Hamble is one of the most expensive places to moor your yacht. Lovely place. Have sailed their many times as I keep my boat at Marchwood just across the water and up stream a bit from where you are staying. If you cross the river to Warsash and cycle north you’ll pass me re marinas and eventually find a pub called the jolly sailor and elephant boat yard where Howard’s way was filmed. Thanks for a fun video.
Locations looked great, weather, less so!! Great vid - hope you’re getting on ok on your current trip? We blew it out in the end due to the weather. Currently near Nice in France and heading into Italy tomorrow - enjoying the 🌞
Just got one of these for £103 3 bike Thule clamp on, on a famous auction site, worth a look. Sorry about the crash but rather a bike rack than Herman!!
That headache is brain freeze put your tongue on the roof of your mouth to cure it. I have frappe all the time in Brisbane so cooling on a hot stinking day 😂 Sorry about the rear end bingle hope all is ok with Herman 🤞😊
one good thing is having a towbar fitted makes insurance cheaper ,i was expecting to have to pay more when i got my towbar fitted but instead it reduced my insurance quote
@@HermanHitstheRoad Think about it, my tow bar is bolted onto the chassis will take the force of a bump, if you don't have a tow bar you're straight into your motorhome body. Probably why it's cheaper - my guess.
Yeah, I totally agree but don't recall my insurance company ever asking about it or there being a space for it on the insurance docs. I'll ask them the next time I have to call, if I remember 🤣👍
@@HermanHitstheRoad Yes, I was never asked about a tow bar regarding my MH insurance. But, you can see an advantage to having one from a practical stand point. I was merely responding to the original comment.
Sorry to see what happened to Herman but surely this is the fault of the person who drove into you, it always is if you're rear ended. I hope you got their details so you can claim. 🙂
@HermanHitstheRoad sadly that's insurance companies. They'd rather a "knock for knock" as both drivers end up having to make a financial contribution. If it was the other way round & you said the other driver braked hard so I hit them, the insurance company would say, you should've left a bigger gap. Odds stacked in insurance companies favour as they make the rules. 🙄
Will you stop bending that bus Adz , she's an old lady now . Okay well i don't know for sure , but they may well have flown flying boats from Hamble Le Rice . Southampton is the home of Supermarine , probably their most famous aircraft being the Spitfire . However they were responsibly for the Sunderland , and also the Shneider trophy S5 and S6 floatplanes back in 30's . Incidentally they were also designed by R J Mitchell who later went on to design the afore mentioned Spitfire . Bit of useless information for ya Adz .
Herman is a he/him, Mickey 🤣🤣👍 As for the Supermarine Spitfire, I saw that movie too, 🤣😉. Thanks for the info, though. I didn't know that was what Hamble le Rice was famous for
@@HermanHitstheRoad Oh Adz , all vehicles are a her . Always misbehaving , argumentative , and awkward (should i duck now?) . I'm not saying they did actually do that there , it's just a possibility . Southampton was the home of Supermarine , and they must have flown from somewhere . Trouble is sea , and float planes need water to take off , handy for landing too . Vospers are on the Hamble , bit further up Southampton water , you can see them from the Itchen bridge . That could make flight operations a bit awkward further down , plus i'm not totally sure where the actual factory was situated . Supermarine were responsibly for a number of flying boats , Walrus , a later version Sealand ? , one plane was actually called a Southampton , and a couple more whose names escape me now . There was even a Spitfire that was tested on floats , again i dunno if it made production , let alone active service . I could look the others up , but i'm going from memory right now .
@@mickey1299 Hamble-le-Rice was the home of a major flying school before and during the Second World War for aircraft including the Spitfire, the Lancaster and the Wellington. Over 500 aircraft were built there, The south airfield has long since disappeared and the north airfield has been partially developed as housing; the remainder is overgrown and owned by property developers.
Awesome videos, Thank You adz Zoe
Glad you like them, @hornetboy3694! Thanks 👍👍
Looked a lovely place to explore. Sorry that you had a bump but glad that Herman and you two are ok. Take care Gill
Thanks Gill 👍👍
Sorry to hear about the bike rack, they're not cheap, but then repairs to Herman wouldn't be either.
Exactly what I thought, Bob. Thanks 👍👍
Oh no ! Sorry to hear about your bike rack. Otherwise seemed like a nice weekend at your regular favourite site 😃👍🏻🚐💙 Trev n Sue
Thanks @PoshcatsCamping 👍👍. Yeah, we love it there
Oh, adz, I feel for you both. But you're both safe. Take care and see you soon, hopefully 😊
Thanks Julie 👍👍

I hasn't aware there was a cure for brain freeze, Susan. Thanks, I'll try that the next time 👍👍
I think Hamble is where the infamous _The Yard_ was in Howard's Way
Others have said that too, Michael 👍👍
People driving to fast and not concentrating again, hope you get sorted soon both take care at least your both ok😊
Thanks Chrissey
Sorry about the Prang! Good that only the Bike Rack got damaged otherwise you'll be off the road for weeks if not months! :-(
Thanks Peter, that's what I thought

I've heard boats dissolve money even quicker than motorhomes do.
Very possibly true, Michael 👍👍🤣
Which campsite?
The campsite is called Ocean House
@@HermanHitstheRoad Thanks!
Consider your self lucky our motorhome was nicked
Oh no 😲, Beverly. That's really sad. Did you get it back? Does it have a tracker?
So sorry to hear that
