There isn’t really a step by step way to do it because every song is different. But my usual process is to first recreate elements from the studio recording that’s carried over to the live version. That’s different for every song, because sometimes they use all of the studio track, sometimes they don’t use any of it. In this song, for example, there’s very little of the original studio track in the live version. Then I play all the live instruments that her band uses.
