This is wonderful John. I have been seriously fooling around with open D for a few months now and have had a blast. This alternate opens up a whole different look. Thanks!!
Is this the style that Colter Wall’s Devil Wears a Suit and Tie is in? It’s obviously heavy on blues, but didn’t seem as cocky as Delta Blues nor have as much groove as Hill Country Blues.
Don’t quote me on that particular song but he often plays in standard tuning but with all strings tuned down a half step. He’s a very skilled guitarist and I believe he uses the extra slack in the strings to allow better pronunciation when bending and hammering on/off
Thanks! This is my Larrivée OM09 and I almost always use the D'Addario EJ16s. I've dabbled with other strings and I'm not certain what I used in this video but I always come back to the D'Addario's.
What a brilliant introduction and explanation of this crossnote tuning. Going to have fun exploring this one. Many thanks for sharing this. Play on…

Awesome tuning. With some distortion/High tone, could have some black metal styled blues 😁🤟

Skip was way ahead of his time.
It's like Black Sabbath before Black Sabbath
Good one! Your the best! I've been playing and singing with this tuning all day!
This is fantastic. Can we get a part 2 with more licks?
A tip: you can watch movies on kaldroStream. Been using it for watching a lot of movies during the lockdown.
@Jaxx Anthony yup, I have been using kaldroStream for months myself =)

any tips on something really swampy sounding?
A slide and a rattle snake tail
🤘😎🤘
Yeah😎👍🎶
is it DADF#AD ?
F flat for a minor sound
@@timsim1940 Well strictly F natural (F flat would actually be E)
I’ve been playing this tuning for years, it’s fully representing my style, but I get stock. How I can keep progressing into this tuning ?
By moving to DADAAd. Less is more.
