In the 1980's, and after Fox was up and running, I was in Bundaberg in Australia, a town of about 30,000 people, I needed work so I went down to the NewsMail, a newspaper owned by Murdoch. It was 4am, because I wanted to get a newspaper before they hit the newsstands. As I was waiting Murdoch walked in, took a quick look at the presses, and went into an office. A worker there told me that every year Murdoch comes in to personally go over the books. I was impressed by how early he was there, but that despite owning hundreds of newspapers, television networks, and movie studio he could come to an unimportant small city, and check the accounts, and apparently would fly to another city that same day, to check the books for the newspaper there, and would be at work in the dark before dawn. I was amazed.

I can attest to how controlling Murdoch is. In the 1980's, and after Fox was up and running, I was in Bundaberg in Australia, a town of about 30,000 people, I needed work so I went down to the NewsMail, a newspaper owned by Murdoch. It was 4am, because I wanted to get a newspaper before they hit the newsstands. As I was waiting Murdoch walked in, took a quick look at the presses, and went into an office. A worker there told me that every year Murdoch comes in to personally go over the books. I was impressed by how early he was there, but that despite owning hundreds of newspapers, television networks, and movie studio he could come to an unimportant small city, and check the accounts, and apparently would fly to another city that same day, to check the books for the newspaper there, and would be at work in the dark before dawn. I was amazed.
Rupert is 92, his mother, Lady Elizabeth Murdoch was a very spritely 103 when she passed away, so....also, it has been suggested that Lachlan is THE MOST right-wing member of the family. Also I think you may be wrong that Lachlan won't be in charge. I think perhaps he may have made some ultimatums to the old man.
Even though Rupert doesn't like Trump it doesn't excuse him from his actions.....
