First year trying to grow mulberries. Have probably 20 cuttings I'm sprouting from 3 different varieties. Which variety is the white mulberry you have? Also, where in surprise were you a le to grow mulberry in the front yard? Your HOA dosnt flip?
I talked to one of our HOA architectural design ladies a few years ago and she told me that the rules haven't changed since 1996. We put in a request to grow our Pluot tree and we were approved to grow anything but Citrus or sissoo in our front yard! So I said game on LOL
@@TreehouseVineyard I feel the Pakistan Mulberry is a good substitute for the Shangri-La. Just about the same size of fruit and production but half the leaf size! LOL
I have a 5 year old dwarf everbearing in a 20 gal and it produces like crazy! It's over 20 feet tall despite me putting the crap out of it. The berries are delicious, but the problem is that the ones I can't to, fall to the ground whenever the wind blows and gets stepped on and attracts alot of flies. So be mindful of that when you're planting in the front. I'm actually thinking of grafting a white Pakistan onto it and just foregoing the everbearing, due to the mess it makes. If I had to do it again, I would plant it in the corner where there is no foot traffic.
Following for Mulberry content! I too want to try to make Mulberry wine 🍷 I have an 8 year old potted from seed that's just starting to put out berries. Probably won't be as productive as a tree in the ground but I have high hopes!
I got 2 everbearing mulberry cutting. I heard they stay smaller and bushy which is why I got them. How do you compare them to Pakistan. I heard Pakistan is a lot better. Thinking about getting some Pakistan or other cuttings. Most likely growing all in 15g pots. Even my 6 inch stick mulberry has fruit on it.
My opinion all mulberries are great even the white mulberry. Every bearing Mulberry will grow up to 20 ft tall or more if you let it go. Yes with a bit of work all mulberry trees can be pruned to stay small and bushy.
The Pakistan and Shangri-La mulberries are longer and have a higher sugar content, which is said to be a lot better because of that. Shangri-La and Pakistan trees look a little different but the fruit is very similar. Shangri-La by far has the largest leaves, sometimes over 12 in across. That size will require a lot more space.
WOW!!!
That is a lot of fruit for a 2 year old tree!!
This is our first attempt at growing a dwarf everbearing mulberry tree, so far so good!
13th Like 👍 Excellent Video 🎉
I appreciate your support 🙏 Have a great Evening..
Thanks brother, I appreciate you! 😎
@@AmzBackyardOrchardandVineyard you're very welcome 😁 Likewise Friend..
How many bottles of wine do you think it will make?
This growing season We are hoping to make at least a gallon of wine with this tree.
If we can make a gallon of wine, that should priduce Maybe 5 bottles of black mulberry wine!

That's exciting! 20 cuttings is pretty good, have they started sprouting yet?
I believe it's just the common white mulberry, they are very popular in the area of Glendale that I grew up in.

We live in an older neighborhood of Surprise.
Great video. I grow lits of varieties here in Tucson 9a. I like pruning my mulberries to open center.
Thank you! We want more varieties but we'll have to graft them on to existing trees.
What other varieties do you grow?
@AmzBackyardOrchardandVineyard I just made a video earlier today I'll post in the next few days. Stay tuned!
@AmzBackyardOrchardandVineyard I understand that, they demand real estate.
Are you growing Mulberry trees? Let us know!
We have black, red and white fruiting mulberry and recently got a Pakistan that’s potted until fall.
Those are phenomenal varieties! We want to grow more mulberry varieties but they'll need to be grafted LOL
@@AmzBackyardOrchardandVineyard the Pakistan is grafted, got it bare root from Ison’s Nursery.

Good to know! Our tree just hit the 8-ft mark. It's done with its spring fruit, and now it's starting to put on some serious vegetative growth.
I almost want to slow down the watering to keep the size down LOL I'll just have to keep pruning it to keep the size down.
I have seen 20 ft tall Everbearing Mulberry trees and it would definitely be a challenge to harvest the fruit at the top!

We just posted a video today with our Everbearing Mulberry. Our white mulberry is starting to ripen, we will get you a white mulberry video very soon!
As soon as we get a full gallon bag of mulberries we will be making wine!
8 years old! That's awesome, congrats on the fruit! What variety is your mulberry?
