel. This channel is more about vlogs that aren’t necessarily all movie related. Sorry, doesn’t make sense.
All I see is another man's treasure.
Oooh I have that Carole Lombard dvd set too! 28:15 xx
I wonder if you have a copy of Biggles? Just a random movie but thought I'd ask if you have it.
Will you ever have time to watch All That you have again?
Nope. 🤷♂️
#GoodLuckOnTheMove was wondering if you still have all the HD-VMD and CBHD titles you have shown in your older videos? I just think it’s amazing you were able to track down not only those players, but actual titles for them! Honestly those finds are what got me hooked on your channel and inspired me to grow my collection lol. Just wondering what ended up happening to them, I would imagine they’d fetch a pretty penny, those players/movies are like holy grail items for me haha
I do still have them all 👍
