    I have to admit, this build is perfect. Lumpy cam, fenderwell headers, dual quads and a true Gasser front end. It screams old school hot rod ❤

    Now lift the back end up put 15×12 wheels with N 50 15 tires on and you got something ! Just lift the back end up ! We didn't drive cars nose high on the street Dan ! They were level with a straight axle , and were called street freaks !

      Looks like a 4” cowl induction hood would make it all weather carb enclosure. It’s a better pick for long run & storage.

    I think you would have liked it a lot better with twin 450s. It’s still 900 CFM which I my opinion would be plenty…… my opinion. Plus your MPG would be better especially with a highway gear.
    Sounds cool for sure

    You need some crankcase evacuation tubes that go from your valve covers to your headers it's like old-school stuff that used to be on hot rods keep the crankcase pressure out of the engine, that way you won't blow any China Wall seals on the back of your intake...

  • @grr4561
    @grr4561 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    You should have hooked a cable up to the butterfly blades so you can use it as a choke, instead of welding them open. The tunnel ram set-ups take a very long time to warm up and don't run very well until fully warm.

  • @ScrapHeap_Garage

    You may need proper valve cover breather ventilation for your PVC vacuum to work properly, it maybe drawing to much of a crank case vacuum into the intake manifold. That can cause some of your Acceleration issues with those double hump 327 heads on the 350 block pulling a stronger vacuum, may also try going to a stronger PVC valve, block off PVC valve and see if there's a difference in exselleration response

    back i my old race car days, we used to make a short jump to the starter solenoid to the hot starter post and use a ford starter solenoid because the heat from the headers would cause the chevvy solenoid to get weak without full voltage, Of course, the fenderwell headers kinda eliminate that problem

    You can do the bearing yourself. You let the Axel get cold hanging out of the freezer for about an hour or just put it in an ice chest get it ice cold. And heat up the bearing with your kitchen stove berner 3-4min.250 degrees.Or set the oven for 300 about 30 minutes assemble parts necessary grab the bearing with a hot pad lower it down the axle line it up around locateing surface and let go it will fall into place and cool and become attached as the axle heats up

    I drove my 68 corvette convertible 900 miles with headers straight into side pipes they were muffled but not enough. My wife was driving and something fell off a semi crushed the right side pipe. I was so happy to pipe it all the way back. It sounds even better and is much more drivable.

    Better make a hood scoop and a foam bock to block the hole because you will run into rain and those two toilet bowls on top will channel a ton of water to the carbs. Could even make a removable scoop to show that bling off.

    If you want to quiet down the exhaust, put steel wool in the pipes near the tip. Use coat hangers in a X pattern to hold it in place. Drill across the pipe and bend the cart hangers. When you burn up the steel wool, pull the coat hanger pieces and repack the pipe. This will help during the trip. Don’t worry about CTC.
